[ It ’s far too warm to try this out here in the southeast yet, but I am impressed. It weighs little( comparable to a down vest), fits great( Medium, 5 ’ 7 ”, 155 lbs), and packs down small. It ’s just what I wanted for some emergency warmth when I ’ m out in the woods. I wanted synthetic insulation because we don ’ t have that dry cold of the frozen north in which down excels; I ’ m more likely to be cold and damp.

Just that extra touch of warmth maybe a little bit more and without the bulk. Its feather light. Needs a chest pocket but zippers and extra material add weight I get it. Glad I purchased this vest as it is easily a quick grab go to especially with the mild winter so far in the PNW. It will be with me every time I am carrying a day pack as well while skiing.

I 'll admit when I picked this vest up I was a little hesitant on its warmth keeping abilities do to its light weight and fragile feel. Let 's just say I was very impressed how well it works to keep me warm. This is a great little vest. I would think the full sleeve jacket version would be too warm for me on a regular basis in the spring time in the PNW so this is perfect for my needs of casual walking around and hiking in 40- 50 degree weather. Over 55 degrees walking around I start sweating with this and a long sleeve shirt on. Very happy with this purchase.

Detail ’s phenomenal per usual with new ACG! The UFO Saucer on the zipper glows in the dark along with the chest ACG logo,& the Polartec logo by the right pocket. For the second time I can ’ t say enough about the details, do you even notice the Aliens on the jacket?! Just buy before it ’s gone already truly a unique piece. And when it comes to the feel, Super soft, lightweight, cozy. Lighter and softer than the ACG wolf tree zip up. Does seem to run more roomy, stick with true to size though.

[ I am an avid runner and love the Brooks Shield Hybrid Vest 3. 0. This vest is lightweight and comfortable to wear. I live in the Midwest so it gets pretty cold sometimes. I love that it is insulated and keeps me warm on cold mornings. With 80g of Thermolite, it traps in warm air while wicking away moisture from my skin. It is windproof and water- repellant which is perfect for me. It also has a tall collar that helps keep the wind out. It is true to size and fits me well. The back is made of breathable spandex. I like that there are zippered pockets located on both sides of this vest with a stash pocket for small items located inside the outer pocket. There are also two inner pockets as well. It has a zipper and snap closure for added protection from the elements. The zipper is easy to pull up and down thanks to the extended pull attached to it. It 's also easy to snap and unsnap with no hang- ups. Brooks has thought of everything when making this vest. It even has an elastic loop sewn into the back collar for easy hanging. It can be machine washed and tumbled dry on low heat.

It runs true to size my husband is in between a large and xl but very tall so we got him an x- large and it fit well. My husband loved the black color because he doesn ’ t train at night and doesn ’ t like very bright and flashy clothing. It is getting to be a little chilly in the mornings when we run and this is a great lightweight but warm vest to take the morning chill off, but not too heavy so that you overheat once you get warmed up. I was pleasantly surprised how soft the fabric is, the pockets zip up so things don ’ t fall out while your running. Overall this vest is very comfortable, warm and lightweight, I would definitely recommend it!
