[ I own a few pairs of Olukai sandals and they are generally very stylish and comfortable. This model lives up to that standard overall; however, they are probably a step below comparable Olukai models like the Mea Ola, for instance. The leather is more of a finished smooth type as opposed to the full grain leather on other models. Also, the sole is a composite as opposed to a combination of leather and rubber pads on other models. The toe strap on this model is a soft cloth as opposed to leather, as on other Olukai models. Some might prefer the cloth strap as it is a little softer, although the leather ones soften up as they 're worn and are probably more durable. It might be a matter of personal taste, but for the exact same price you can get a leather wrapped sole, leather toe strap and maybe a little more comfort from the rubber pads on the other models. My advice is to compare this style to others and determine which you prefer.

I wore Reef Gingers for years and since the style has changed for the worse, I was on what seemed to be an endless search for the perfect black flip flop. These Honu flip flops are sleek and comfortable and look stylish to boot. The only downside is not being able to throw them in the washing machine like I did with the Reefs, but the leather on these is so elegant and the overall look so classy that I do n't mind. OluKai Honu for the win!

The leather covered footbeds feel great on the feet.
