We bought the Heater PowerAlley Pitching Machine Lite- Balls- 6 Pack to supplement the 6 pack that came with the machine. These white balls run at a specified 60 mph, and I believe that is correct. They are much faster than the orange, 45 mph balls. These white balls have a flatter trajectory, and you have to move the machine back a foot or so, to give the batter more reaction time. But they add more fun to the experience, because the speed and flat path the ball takes makes hitting more of a challenge.

These balls are great, especially for instructional age kids. It removes the fear of being hit by the ball when being pitched or out of the pitching machine. You can also use them to remove the fear of being in front of the ball when teaching to catch. I also use these for indoor cage use as well without fear of damage if the netting gives. These balls are nice quality. They are solid with a slight squishy feeling. When used in the heater pitching machine they come out slower because of their weight. If they get wet or damp they are even slower through the machine. My not have enough velocity to make it farther than 10 feet when wet.( wet because the grass is damp) When dry they can go far enough to simulate a pitcher. Not perfectly but enough for back yard practice.
