[ I bought this harness a few months ago and it had arrived after about 5 days. This harness I plan to stick with this for years to come. This harness is lightweight for all of the equipment loops with are very nicely made and the rigid loops at the front do their job. I am very pleased with petzls redesign of this harness!

[ I absolutely love this harness. The quality is amazing and it adjust to fit perfectly no matter what I am waring. I added the new petzl ice clip and it couldn ’ t be a better fit. This harness is amazingly comfortable, I bought it to to do tree work and belay my kids but my new Battman Belt has renewed my sense of adventure so I am planning exciting climbing and repelling adventures for my kids and I. [ So happy with this harness. Easy to put on, Feels great, light, and keeps your straps out of your way. The belay loop is also slimmer than those super wide belay loops which is nice because it stays out of your way when being belayed. No negatives. A+++

[ I have been climbing for 30 years in total and in various iterations of this harness for a long time now. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of function, fit, and durability, and especially price. One of the things that I like most about it are the gear loops. A lot of brands put their loops too low on the harness in my opinion, which causes gear to hang down around your lower leg. I prefer things to sit higher so that everything is tighter to my body when I move. The harness trad climbs and sport climbs equally well. The only downside to it is the weight being a little on the heavy side. I prefer a 32 inch waist in pants and wear a size medium in this harness, which puts me at the bottom end of the fit and allows me to cinch the waist within a cm of all the way down. This puts the gear loops more towards the front. When you look at the size range for a harness, always make sure to consider that the measurement will be smaller than your waist size because you wear it above your hips.

[ I work at a university gym and am constantly giving long catches to new climbers who take tons of falls. This harness is a solid gym contender with great belay comfort and has the perfect amount of storage for multiple belay devices, a PAS, and extra carabiners and slings. If you ’ re looking for a no frills do all harness this is it.
5

[ This harness is simple but effective. No frills, only what you need. The leg straps do n't need to be tightened since all you really need to stay safe is a tight hip harness, so it makes it really comfy to put on.

[ I 've had a couple of Petzl SAMA harnesses that each lasted for years. The indoor/gym harness in particular stayed so fresh that people asked if it was a new harness for a couple years after purchase. But it was really the fit( with just a little padding), foolproof elastic leg loops, and bomber durability that brought me back for the 3rd time. The only real differences with the current version is that it looks better than ever. The heather gray is understated and contemporary- it 'll accent your insanely bright puffer or shoes. Will definitely buy again.

[ I got this carabiner for both caving and climbing belay. For caving I like it on my bobbin because it prevent crossloading when you are doing change overs and rebelays. For climbing it has been great to keep things properly orientated. Love the color too!!
5
asdf
[ The purpose of this biner is to avoid cross- loading while belaying. Pros:- Easy to install on belay loop.- Does n't require opening the gate to open the belay- loop lock( like the BD one does).- Has a thick spine and large locking barrel to prevent a gri- gri from sliding in either direction.- The locking barrel is damped, and so does n't move if rattled while not locked all the way.- The locking barrel has a lot of extra travel- even if it started to come open, it would have to twist many times before allowing the gate to open.- Belay- loop lock spring tension is nice and high.- Quite light for the functionality! Cons:- The belay- loop gate makes racking a gri- gri on your harness slightly more awkward.( The grigri ends up sitting at the large end, and the wire gate sits on your gear loop).- The wide spine( a feature noted above) reduces the versatility of the biner, since it does n't fit into small holes( bolts, etc) as easily. But that's alright, since it's meant just for belaying anyway.

[ I am a double leg amputee at the knees with a center of gravity located in my upper chest. This harness fits really well and suspends me properly without feeling like I 'm going to flip over. Adjustability comes from the shoulder and leg straps only, but they work in tandem to accommodate my unconventional body shape. Being suspended in mid- air is comfortable enough for sport climbing. You would n't want to hang out all day, but 5- 10 minute durations are manageable.

