These poles are adaptable for many terraines. I am older and use these mostly in town using the rubber tips which I ordered at the same time. I took off the `` mud baskets '' and graphite tips and found the Instructions clear and well illustrated.

My poles are still holding up after a few thousand miles on them! These are some quality poles and they have never failed me out on the trail. I honestly ca n't say enough good things about these poles. No frills just quality trekking poles that will hold up to major abuse. Super happy I purchased them.

First trekking poles I have owned. Bought them to help me climb mt borah in Idaho. Though I have only used them the one time it ’s some pretty intense terrain and the poles performed perfectly. Love the flick locks as well. Guys with twist locking poles on my trip had problems that I did not.

I had originally borrowed a pair of Black Diamond as was doing a lot of hills. Liked them so much that got a pair for myself. Have used for hiking sand dunes with the snow attachment. Also used for hiking in the Smokey ’s. Easy to get compact plus like the lock that really holds the pole when extended. When compact easily attach to my day pack when I don ’ t need them. Have used mine or the borrowed pair for 5 weeks of almost daily hikes. Latest of 12 miles.

Recently used trail trekking poles at three western state national parks under various conditions, such as crossing rivers, climbing over rocks, climbing steep terrain, etc. The trail trekking poles performed under every condition and functioned as a hiking performance tool. I 'm looking forward to using these trail trekking poles on many more hiking trips.

My wife has yet to use them due to foot surgery, but my kids loved them when they borrowed them.

I purchased tips to go on my new Black Diamond treking poles. I have been hiking with my family and the Boy Scouts for many years. With my next adventure heading to Philmont I chose to purchase trekking poles and tips to support me as I climb up Mt. Baldy. In trying hikes at Mohican they were useful to keep me upright in some slippery spots, but they really proved their use at Shawnee State Park. Climbing the elevation and not having poles with these tips would have been impossible. In my opinion looking at others gear Black Diamond treking pole tips gave me more grip and stability to be able to finish the 2, 000 foot elevation change, 2 day, 25 mile backpacking trip.

I have n't used other poles before so I do n't know how this compares to others, but I 'm happy with it and hope to keep using it for a while. This pack is the perfect trail companion! I 've gotten to take it out both XC skiing and on some winter hikes and it's the perfect size for an extra layer, snacks, first aid kit, and any other gear you might need on the trail. I love the magnet strip on the water bladder that nicely holds the bladder straw in space when not using it, and easy to drink out of while on the trail. The pockets are well thought out and easily accessible. I do wish the side water bottle pockets were a little larger to fit my nalgene, but definitely not a dealbreaker since it has the integrated bladder.

[ The material of this shirt is great, soft and breathable. It is very comfortable for hike during summer. Sufficient pockets provided. The downside of this shirt is that the use of material for the button made it heavier compare to Abisko Hike LS Shirt but still light weight enough.

[ This shirt is amazing... snap buttons, comfortable material, comfortable fit, ample storage, can be worn casually or to the office. Despite ordering a darker color, this thing does a great job keeping the heat off you. I would order a whole closet of these if they were n't so painful on my wallet!

I love how light and compact these are compared to other poles on the market. I was cheap and went with aluminum to save a little bit of cash, because I did n't think the 1oz. weight saving was worth the bump in price for the carbon ones( at least not for me). I wore these on a four night trip to the backcountry. They were incredibly comfortable and I loved the zippered pocket. By the third day, I did have to pull them up a bit but the drawstring came in handy. Went hiking in the Lake District and discovered my abisko tights were too large. Fortunately, I found a Fjallraven vendor and found these tights, which turned out perfect as I need a bit more insulation. I love the feel of these. They kept me warm on some pretty brutal days. They dry quickly. I am absolutely in love with Fjallraven tights, and these are a new favorite.
5
FjällFox
I think Fjällräven really succeeded it balancing the comfortability of tights with the durability required for trekking in forests. These are a perfect combination of the two- flattering and well fitting tights that hold up to the scuffing and scratching that comes with trekking through a natural environment. They still look brand new after several washes and many many treks. The added warmth is such a nice bonus!

