These shoes have been great and provide nice cushion and bounce. I ’ ve run about 50 miles in them so far and have held up nicely. Plenty of room in the toe box which is rare in running shoes. Will be wearing these for my races this spring. My previous shoes were Vaporflys and Alphaflys and so far I like these better. These have been much more durable to date. After a less enjoyable Vaporfly 3, I was ecstatic to try these on and immediately notice the similarities to the Vaporfly 2 which was previously my favorite Nike racings shoe. “ Adding lightness, ” in the words of Lotus, is the best thing you can do whenever you already have an incredible design. Laces have improved slightly, and are still the best on the market; these don ’ t stretch and don ’ t come untied. Durability is always the tradeoff with some foams, and is the only possible criticism of this pair.

Nike Vaporfly 4 Proto This racing shoe is somewhat uncomfortable, but yet quite fast. The support near the ankle is not very secure, but it works. Laces can be an issue though as wearing this racing shoe requires a tight lacing setting due to it's low amount of secureness. This is an issue as it will be too tight, or not tight enough. Having it too tight will result in when taking off the shoe, having a stingy sensation on your foot( 5 mins). The Vaporfly 4 Proto also uses a Jordan 1 styled toebox which means it will be slightly uncomfortable. The racing shoe runs small, so go a size and a half up. Not only that, but the ZoomX foam is not very durable. I would recommend NOT washing this shoe or any Vaporfly/Alphafly due the ZoomX foam which is very fragile. Apart from all this, the Vaporfly 4 Proto(s) is an acceptable choice for racing due to it's stiffness with the carbon fiber plate and the cushioning ZoomX foam.

Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I ’ ve used this shoe on grass, dirt, pavement, and track, and it performs great on all. I ’ ve used this shoe since July, so I would estimate 100- 200 miles, and there isn ’ t too much wear. The fit of the shoe is great, love the snug feel. Not crazy amount of traction, but the hole in the bottom( where the plate is) can get some mobility out of the rocker. The DNA flash is very soft in the heel, and lessens further forward, giving soft landing and fast release. This shoe can be used of really any distance in speed. Only complaint I ’ ve had is the ankle bump it has, it gave me soreness one time, but never happened again, so it shouldn ’ t be a problem.

I prefer them to my Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 because I recover faster after a hard workout in the Hyperion Elite 4. Elite 4 is comparably more stable than the Endorphin Pro 4. Excellent upper and ventilation. DNA Flash 2 foam does not stiffen up in the cold. I appreciate the design of the laces and how it makes it harder for them to get undone. Fit is perfect on my slightly wide feet. These shoes do n't get proper justice from some online reviewers and I do n't agree with that. I am really happy I gave them a try and they are permanently in my rotation now until I wear them down.

I have been running in Glycerins or similar Brooks for 6 years, these are completely different and Amazing. It ’s either the extremely light weight, or the carbon plate, or the rounded toe and heel, who knows, but they are Fast. They also like a high speed to feel natural, anything faster than a 8: 00 min mile and they really start to do what they were made to do- the shoe Becomes more efficient at higher speeds.

I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

After putting them on the shoes were super comfortable very spongy and supportive. Took them out for a 3 mile run the next day and they were amazing, responsive, no heel slippage, feet weren ’ t sliding, and honestly make you want to go faster. I was hesitant to spend so much on a pair of running shoes, but with the 2025 Tokyo Marathon on my calendar, I thought I 'd take the plunge. I really like the EVO SL and the density of the foam and heard the EVO was simlar. And it is. Not squishy like the Pro 4( which I did n't like). Amazing rocker. Nice lockdown even for my narrow foot( although I had to wear a thicker sock). It's a tad slippery on wet surfaces, I tripped on some wet stairs on the way to the start, but the weather was sunny and hot so no issues on the course( water stops were okay for the most part). I 'm running the 2025 Berlin Marathon and plan to use these again, and have a couple other marathons I might break these out. I think I can get 3- 4 marathons in on these as there's barely any wear after Tokyo( I 'm 5'10 '' and 130 lbs so that might have something to do with it).