This harness is comfortable for a full day in the alpine. I spent 16+ hours wearing this harness scrambling, alpine trad climbing, rappelling, and doing some sketchy snow crossings. While a bit heavier than some of the Petzl options it ’s 100% worth it for the comfort.
5
James B
I bought this harness because I wanted a low weight, compact harness for mountain guiding and glacier travel. It worked perfectly and was super comfortable to wear while traversing the glacier even with my backpack on. Also, in general it is a really comfortable harness to wear for top rope and gym lead. I have n't used it for sport or trad yet, but I 'll update when I have.
5
I originally got this harness for ice climbing as it has 6 different ice tool clipper spots( on both sides, 12 total) of the waist. This allowed me to put my ice tool clippers exactly where I wanted them versus where they have to be on other harnesses. It is very lightweight with functional gear loops. I recently took it alpine climbing and it felt awesome having it on all day, even through the more scrambly areas of the climb. Would highly recommend especially for women that have a bigger chest or hips and need to put ice tool clippers in specific spots in order to see them. I have a Large which works great with winter layers but I could have also fit a medium. I am 5' 6 '' and 170 lbs.
5
Somehow this harness has less padding and is lighter weight than the Ophir slide or the black diamond momentum harness, but is actually more comfortable when sitting in it for a long time. I 'd highly recommend if you have a bit more money to throw in for a harness that you want to be lightweight and still comfy. Fits true to size.
5
Amazin harness which is surprisingly comfortable and does not consume any space in the backpack. I am using it for trad climbing. I climb with 14 cams, 12 slings, and three sets of nuts/tricams. I also carry cordlette, belay device and bunch of lockers. All these can be comfortably clipped to the harness. The front gear loops are bigger and the gear is easy to unclip/clip. I use the front gear loops for cams and draws. The rear loops I use for nuts, lockers and belay devices. The harness has also a small gear loop at the rear in the middle. I use this for the nut tool and sometimes the radio. The harness feels good on my body and I do n't even feel it while climbing. The only little thing I found is the seem in front without any padding pushing against my bones. I did not experience it with my previous harness ocun Ego. Anyway, it is not too annoying and I might get used to it very soon.

Got this for glacier travel. It's not the absolute lightest and smallest on the market, but it's comfortable and very easy to put on and take off. Gear loops work well. I have n't tested it in really extreme conditions yet, but I anticipate it holding up well. My only( minor) wish is that it came in a color besides white; it has n't gotten too dirty- looking yet, but I anticipate that will change as I use it more!

I ’ ve used numerous harnesses for Mountaineering and so far this is my favorite. It ’s light, easily adjustible, comfortable, and has enough attachments points to carry the essentials.
5
Have used other light weight harnesses especially BD. While they have served great and fine but needed more security for glacial peaks& mountains like Denali and Rainier. The solid loops to hang carabiners gives that peace of mind. Bottomline- lightest and strongest in the market. Petzel Altitude comes right close but I like Mammut colors as they are visible in whiteout or glacial peaks like Denali, Rainier, 8000m,.
5
I bought this originally for rescue in my job as a ski patroller and have found myself bringing it on every ski touring trip where I may need a harness instead of my BD Couloir. While the Mammut does not pack down as small it is more robust and comfortable. The small bit of extra size and weight is negligible in my opinion.

Super lightweight harness great for ski traverses. The sizing is a bit smaller than expected.
4
This is a great ultralight harness& super versatile and comfortable( for what it is). Excellent functionality and some of the best racking on this type of harness. Super light and compact too. I prefer this to the Petzl Fly. That said- the sizing is off. I 'm a 32 '' waist and based on Mammut's sizing chart I should be a comfortable medium. In reality I barley squeeze into the medium's hip belt. I have thick legs and the legs are fine though. Overall, I 'd highly recommend this harness, with the caviot that folks should try it on in- store. Hopeful that Mammut can address the sizing issue, but likely plan to size up on this harness. Would be 5 stars, but for the sizing issue.

[ I bought this as a birthday gift for my climbing partner but definitely plan on borrowing it. I have found that other one- shouldered gear slings can make me super heady when leading due to the weight distribution, but the way this gear sling distributes the weight and makes it so your gear does n't slide forward is awesome! The backpack pocket is too small for a Nalgene bottle, but would be perfect for sunscreen and chapstick.

We have been having our kids belay us with the pilot( with someone backing them up). Adds a nice bit of security. We also use the guide ATC for multipitch and a gri gri. [ I have had this for a couple months. Wearing it is comfortable, and the gear loops work well. I really like having two belay loops too. It is uncomfortable to hang in for long periods of time, and because part of the waist band is not stitched to the tightening strap, it can be a little annoying to get on just right. For trad climbing or multipitching without hanging belays, it's great. It just wo n't replace a sport climbing harness.
4
moutaingoat333
[ I really like my Metolius Harness and that basically everything on this harness is a hard point. The waist buckle is an update from their old double back buckles( they are still on the leg loops which make adjustment a little tenuous) which is bomber. Contrary to many waist buckles, this one latches down on the nylon strap when it is tightened inhibiting any accidental openings of the waist strap. I think this is an improvement in speed of putting on the harness over the old double back buckles that you had to feed through each for adjustment. The foam padding is concentrated which could make long hanging belays a little uncomfortable.

Great harness with a wide range of fit! I am on the larger size of humans, and this harness fits great! Other reviews stated this was a good beginner harness, the rest is to be determined.

[ I wanted my new harness to have a waist and leg loops that could be opened completely so I can put it on when wearing crampons, skis, or do n't feel like standing on one foot while putting it on. I was pleased that the gear lops and the ice clippers I added are lined up evenly on both sides when the waist is adjusted.( I have a 32 inch waist and got the large harness because the leg loop size matched my leg measurements.) It's light and does n't take up much space in my pack.