I own both aluminum and carbon- fiber poles, quick- lock type, from Cascade Mountain Tech. I love them so much, I 've even bought sets for friends. I prefer the aluminum for trips where I might need a stronger pole, such as when in deep snow( where I might bend the pole while it's plunged deeply into powder) or when I 'm using them as tarp poles. I prefer the carbon- fiber poles when I 'm more concerned about weight than strength. Honestly, the difference in weight is hardly detectable by me. You just ca n't beat the price for the aluminum poles. Also, I have been so pleased when I 've needed spare parts that they are very affordable, and if I remember correctly, the shipping was FREE even for such an inexpensive total price. Amazing! You just ca n't go wrong with poles from Cascade Mountain Tech. Why the heck would you pay double the price or more? To shave off a few grams? If you have money to throw away and you ca n't strengthen your body enough to tolerate a few extra grams or ounces, then knock yourself out. I 'll continue to save money and be completely satisfied with these poles.

There are lots of hiking poles out there, with a lot of different features. The CMT cork- grip aluminum quick- locks will fulfill a lot of needs. First, they come with a wide variety of fittings: want rubber feet to grip dry terrain? You get 2 different style feet! Want mud baskets to prevent them from seeping into spring muck? They 're in there! Going snowshoeing, and desire snow baskets to keep you out of power, and tungsten- carbide tips to bite into ice? They have that, too! These are an excellent pole to start off with for a variety of weights and outdoor activities, and can keep pace with you for quite a while until the if and when you progress to the higher levels that require specialized equipment for your wilderness adventures. For the price paid, the options provided, and the build quality, these poles have no equal.

I used this pack for the first time on a 12 mile round trip overnight stay at a lake. It held everything I needed- I am an over packer too- and I still had room to pack out a few extra things like camp garbage. The hip support pads were nice and cushioned and didn ’ t chafe my skin like other packs, but I did notice my hips more sore than normal the day after. I wish there was more exterior pockets for smaller items, but the top cover having such a large pocket did the trick for me to access things like headlamp, bug spray, and some snacks. I ’ m very loyal to TNF brand and was reluctant to replace my well used spectrum pack, but very happy with my purchase and look forward to more use.

Nice sturdy poles. Easy to expand and put together. Used to have the Kelly fold out and snap kind but the bungee rubbed and snapped the chord. This is a very high quality hiking backpack. It is lightweight, but seems very durable and well made. There is a high attention to detail as well. The water bottle pockets are noce and stretchy to hold a variety of different sized bottles. I would definitely recommend this product to anybody who doesnt want to break the bank when it comes to a nice hiking bakpack.

Love how much variety this pack offers! From the trail to the airport, this pack really does it all. I took this pack on a trip to California where I had to pack light, but needed to bring my work laptop and knew I 'd be doing some hiking. It was the perfect pack for the job! It was great for travel and fit everything I needed for a plane ride and easily transitioned to a hike once I got to my destination. It really has the perfect amount of pockets- I love the front `` shove it '' pocket and the interior mesh pocket to keep thing organized. It also has a small pocket on the inside for its rain cover( which is included!) which came in handy while I was on my trip! My favorite feature of the pack is the included water bladder with magnetic connection points that keeps the hydration hose secured to the backpack strap. I 've never had a pack/bladder with this and I 'm obsessed. This pack has very intentional and thoughtful features and I 'm stoked to have it in my gear arsenal. On top of the features, I love how stylish and clean the design on the pack is. This is now a go- to pack for me and I know I 'm going to get a ton of use out of it. Can not recommend this pack enough!

