[ I needed a good first aid kit, but one that was n't too big, as I needed it to take hiking. This one is perfect size, with all the right essentials. And it's waterproof, so if it gets wet, no biggie. Only drawback to that is the things they do to make it waterproof make it harder to get into the bag. Small price to pay for being prepared, though!

I used this set on my summer trips and have some great things to say about the set. The best qualities of this set is the water brush and the included bag. Starting with the bag, it is a great size with some extra room to add other tools as needed. Having the bag to store everything brings this set up a notch compared to companies without the outdoor experience of GSI. I am most impressed though with the quality of the pen. I’ve used others and never enjoyed the quality of the bristles as much as I have with this pen. It’s held up so far, and I would expect it to last at least as long as it will take me to use the included paper. The paper is good, holds up to repeated washes, but I’m really not expecting the same results as a cotton based paper. Even when I run through the included paper, ink pen I’m sure to get continued use of the bag and paints and will add other paints/supplies as needed. For the price and everything you get included, I would recommend this set to people who might have explored the Winsor and Newton Cotman travel set.

I did not have a deep wound so can not verify that it would work for that; but a regular cut it pretty much stopped the bleeding right away. I will be getting more to keep in my emergency kit

I used some of my bandage when I broke a glass figurine. Despite sweeping and vacuuming twice, I stepped on a piece and got a cut underneath my toe that just would n't stop bleeding. The QuickClot burned a bit, but the bleeding got under control quickly and stopped soon after. Definitely a must- have!

[ Perfect belay device with extra security built in! I mostly sport climb and it ’s been great to have that ATC feel with added security. From a belay stand point, it ’s easy to feed slack to/from my climber—granted that your rope isn ’ t too thick. Using anything close or beyond 10 gets quite grippy. I ’ ve only used it for single pitch routes, but could work for multi- pitch in guide mode. Highly recommend for an affordable brake assist device!

[ I 'm a fan! It's lightweight and compact. I have n't used it as a substitute for a grigri, partially b/c I like to have a second belay device just in case. I heard rumors that it was hard to repel w/ so I made sure I used this device in repelling. I honestly like using it b/c I feel secure enough to not need a prusik. The auto- lock is excellent for when you need to sort out the rope that is inevitably tangled during a repel. This might be scary to some at first so I suggest you use this device in a controlled setting first. Loading the device is not intuitive, but once you know which way is up and down, it's very intuitive and the extra loop works well to auto lock. For those that do n't like the auto- lock feature, you can easily load it in backwards and it becomes an ATC.

The Real ME
[ Hands down the best all around belay device in my opinion. It's basically a combination of an ATC, Guide, and a Gri Gri all in one, but at a fraction of the weight and waaaay more durable! Super light weight( 65g) and stainless steel so it does n't wear out like aluminum devices. Also, it does n't heat up as much while rappelling or lowering. I used to burn through a reverso every season and a gri gri every couple years. And usually more than one HMS belay biner per season... Been using my megajul for over 4 years now with no sign of wear! And I 've started using it with this HMS Bulletproof biner the past 2 years and it's barely showing any signs of wear!( see attached photo) It also does n't get your rope as dirty since there's no anodized coating to wear off onto your rope. Especially when used with this bulletproof belay biner. And even more so if you use the bulletproof quickdraws as well! Not to mention the environmental aspect of not needing to replace these items nearly as frequently. These really are built to last! The brake assist works great, especially on ropes 9. 5mm and under. Pays out rope effortlessly but locks up reliably when you need it. Also works great in guide mode for multi- pitch climbing, again better with a smaller diameter rope. Extremely versatile with the ability to rappel in regular mode like a classic atc, and also in brake assist mode which is super helpful when cleaning a route, untangling ropes while on rappel, or working on a stuck piece of gear. It took us about 10 minutes to pump up which is not bad to be on the water paddling around and/or fishing out in the open water for the day. This inflatable kayak has worked well to paddle in our creek and out to the river with my son or daughter. I am careful to avoid downed trees or anything that could puncture it. We also plan to use it in the ocean and intracoastal. My 9yr old son fully inflated and assembled it by himself. It comes with 2 seats, 2 paddles, pump, repair kit, fins, and a nice zippered storage bag. While it is easy to setup, it does take some time and should be noted that there are a lot of parts to keep up with and the once inside the bag it is quite heavy and large to store or transport. For one person, it takes about 15 minutes to deflate and packup and bw 30- 45min to set up the first few times.

I 've had a chance to take this out for three skis with an infant in the Chariot. Felt great to get out on the trails and have the little one sleeping behind me. Pros: The stability of the Chariot is great, and having them up off the ground helps to keep them warmer that a ground- based pulk. Installation is super simple and you can even wax the skis to maximize glide. Also nice to be able to store a few extra things for you or the child in the pulk's ample cargo spaces. Cons: There's no dampening system between the pulk and the skier, so any bumps/accelerations/decelerations experience by the pulk are translated to the skiers hips. This take a little bit of getting used to, but after a bit, is fine. Despite Thule trying to make the system as light- weight as possible, it's still heavy and will only get more- so as the child grows; this makes the uphills a slog( but downhills are awesome!).

There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. [ I had never owned or used a hand ascender before this one, so I do n't have anything to compare it to besides a microascender and using the carabiner as a handle. This makes ascending/jugging/jumaring much easier! You need a pretty small force to slide it up the rope, it has never slipped down on me, it always catches and bites well( on 10mm static rope) It's also pretty easy to disengage, the teeth do n't get caught in the sheath very easily, especially if you give it a little push up while disengaging. Practice that motion off the rope a ton of times! You 'll feel a lot more comfortable with it. Practice on the rope on the ground to. I 've climbed about 200 ft total so far and I 'm satisfied. Its a little heavy, but that's to be expected.

He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.
