This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. This backpack is well proportioned and has all of the right amount of pockets for storage of all sizes of items for your journey. It is also comfortable to wear which is a must. My only complaints are two minor things. First, the bottom zipper where the sleeping bag goes can get stuck easily on the zipper guard/overhang. Second, the padding on the waistline can soak up a lot of sweat. But overall a great backpack and looks cool too. I will keep it for years to come.

I bought this bag to use on a weekend hike on the AT with my thru hiking son. The bag served it ’s purpose. I was able to carry everything I needed easily in the main compartment and brain. The zip pockets on the outside are pretty useless once the main compartment is filled. Same with the water bladder. I did not use it. For the money though it ’s a good bag. It was comfortable on two 10 mile days from McAfee Knob trailhead to Daleville, VA. My torso measurement was 18 and I used the small setting on the adjuster. I tried the medium setting but the shoulder straps did not lay correctly on my back.

I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

This 45 L pathway 2 backpack is likely my favorite in a lot of ways. The waist strap is great with good cushioning, preferable imo to the current sytle of thin straps. The chest strap is nice too, adjustable height. The layout of pockets is pretty much spot on on this bag, I could n't ask for a better design. Even compared to more expensive brands. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I love my Big Agnes 32L pack for long trips abroad but sometimes you need a smaller pack for hikes, light travel, etc. This Osprey fills the bill and I am very impressed with the design. They are well known for the quality and it is obvious in this pack.

This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

Had the older version of the Terra and this one is a huge upgrade. The hip pockets are clutch, and the beaver pouch on the front lets you stash wet/stinky clothes away from all your freshies inside.
