I have this ball return as well as the Puttout mat and gates. I 'm my opinion you need the gates to fully benefit from this device. The gates allow you to ensure the ball is coming straight out of the face as it tracks into the cup. The one improvement I would like to see in future versions of this device would be more pronounced guardrails on with sides of the cup as well as a backstop at the top of the ramp. These changes would allow me to hit putts that simulate much longer putts than the relatively short mat allow. The Puttout mat is the very best mat I have found. I definitely enjoy using my Garmin Golf GPS sensors and watch along with the app. Very accurate. I very rarely have to pull out my range finder. They are also very durable while I ’ m not one who just throw my clubs in the bag till it bottoms out sometimes they do fall in and hit hard but the sensors continue to work. Even the batteries last pretty long. I first set were Arccos and I had to keep adjusting my hits some would register and some would not so I got tired of that because it was hard to concentrate on my golf game.

Not belonging to a country club and living up north, it ’s nearly impossible to practice hitting out of the sand other than on a course. First they help with making sure that I am aligned to my target. The rings aid in making sure that my low point at impact is correct. I start my taking divots to make sure that it starts at the chosen line and extends past. Knowing that I have the correct alignment, I can now focus on my swing path and club angle. This product is a mainstay for my practice sessions. I also like the tube that can be used for storage between practices.