Reluctantly switched shoe brands after more than 20 years running in Nike. My favorite shoe was the Nike streakfly, before that, it was Nike free ’s. When Nike changed up the streakfly and added a carbon fiber plate, it was time to find a new shoe. But nothing in Nikes lineup compared to them. I need something flexible and lightweight. Without all the marshmallow cushion and carbon fiber plates adding stiffness. Something with relatively low heel- toe drop. These shoes are dying out. I decided to give these a try. It was between these and Saucony Kinvara 15. The only reason I didn ’ t go with the Saucony, is because they don ’ t offer a trial period on running shoes. And I ’ m glad they don ’ t now, because I am more than pleased with how these felt. They have a bit higher drop than I ’ m used to. I normally go for under 7mm. But honestly, I didn ’ t even notice it. These were on the upper end of weight that I normally go for also, but felt very lightweight on my feet. I was concerned about flexibility, but that also surpassed my expectations. I did an easy 5 mile run and my legs felt strong and lively. I could have kept going. I have always gotten “ hot spots ” on my toes when breaking in a new pair of Nikes that would require mole skin wrap for a while, but no hotspots spots at all with these! The toebox has ample room to let your toes spread. My new go- to shoes!

Returned to running after a 40 year break. Six months in I decided to run a marathon on five days notice. I got these because they are supposed to reduce fatigue and make recovery faster. I ran sub- 4 at age 57 with six months of training and a five day taper. The next day I had no problems running six miles. Overall, this shoe has exceeded my already high expectations. A couple small details that I 've loved:- Ribbed laces have prevented even a single loosening of my laces throughout runs, regardless of weather- I knew they would be lightweight, but I did n't expect them to feel* this* lightweight.- Exceptionally breathable- Dried quickly after I got caught in an entirely unexpected yet predictable PNW rainstorm( shoe was ready to wear again by next day)- The shoe still feels really supportive and cushioned, despite all of the above bullet points which might have made it sound stripped down

I finally found a great second shoe for faster days! It's got the support I want from my Adrenaline, but less cushioning- and more importantly much less weight. It's lighter but does n't feel too flat. Testing it a few times on one of my regular 7- 9 mile routes, I have been consistently 30- 45s/mile faster each time I ran which I credit to the shoes being lighter and likely getting a little bit faster foot turnover.

Alphafly 2 has been my only running shoe, so I ’ m sorry to see it appears to be on the way out. I hope the 3 is just as good. I love the booty fit without the need to deal with a loose tongue. Grab the loops at the top and back to slip on more easily. The laces did dig into the top of my feet, but problem solved with a Lydiard- style lacing( see photo).

Never ever had a problem with the alpha fly. I ’ ve worn them for the last 3 years or so and love them. I have a really bad knee but I honestly don ’ t suffer with it when wearing the alpha flys because of the cushion acts as a shock absorber. Love them and all the colours

4th and last pair of Pro3 ’s sadly. Love this shoe!! Pity it ’s gone out of production. Just works, outsole lasts, i( 86kg) get 600km+, great bounce, “ toe off ” and snug feel. You just need to work out the bottom lace fit/ looseness else it can rub on big toe knuckle if too tight. Top race day shoe, not much in it between this and other “ super shoes ”. This outsole just lasts longer. Onto Pro4 ’s, which look great but sadly sound bit softer, less mileage outsole and not getting amazing reviews atm from mates. C'est la vie

purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

I guess they wear out quicker than average shoe but i keep running in them and rejecting my `` normal '' running shoes that give me calluses on my big toe. My only complaint is it's hard to get my size in the color i want. I get compliments on the neon yellow ones. Just got the guava bc that's all i could find in my size. Make more!

I bought these to race a 10k, and they killed it today in my time trial. They are my first “ plated ” racers, so it was a new feel for me, but as someone who has owned many pairs of Brooks, it was also very familiar. They are comfortable and lightweight, with a surprising amount of support for a non “ support ” shoe( I normally buy GTS). They have a softer sole than I ’ m used to, but they are very springy and fast, especially at paces of 7: 30/mile or faster. Highly recommend!