This bag perfect for any and all adventures. It provides just the right amount of space for extra layers, food, and all the necessities. Michael
Great day pack. Pockets in all the right places for convenience items. Not having an internal frame, saves the weight I was looking for. Main pack pockets are right sized. Hydration sleeve allows for a variety of connection styles by using a Velcro strap. Comfortable shoulder straps with phone and bottle/other stretch fabric pockets. Waist belt has convenience quick access pockets and useful mini daisy chain rows, nice for small caribiners to connect small stuff. Lots of details others tend to leave out.

It's a great backpack. I got it large and it was actually smaller than I thought it would be. It definitely wo n't go over your head if you think it's those types of backpacks. You can reach the water bottle if you are able to reach for it normally on the side pocket. It looks nice and the clips are easy to snap on and off to remove the pack. The pockets all are great and the small pocket on the strap is pretty convenient and you can see through it a little bit to know what's in it too.

I used this pack on a winter 7 miles, 3, 200' elevation hike breaking trail most of the way. I packed from the bottom up: belay parka in a compression sack, burly goretex shell jacket, 2 one liter nalgene bottles, extra gloves, med/ emergency kit( about 1L in size), 2, 500 calories of snacks, nanopuff jacket. Two headlamps and keys in the internal zip pocket, map and microspikes in the external zip pocket. Two 16oz waterbottles in each side pocket for 3L total, neither side waterbottle fell out while butt sliding down the trail. Samsung Galaxy S22 fit nicely in either chest pocket, chapstick in the bottom elastic pockets. 25 '' snowshoes on the S/M pack were easy to put on a take off with a sling. I did n't use the zip pocket next to the waterbottle holder but it definitely seems like it could be useful. Used the double sternum strap( very comfortable!) to clip my gloves to the bottom strap and tuck them under the top so no snow fell in. I carried the pack around for 15 minutes with 30lbs of rice and beans in the back, it carries the weight well but you can feel items through the back if you do n't pack right. No soreness the day after hiking. I plan to take this out on longer day hikes- presidential range, great range where I might want extra gear but do n't want a 40+L pack. No signs of wear after a single hike getting snagged by trees, seems like it will be durable. Sizing: I typically wear my packs at 18 '' torso, the S/M mens is a perfect fit, I had about 1 '' extra waistband with a 28 '' waist. I bought the Deuter SpeedLite 28 womens but it was terribly tiny all over, this is everything I wanted that pack to be and better. Overall: Very well organized, lots of attachment points, lightweight, comfortable, and moves well with the wearer. New go to pack, well worth the price.

Hoefelli. S.
Where to start with these poles? They 're ultra- lightweight and telescope down to the perfect size to store on the side of all of my packs( avalanche airbag+ backpacking bag+ day hike bag). They come with all of the assorted tips/attachments that you would ever need whereas some companies like to squeeze more money out of you when you decide that you want/need a pair of snow baskets or any other type of attachment for the tips. They 're super strong, I have n't had any issues with them collapsing/giving out on me and I tend to put quite a bit of my weight into these( especially when splitboarding). The cork handles are fantastic, they 're ultra comfortable and I have n't had any issues with blisters or anything along those lines. The extended grips below the cork material are also great for choking up on the poles when needed. The wrist straps are extremely comfortable no matter how hard I wrench into/put my weight into them. The telescoping itself is performed extremely smoothly as I 've had other pairs that do n't slide nearly as easily from one size to the next as you 're making on the fly adjustments for different pitch types. Overall, for the price point I am beyond satisfied with these poles and I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking at getting a pair of trekking poles for ANY activity.

Made the hike up to and down from the Harding Ice Field in Alaska so much easier. Appreciated the poles going up, but also made the climb down that much easier. Height adjustments are made quickly and easily. Poles also unfold and click into place easily. Folds easily into the pouch provided and packs well in suitcase or backpack. Used these poles on hiking trails in Kaitmai and Kenai regions. Very pleased with the investment as it made a tremendous difference in making hikes a bit easier. Looking to keep using these poles for local hikes now too.

