I bought this for hiking with my jack russel/rat terrier mix. He has an odd shaped body( long body with short legs) which makes it hard to find harnesses that fit him without rubbing in the armpits. This harness is very adjustable and fits really well. He ca n't get out of it when rolling around which has been an issue with other harnesses we 've tried. Real metal ring for the leash snap is also a big plus. I do n't know for sure if it 'll hold up for years without using it for years, but I 'd give it very good odds. It is much lighter weight, so I think it keeps her cooler, and when she jumps in creeks during her walks, it dries off much faster.