I 'm 5'10 '' and about 250, and the XL fit with room to spare, but the legs did n't have much more room to grow. I love the accessory hooks and elastic components that add a lot of comfort. I also appreciate that they built in material alerts if things are fraying or wearing out. I know that the white will get dirty, but it looks great, is built well, and I really appreciate that it comes with the bag... although it's hard to fit in there after you unfold it.

I have ran through my previous orphir 3 slide and it is a fantastic overall beginner/intermediate harness. Overall use it for gym and outdoor climbing. I am more into comfort padded climbing harnesses vs lightweight and non adjustable climbing harnesses. The adjustable leg straps and hip are great and can fit me and friends if they borrow the harness. I like the wear stitching being bright red and easy to locate/see is fantastic. I also love the semi hard gear loops they can fit all my quick drawers and climbing gear when outside. Overall would definitely recommend this harness to anyone looking for a comfy great harness.

I 've been using the ophir 3 for 5 years and have had zero complaints about it. although I do n't get to climb as often as I used to, it still is very comfortable and sturdy and I have no concerns going on a climb. I have no doubt that this harness will serve me for several more years, and when I finally do have to lay it to rest, I would buy another mammut harness. 5/5 stars. Definitely recommend.

So I finally was able to use the harness due to the gym being closed, but the waist portion is a great material and doesn ’ t feel uncomfortable. The attachment loop for the d ring in the front is solid and I feel safe when climbing. The only complaint I have is the leg straps hurt when being belayed. I would recommend this to anyone getting into rock climbing. It ’s an overall well viewed brand and great product.

[ I bought this to replace a light rock climbing harness I had been using for home maintenance safety( tree and rooftop work). I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. I 'm sure the SRT Harness would be more comfortable for hanging by a rope all day, for limiting hanging this harness was comfortable and secure enough and at less than half the price). It feels totally secure... no slipping, no binding, and I 'm able to adjust it for a great fit. Typical high- quality Petzl product. Worth every penny.

I bought this harness back in 2018 prior to going ice climbing for the first time, I have n't found one I like nearly as much since. For a lightweight harness; it's well padded, durable, packs super small, has all the gear loops I need and I LOVE the fifth gear loop. When I 'm trad or multi- pitch climbing I really appreciated that added organization. Detachable leg loops are also another thing I like about this harness, as I see a lot of lighter weight harnesses relying on elastic non- adjustable. The detachable feature gives more options for bathroom use and layering more comfortably when on longer/alpine style routes.

I ’ ve tried lots of harnesses and always end up coming back to the solution as my go to sport climbing harness. Is it the lightest in the line? No. But not by much, and it ’s so comfortable for long belays typical of outdoor sport projecting. Highly recommend.

I 've been climbing in the Solution harness for over 10 years now. This harness is my go to for hard sport sends and big days in the alpine. It really does do it all. [ I 've owned one of these for a year and used several times for glacier travel in the Cascades, including a mountaineering course on Mt. Baker during which I was suspended in a crevasse with this harness for 15 to 20 minutes while others were learning how to haul me out. Despite it being so light, it's actually surprisingly comfortable due to the fairly wide, flat leg loops. It's also very easy to get on and off while wearing crampons or skis, which is essential for an alpine harness.

[ I bought this harness a month ago so that I have an extra to take friends climbing who do n't have their own gear. The harness is simple and easy to use but comfortable for an alpine bod. I bought it in a small and the size range is a bit more narrow than I expected but it still works. I made a 6' 1 '' friend squeeze into it. He complained a bit but it got the job done. I have been using this device for a long while now and it is my go to for my regular gym sessions. I 've used it extensively for lead and found it's very easy to feed out slack and it locks reasonably well. Wo n't be quite as good as the gri- gri or pinch for falls but I have n't found that to be an issue.

Excellent device for lead belay. Very easy to use. After trying the Petzl NEOX a few times, I still prefer the 2. 0
5
James K
Device performs well, pays out clean and catches well skills with an ATC transfer well to this. If there is a large weight difference between the climber and belayer where the climber is the heavier it will be a bit jumpy when lowering in my experience. It takes a bit of learning to use this I would look up a video on how to operate it first. Overall a great cost effective alternative to a moving parts ABD.

This harness is so comfortable and light. Completely unnoticeable while climbing. Really enjoy how it moves. Definitely a sport climbing harness. At 5 ’ 11 ” 165 with a 32 inch waste the large fits great. Gear loops are definitely low profile. I can fit about 14 draws on the first set of rigid gear loops. Back gear loop are definitely a just incase being that they are just webbing. Was more comfortable than I thought while belaying. Wouldn ’ t want to hang in it for extended periods of time but plenty comfortable for hangdoggin up a route. A+ all around.

