Just shoveled snow in these and I am in love! The tread prevents you from slipping, the fur at the ankle helps keep a little snow out and the chunky sole provides plenty of insulation from the cold ground. The fur is only around the top but the inside is flocked and cozy without adding too much bulk. My feet are on the cusp of being wide but the regular width in my size fit fine. They feel slightly tight at first with thick socks but within a couple of minutes warm up and are comfortable. I do n't even needs my hands to put them on, just step right into them and go.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit!
