I searched high and low for the perfect pickleball shoe. I felt like Goldilocks: the toe box on this one was too narrow... this one was too stiff... this one had no arch support... this one just looked ridiculous on my feet. This is the 6th pair of shoes I 've purchased to replace my previous Wilson Ace Rush Pro's and I finally found a shoe as comfortable! The toe box is nice and roomy but my foot does not slide around. The back of the shoe is low enough that it does n't rub or aggravate my ankles. These were comfortable straight out of the box and after playing two hours of pickeball.

I am an advanced beginner player and these are my first pickleball shoes. I love them! My coach suggested that I get pickleball shoes to avoid injuries( I had been wearing running shoes on the court). I was n't prepared for how much of a difference good pickleball shoes can make. My feet hurt most of the time( in all shoes) due to neuromas in both feet. In spite of that I play 3- 5 hours of pickleball everyday. I usually can only tolerate a running shoe that is very cushy( but not a great court shoe). I even broke my toe playing because of how soft the running shoe is. This New Balance shoe is the first court shoe I been able to tolerate with minimal pain. It is very comfortable and stable. It also has great traction as the first time I wore this shoe, the court was wet.

I actually do not play pickleball. I am a long time tennis player and a long time fan of the FuelCell 996. This shoe has served me well for many years. Unfortunately in the last couple of versions the wide has gotten narrower and narrower. I thought I would try the 796 Pickleball since it was available in extra wide.
