This is a solid and well- crafted knife, comparable in quality to knives costing many times more. As a former Army medic I can appreciate the rescue features as well. The blade is razor sharp and I have n't yet had the need to sharpen. It took a little practice but I can now easily and smoothly open with one hand, left or right. I am so impressed with this knife I just ordered the 2. 0 version to keep in one of my cars. Only caveat, I 've seen some demos showing how the safety belt cutter is n't very effective. That may, in fact, be true, but the serrated edge of the razor- sharp blade is more than up to the task. This is only a good knife for crossing border into Canada which I do a lot of and where many knives are banned and where no knife can be carried for the primary intent of self- defense. The rescue and safety features of this knife help legitimize it.

[ Been carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. And doing it in a lightweight package makes the Skeletool a huge win. I ’ ve carried a bunch of knives through my short lifetime, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, etc. and they ’ ve all been great knives and I still own those knives. But the convenience of having a multi tool that weighs a little more or as much as a knife I already have, plus having a similar footprint as said knives, there ’s no reason I shouldn ’ t carry the skeletool everyday. Now is it perfect? No. If it had a pair of reliable scissors, like the ones from Swiss Army knives, then we would be inching towards perfect. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a knife, and it does it very well. I ’ ve come to find that the skeletool is also very customizable. There ’s a huge market that offers aftermarket modifications you can add to the tool. I ’ ve seen mods where you can add a hammer/pry tool to the end. And even seen guys add the aforementioned scissors. Possibilities seem endless. Should you carry it everyday in place of a knife? I don ’ t know, that ’s up to you. But should you give a try and see how you like it? I ’ d say absolutely and you ’ ll be pleasantly surprised.

I use this knife for skinning and quartering axis deer, and of all the knives I have( even those made for skinning deer) this knife is my favorite. This knife is great! First time I saw it I fell in love with the profile then I found the Wolf Gray and really loved the look.( I need a blue one now). Out the box it was near shaving sharp, some light stropping put it there. Feels great in the hand and has great control. Very tough light! I really like that you can just pulse the button without having to fully turn it on. The clip is tight and does loosen up. I have actually replaced my previous Coast EDC light with the Flash AT Petrol. Excellent light, and would definitely get another one.

Bought this for my wife and she loves it. We own several SOGs and have never been disappointed. Only ever had one issue when the SOG logo plate fell out of the handle of one of them. Their customer service was excellent and sent out a new plate that I glued in. The ONLY thing that keeps the Flash AT from getting a 5 star rating in my book is that the thumb post for opening it could be slightly bigger. It ’s a little tough to get a good purchase on with my bigger thumbs and the rather sharp point actually hurts a bit when you push on it. Otherwise great daily utility knife.

This is my third SOG. I carried the older flash everyday for close to 10 years and then thumb stud fall off. While looking to replace it a bought a more expensive open assist and it would close on my hand while using after only having it for a few months. I decided to go back to to the Flash. If you prefer light weight knives then this knife is n't for you. This thing is clunky to say the least, but it's very well balanced. So far I have n't seen any sights of wear on the handle caused by taking it in and out of its sheath like some of the other reviews talked about. As for the sheath I do n't have a single negative thing to say, this thing is awesome. It came with two adjustable leg straps and unlike the gator pro machete it's 100% compatible for both right and left hand carry which is huge for lefties such as myself. Finally, with a field sharpener built into the sheath gerber thought of every thing. I did a lot of research before purchasing the LMF ii and for the money nothing else came close to having as big of a bang for your buck. I 'm sure there are better knives on the market but not for under$ 100.

This is one of the few Gerber blades still made in the USA. I love the grip and it has good heft. It could be slightly better balanced but overall is an excellent knife. They say you get what you pay for... and this knife is worth the few extra dollars. The release on the sheath takes a little breaking in, but it is MOLLE compatible and they included a strap for drop/thigh wear. I am very satisfied and will be purchasing again as a gift.

This is an excellent blade. I use my knife upwards of at least 100 times per day while doing my job in hospital supplies. I bring it home on the weekends, clean the adhesive off, and hit it with a steel for a couple min to bring back that razor edge. I especially like the clip. I wear scrubs and the Aegis AT clips perfect in the V of my scrubs top. It's not a heavy knife, but the weight is noticeable so you know if you have it on you. The easy open/close is also awesome because I can operate the knife completely one handed. I now have three of these blades. Easy to operate and easy to keep sharp. I love this series
