Love Smartwool for days in the snow. It ’s a great base layer that I can depend on. It is super soft when you first buy it but does get scratchier with wash and wear, even with gentle cycles, mild detergent, and hang drying. I tend to wear a thin, cotton free layer underneath for better comfort and more layers. While it does offer some stretch, it is very true to size, so if you are teetering between sizes, size up. You ’ ll be more comfortable and won ’ t risk circulation compression, which will ultimately make you more cold.

I am truly amazed at how well this bottom works to keep me warm. One must understand, I am constantly cold, so to me, this is amazing. I am 5ft 3in, and weigh 115lbs, and the small works well for me. I have laundered it, with no ill effects. It has retained it's shape and fit very well. The bottom also fits perfectly under skinny jeans, without bunching or showing. I live in Iowa, and it gets cold here. While wearing this pair of thermal bottoms, I stayed warm. It really goes long way in cutting the harsh winds we get out here on the prairie. They fit like a glove, literally as they were tight but not compressed. I did a light jog and they were not uncomfortable or caused any discomfort. [ So let me start with letting you know that I ’ ve started to run again after taking several years off due to pregnancies and other health issues. The last time I was really into running, I had the cutest running wardrobe which gave me all the confidence in the world to keep going. Since I ’ ve been back, I wear basically whatever I have available. Usually the leggings I wear while I work from home and a random large shirt that I inherited from my brother or husband. These leggings have reminded me of the importance of good running leggings/gear. They moved with every stride I took and most importantly did not start sagging at the waist since there ’s a pull string to keep them up in the center. The material is soft and didn ’ t feel too “ shiny ”, if you know what I mean. What I absolutely loved about these though was all the pockets. I ’ ve included a picture of the pockets at the back of the waist which was soooo amazing to have. The leggings I own usually have a small slit at the front of my waist band for a key or card but these pockets run from left to right. The middle slit was even wide enough for my iPhone which is unheard of for me. I appreciate Nike for keeping the average runner in mind with these, along with the most advanced runner. I totally recommend these, but the bullet and pay the price because they ’ re definitely worth it.

I think I ’ ve had these leggings for 1week and I ’ ve worn them twice already lol. They are super soft and shockingly a little insulated I wore them in negative degree weather! I have a size small and I ’ m 160lbs, 5 ’ 7 and still have room. They are super stretchy and not see through while giving you a good compression. I suffer from excess skin due to weight loss and you couldn ’ t tell with the leggings. They down roll down which I sometimes have a problem with especially if there is no drawstring. I own two pairs of these leggings in XS and S, and honestly both fit great it just depends on the mood. When I want a more snatched compressive feel XS is perfect. When I ’ m in the mood for maximum softness and comfort S feels amazing. For reference, I ’ m 5 ’ 3 ” tall, with a 26. 8 ” waist and 39. 4 ” hips. The length works well for me the leggings hit about 2. 5 inches above the ankle. I wear these for squats, lunges, and treadmill workouts at the gym and they perform great. The leggings offer a snug, supportive fit that stayed in place during my runs, without feeling too tight or restrictive. I liked how the waistband was high enough to provide good coverage without digging in. The fabric was soft and had just the right amount of stretch. The material is extremely breathable, and I never felt overheated during my workouts. The design is sleek and minimalist. What I liked the most about the leggings was the comfort and breathability. Rather I wore them during a long run, strength training or just to run errands they felt light yet supportive. I never had to adjust them during a workout or worry about them sliding down. If I could change one thing, it would be the pockets. While the leggings have pockets, I find it too minimal for storing my phone or keys during a long run. A larger, more accessible pocket would make these leggings even more functional for runners.

[ These are designed to fit. Other leggings I have are very straight, and then the mfg relies on the elasticity of the fabric to hug your skin. These are made of an elastic fabric( 75% poly, 25% spandex), but also are cut to hug your body parts. Notice how they cut in on the calf to knee, and on the thigh, there are additional seams to hug the body. The ankle fit is really nice and contributes to the leggings staying in place. There is absolutely no stitching at the bottom of the ankle. The fit was excellent( I 'm 5' 7, 155, in a medium) and had minimal stretching after a run. They got a little longer( so I just replaced the ankle higher and pulled them up), but the waist/butt all remained in place. Also wore these to yoga and they were very comfortable. I especially like the skinny drawstring at the inside top. They also have ventilation at the back of the knees, pockets at both hips, and the logo and some subtle design details are reflective. My only complaint is that they 're too nice to be lounging leggings. Definitely comfortable enough to do errands in or lay around the house, but equally as comfortable for run or workout, which is unlikely for high- waisted, techy workout apparel.