This was the first time using trekking poles. These were easy to adjust. I liked the fact that the poles could flex in more than one direction. I have feet issues so this is important to me. I have only used these once so time will tell how they will do over time.

I took these poles up Humphrey's Peak( 12, 633 feet) and these poles performed GREAT! This is my second set of CMT poles and much like the first set, they work super well. They are very easy to adjust, very durable, and the extra accessories are nice to have too for various conditions and terrain. I had several `` pole bender '' moments where I could have damaged my poles, however these held up and I did not end up doing any damage to them. I look forward to using them this summer as I continue to chase summits.

This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

This is a lightweight backpack that I feel is a good balance of capacity and comfort. Lightweight but durable fabric. It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. Has many pockets and comes with a rain shield in a bottom pocket to cover the whole backpack in the rain. The chest and waist clips to secure the backpack are comfortable too. This backpack also has a central zipper down the middle which would help you reach anything inside easily, even in the bottom of the pack.

I am typically of the belief that you get what you pay for, so I was wary of these poles, but I thought for the price I could n't go too far wrong, as you can easily pay 3 to 4 times for poles like these. I 'm an avid hiker and have been using poles for years. I also do n't just use them to steady myself, but to propel me forward, and to cushion me going downhill, so I am pretty hard on them. Just got back from a 24+ mile day hike up Half Dome and Glacier Point and the poles worked great. BTW, if you are going to use poles; put your hands through the loops the correct way- up from the bottom, like a cross country skier.

I bought these poles for a few days of hiking in the Adirondacks and they are amazing. Light, durable and easy to adjust. I even saw a few others on the trails with these same poles which is always a good sign. I looked around and did some research before purchasing and like others have written, other poles of equal quality cost 3x or 4x more. And if you 've never hied with trekking poles, give it a try, makes all the difference in the world!

This thing is awesome! I was debating between this and the heavier version by Sea to Summit, but I 'm glad I got this version as it is incredibly tiny when in it's sack and lightweight. Definitely worth the extra cost! It takes the place of a backpack cover, rain jacket, tarp, and( potentially) rain pants in your pack, while being smaller and lighter than any of those items by themselves! The stuff sack is small( which can be a positive when considering the amount of room you save in your pack) however I was, with some effort, able to get it back in effectively after removing it for use. I am excited to continue to put this thing to the test here in the PNW where rains are, at times, incessant. I do find myself wondering if further enhancement of design could enable better protection from rain for the arms, however I understand that this is a tarp/ poncho combo, so it would be a challenge that would likely drive up price a bit as well and would add material in random places when being used as a tarp. Thanks for the awesome product Sea to Summit!

[ I got this pack for longer day hikes, and specifically for an upcoming trip. Have n't used it for said trip yet, but have used it on local hikes to get a good feel for it and it checks all my boxes. It's uncomplicated( just one main compartment with some exterior storage) and I love the padded hipbelt. Also like the fact that there's compatibility for a water bladder. The side pockets stretch enough to accommodate the large nalgene, and there's a small zipper compartment at top for keys, wallet, etc.

This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

I love these shoes. So easy to slip on and off, and great traction for rain/muddy conditions. They ’ re also very cute.

Excellent fit and feel with the padded tongue giving extra stability and more security over the regular Agility Peak. Also love the quick lace slide and the cushion sole. My normal size fit perfectly. I would like more hunter colors and I love a black sole which does n't show dirt like white. This has become my favorite pair to wear everywhere due to the comfort they give my feet and the overall quality. They just feel great at any pace and any where.

Have worn these shoes a little over a month. Primarily for everyday use. The shoe is attractive and looks well built. The lugs on the sole are aggressive making it great for wearing on snow and ice. The shoe also has amble cushioning. They can be worn all day with little foot fatigue. The fit is true to size. I wear a medium width. The down sides are for me a little difficult to get the shoe on. The loops that are used to pull the shoe on are too small making it difficult to slide on without breaking down the backs. Also the bungee shoe strings do n't seem to stay tight. I 'm considering going to laces. A good value for the money.

