I bought this to use for hikes in the fall& early winter. It's primary use is as an outerwear shirt or even a replacement for a light jacket. I 've only had it for one trial run, but it has performed admirably. When paired with a good base layer it has kept me comfortable from the low 30's to mid 40's F. My first impression was the wool was very itchy on bare skin. It's a a far cry from a quality merino base layer, but while carrying a light pack and coupled with a good base I never noticed the shirt. Seems like a nice shirt with enough room to make it very versatile.

Otherwise, this has been great for working in really cold weather. In other words, I live in South Florida where it rarely gets chilly, but this is a great material for a cool morning walk or if you like keeping the AC low indoors! I am typically a size 18 on top and the XXL fits just right, so I would say this runs on the smaller side if you 're looking for a looser fit. [ I love my Nike Therma fit one top. It ’s sleek and sporty and super comfy. The fabric has tons of stretch for comfort and ease during a workout, but is a good thickness( not as thick as a fleece and not as thin as leggings) and matte and therefore very flattering. I had it on during one of those Fall days where you think “ it ’s probably 65 out ” but it ’s really 50 degrees. And I was plenty warm. I like the length of the top- it sits just below the hip. I am 5 ’ 7 ” and a size 8 in clothes and the medium is perfect with a tank top underneath. I love the soft gray color and subtle swoosh on the side( I usually don ’ t go for big logos!). The collar sits nicely upright with it unzipped. Only thing I noticed that I didn ’ t love is the small neck hole. Really flattering and form- fitting and the full- zip is super useful to not only take on and off, but also lower if you get a little stuffy. The collar is the perfect height and the pockets are useful as well. Medium tends to be on the verge of too tight and large tends to be baggy. The Ovik twill in medium is a perfect fit. I wear this baselayer weight for cross country skiing when it ’s above 30 degrees or so. Smartwool varies in size for me, these are not extremely fitted like some of the 1/4 zips so go with your normal size.
