I went for a walk this morning on our local rail trail and came upon a tree that had fallen the night before and completely blocked the path. I was bored and started to break the smaller branches to get them out of the way. The only cutting tool I had on me was my little SOG Instinct that I bought a few weeks ago, so I started carving away at the larger limbs so they were easier to break. I got down to a 7 inch limb and spent about 45 minutes carving, hacking, and swearing at it. That little SOG knife was a beast. I got to the point where I was using a rock on the butt to drive it deeper into the limb because after 2 hours, I was tired. The rock broke, but the knife kept going. I finally got 2/3 of the trail cleared for hikers and bikers, but it would not have been possible without the SOG Instinct. For$ 35 at Bass Pro, it has become one of the best knives I 've ever had. I 'm a SOG guy now! As soon as I can cobble together some more money, I 'm getting another SOG.

I bought this knife over five years ago and it always comes in handy. Only one time did I have it start getting jammed up and hard to open, but that was when I forgot i had it on me before going into a concert and had to get rid of it. In stead of taking a shuttle and then getting my car out of valet I chose to shove it deep into some dirt nearby so it would n't be found and stolen. When I got it out hours later the blade was n't easy to open. All I had to do was disassemble and clean out the dirt and then it worked like new. Awesome knife.

well a little kid knocked my favorite knife off the pier today and i wish the warantee would cover that but it was a great knife, comes sharp, stays sharp and good blade thickness but lightweight and extremely durable cant believe the things it had been through( 70% of powdercoat was knocked off if that gives you any indication of how much abuse it survived, im ordering another as soon as im done with this here review, great product hope they continue to make great cheap knifes like these in the future.

I was gifted this knife about 6 years ago, used it almost daily, and it had never disappointed me. Unfortunately, I lost it a little while ago, and I have n't been able to find another one to compare, so I 'm back to buy another one. It was n't bulky in any of my pocket's( including women's shallow jean pockets), and had a sturdy enough clip to stay in place without slipping out accidentally. It was stiff to open one- handed, but I personally enjoyed that so it did n't come open in my bag or pants, and the blade stayed sharp no matter what kind of work I was using it for. I whole- heartedly recommend this knife.

[ I bought this knife because it reminded me of the Buck 110 my old man gave me as a gift when I was a kid. I liked that gift a lot and used that knife for many many years. I always hoped Buck would remake a high quality modern version of the 110 model. Well Benchmade beat them to it. The knife opens and closes butter smooth. This knife is very similar to the Benchmade 940 but with a nostalgic appearance. I love the axis lock. I love how this knife looks. My only complaints about this knife is the finish is pretty slick( not much traction on the knife) and and the wood scales do n't sit perfectly flush with the aluminum. Overall, I very much like this knife.

This is a solid and well- crafted knife, comparable in quality to knives costing many times more. As a former Army medic I can appreciate the rescue features as well. The blade is razor sharp and I have n't yet had the need to sharpen. It took a little practice but I can now easily and smoothly open with one hand, left or right. I am so impressed with this knife I just ordered the 2. 0 version to keep in one of my cars. Only caveat, I 've seen some demos showing how the safety belt cutter is n't very effective. That may, in fact, be true, but the serrated edge of the razor- sharp blade is more than up to the task. This is only a good knife for crossing border into Canada which I do a lot of and where many knives are banned and where no knife can be carried for the primary intent of self- defense. The rescue and safety features of this knife help legitimize it.

I use this knife for skinning and quartering axis deer, and of all the knives I have( even those made for skinning deer) this knife is my favorite. Just the right size, holds an edge well, sharpens quickly, and hasn ’ t broken a tip while separating hip sockets. I bought the red para shears after i got my wife's opinion. She's an RN 1st responder. I showed them to her after receiving them and she loved them and thanked me for getting them for her. Who am I to argue. I ordered another pair of para shears for myself and my truck. For my wife to appreciate one of my crazy purchases shows how darn good those para shears are. Try them yourselves, you 'll appreciate their utility and ability to fold up to fit in a belt carry pouch which makes them part of my EDC, along with a tourniquet, P365, spare mag and a couple of pocket knifes. Would recommend if you want some dedicated throwing knives you can use that aren ’ t shaped like a teardrop. I gave 5 stars but would give 4. 5 if I could. Only because I am being a picky baby on this one. It would be cool if there was a guide on re- wrapping the handle as the cord does come loose after a few throws. Not such a big deal as you can still throw fine without the cord.