In an attempt to try one- bag traveling, I went on a search for a versatile pack that can be carried on a flight and is easy to walk around with for a while in a city. I ’ m a recovering over- packer. What I ’ ve found is that this pack fits everything you need as long as you can do laundry. I can very comfortably fit about 7 outfits( mostly packable clothing), undergarments for 7 days, 2 pairs of pajamas, sandals, and a pair of tennis shoes. Not to mention, all of my necessary toiletries fit, I can throw my laptop in the dedicated sleeve, and have my reusable water bottle in the side pocket. And that ’s just the main pack. What really sold me on this pack is the detachable sling bag. When flying, I put the main bag overhead and have the sling bag under the seat in front of me. This allows me to have all my necessities( headphones, chargers, etc) easily accessible without compromising my leg room like a regular sized backpack might.

I bought this for a couple upcoming international trips. The top is easy to zip on and off, and I really enjoyed having my hands free to navigate the airport chaos. The thin side pocket is perfect for sliding in your phone and passport and keeping chapstick handy. The pack sits comfortably and was easy to adjust. My only complaint is that I really haven ’ t found a good function for the zippered pouch in the bottom of the bag. My shoes fit but were not able to lay flat and I wasn ’ t big enough for all my delicates. This is only my first trip so I ’ m sure it will find its purpose in future trips.

Completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few weeks ago. Out of 8 people in our group there were 5 of us wearing Osprey packs. I had the Scarab 30 and loved it. We hiked in sun and rain, hot and cold, through wood and over rock fields. This pack was on my back every day every step of the way. The bladder was full with an extra bottle of water on the side at the waist belt and the bag was full with essentials for weather swap outs and everything i needed to get from A to B and survive without my big duffel. It never chafed my shoulders or waist, felt great on my back and did n't sweat me up by allowing air to flow around it. It was exactly the right choice. The design of the bladder makes it very easy to fill and shove back in its home. the only thing i would change or add would be a cover over the drinking port. We were dropping our packs in a lot of places, on trails in Tea houses, coffee houses and different temples, everywhere and the drinking port always ended up on the ground. Would of been nice to have some sort of cover.

I love this pack! It's big enough to hold everything I need for a long day of hiking. Holds lots of water, all the zippers are strong, the size of the compartments are perfect. I ca n't say enough about this pack! And Osprey as a company is fantastic, they stand behind their packs and fix any issues you may have. I wo n't buy a pack from any other company but Osprey! Highly recommended!

Pound for pound the best two person backpacking tent I have used. I have used many different brands. This tent replaces a five year old MSR Hubba Hubba. This tent has much taller and straighter side walls. I am 6 ’ 4 ” and I had plenty of leg room. My partner is a petite women and I do think it would be tight for two large men. I have only used it once am pleased with the purchase so far. I did get rid of all the stuff sacks and replaced the with the one from my Hubba Hubba. I kept the pole/light tube.

A car, backpacking or lightweight tent. Easy to set up and easier to fall asleep inside. Tons of room. Can do full set up with fly, no stakes, fly only( with ground cloth), tent only or shade only options. Worth the cost.

I 've owned a lot of tents in my life.. but this one takes the cake!! Do n't get me wrong, I love my Kelty TN2, but the Telos TR2 is half the weight and has more interior room, plus it packs down to almost nothing which I love!! Anyways, if you 're an avid backpacker, do yourself a favor and go get this tent! Seriously, you wo n't regret it!!!

I love how tiny this packs up- I take it on every trip. The fact that it's waterproof means I can take it on river trips or Italian boardwalks and never worry about my belongings surviving rainstorms or splashes. My only complaint is that it's just one giant open pocket, but the cinch straps on the front make it easy to decrease the size of the pack when carrying smaller loads.