A purchase for my wife. This was to replace her BD Momentum harness. She really likes it. Initially she was worried the leg straps would be too tight but after wearing them for a top/lead session at our local gym she felt they were simply felt 'snug', and not uncomfortable at all. She was also really pleased at how breathable the harness is. One can get pretty sweaty under the Momentum, but that is not the case with the Airnet. This is an example of when a products name does in fact describe its actual qualities.

[ I 've been using this to sport climb indoors for the past few weeks, and it's been excellent so far. Incredibly lightweight and low profile, and surprisingly comfortable. It feels like you 're not even wearing a harness. It fits on the smaller size, so I went one size up from my momentum harness, and it fits perfect. The gear loops are pretty thin, so I 'm not sure if I would lead outdoors in this unless the draws were already set. Overall, an excellent purchase!

[ I bought this rope about 7 years ago and am getting ready to retire it. It's been a great rope. It handles well and works great for top roping and sport( I 've taken it on trad climbs too, but just been the follower). It's a little thicker than lots of ropes out there now, but great for durability and an excellent beginner rope. It was stiff at first but after a few falls and uses it's great. This rope is a great price point compared with others. Petzl has great products. I 'd highly recommend this rope to anyone looking to get into climbing outside that needs a workhorse for all different kinds of climbing. It works with ATC and Grigri.

[ Overall, this backpack is great. It fits an 80m rope, two helmets, plenty of quickdraws, shoes, harness and more( although its a tight fit with all of those things). The backpack design is good, and i like that the front of the backpack is what touches the ground, not the side that goes on your back. My only complaint is that the backpack is very simple- there are no loops to clip stuff onto, or pockets for waterbottles, which is a bit annoying if you need to hike a bit. Overall a fantastic bag, especially for the price!!

This is a great harness. Perfect for the gym since it's a single adjustment and easy to put on and take off. I think if I was sitting in it for any amount of time, I 'd prefer a 4 slide, but this is preferred for gym climbing. I have a 30 '' waist and the medium just barely fits, but works perfectly. If you have smaller than a 30 '' waist, I would recommend a small.
5
Easy to use, straight forward buckle, comfortable. Great for gym climbing at a minimum, draw loops are light but stand up well. Should be good for sport as well.
5
This harness is perfect for climbing short to medium pitches but once you have been in it for an extended amount of time it can get a little uncomfortable. I wore it while setting a top rope and was in it for over an hour and it was really comfortable for the time 30 mins but after that it started to be uncomfortable. But to about 90% of potential buyers this harness is perfect and lightweight for sport climbing. Also for figment I 'm a 32 waist and I fit snugly in the small.

Clip version, first impressions: amazing construction, very rigid, fits my size 46 Scarpa Ribelle HD very well with a few pins left for even bigger boots, sharp enough out- of- the- box, feels very stable and comfortable to walk in, reasonable weight. I will update the review if any issues arise, but from the initial testing- these are one of the tougher crampons I 've ever tried. Good job, Black Diamond! The only suggestion: at this level of quality, Black Diamond would reduce it's profit merely by a margin of a percentile point by including a soft and light cordura or similar tougher material bag for the crampons. All those bigger `` crampon bags ''( BD has one sold separately too) are not really needed in the field( too much space/weight), thus a simple bag, where one could put the crampons( tied together, teeth inside) just to separate them from the rest of the gear, would do miracles:) P. S. I 've just looked around my gear and somehow see 70- 80% of it being from BD. Need to add a disclosure on my helmet or somewhere else visible that I 'm not actively promoting you: D
When choosing climbing safety gear, consider factors such as the type of climbing you will be doing, the gear's weight, and its durability. Look for equipment that meets safety standards and is made from high-quality materials. Comfort and fit are also crucial, as well as the ease of use during climbs.
Proper sizing for climbing safety gear is essential for both comfort and safety. Most manufacturers provide sizing charts based on measurements such as waist and leg circumference for harnesses. Always try on gear before purchasing, and ensure it fits snugly without being restrictive.
For beginners, essential climbing safety gear typically includes a harness, helmet, and climbing shoes. A belay device is also important for safely managing the rope during climbs. As you progress, you may want to invest in additional gear such as carabiners and protection devices.
It's crucial to inspect your climbing safety gear before each use. Look for signs of wear and tear, such as frayed straps, damaged buckles, or cracks in helmets. Regular maintenance and proper storage can extend the life of your gear and ensure your safety while climbing.
Many climbing safety gear items are versatile and can be used for various types of climbing, including sport, trad, and indoor climbing. However, some gear may be specifically designed for certain activities, so it's important to choose equipment that matches your climbing style and environment.