The Ultra- Sil Dry Day Pack is uber lightweight for a dry bag/ backpack combo. It packs up into its own small 3 '' carry bag so it's great and small to keep in a purse or laptop bag for availability on the go. The drypack carries a lot and feels sturdy on your bag. It does n't bounce around even when half full. When full, you still hardly notice it's on your back. We used it for long hikes and to keep my camera dry in the case of a rain shower. It worked well! At the top of the pack is a buckle that allows you to roll down the top of the pack and buckle it, thus keeping moisture out. This particular bag is slightly harder to pack into its own carry bag overall, unlike the Ultra- Sil Daypack. The top buckle is harder to repack into the carry bag. I found myself packing it 75% of the way in and letting the carabiner and buckle hang outside of the carry bag. Not ideal but liveable for such a lightweight, capable dry bag. Outside of the drypack are stretchable tie- downs that can hold a jacket or other items outside of the bag. These are good for jacket but I 'd be careful with heavier items that could slip out.

I love it and would absolutely recommend it. So nice to have when traveling and you do not know what the weather or activity will be, or if you may need a spare bag. It can be tricky to put back into the bag but memorize the way it came and it normally goes back in. Overall it is a well though out design.

[ This is a very high- quality product. Carrying heavy loads is really nice with this. I chose black because it appears that the packs appear much brighter in real life than in the photos. Black looks amazing with yellow interwoven threads in the AG area. Just a work of art!

[ This bag is super high quality, you can feel it in the material and just how well it fits to you with the anti gravity technology. There are a good amount of pockets to sperate certain gear but not to many to being useless. The bag is definitely not for ultralight backpackers but is perfect for backpackers who appreciate being comfortable.

[ I 'd been using my old pack for 20 years and just bought the Osprey Atmos 65. I just came back from a five day trip in the Beartooths( Montana) and I was glad to have the new pack. It definitely put the weight on my hips and was much easier on my shoulders than my old pack. The suspension system was also great, making this a more comfortable backpack. It's almost 4 pounds lighter than my previous pack as well. I 've only used it 5 days, so ca n't really comment on the long- term durability. I 've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders over the past 2 1/2 years so my shoulders appreciated the new pack as well. Very pleased so far.

[ This pack is the perfect size for anything from a weekend to a full week of backpacking. It is very comfortable and can adjust to just about any size. Love this backpack. I do wish they made it in a varietie of colors, specially Venom. If so I would buy another. The pack does it all. It handles everything you throw at it and let's not get started on the zipper aspect. Perfect size for weekends trips in the back country. When you put this pack on the comfortability is second to none. Truly a pack that is so comfy you forget you even have it on. It distributes the weight like no other. I have wore a lot of packs and this one sets the tone. Keep up the good work Yeti!!!
When selecting trekking gear, consider factors such as the type of terrain you'll be navigating, the duration of your trek, and the weather conditions. Look for gear that offers durability, comfort, and functionality to enhance your hiking experience. Additionally, assess the weight of the gear, as lighter options can make long treks more manageable.
Trekking gear is often made from a variety of materials designed for durability and performance. Common materials include lightweight aluminum or carbon fiber for poles, breathable fabrics for clothing, and waterproof materials for outer layers. Understanding the materials can help you choose gear that meets your specific needs for comfort and protection.
The design of trekking gear plays a crucial role in its performance, affecting factors like stability, weight distribution, and ease of use. Ergonomic designs can enhance comfort during long hikes, while features like adjustable lengths and collapsible options can improve portability. Choosing well-designed gear can significantly enhance your trekking experience.
Essential trekking gear typically includes items such as trekking poles for stability, appropriate footwear for traction, and weather-appropriate clothing for protection against the elements. Depending on the length and difficulty of your hike, you may also need additional items like hydration systems, navigation tools, and first aid supplies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
To ensure your trekking gear lasts for multiple seasons, it's important to choose high-quality materials and products that are designed for durability. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and proper storage, can also extend the lifespan of your gear. Additionally, selecting versatile items that can adapt to different conditions will help you get the most use out of your investment.
