This rope is light and durable. I mainly use mine for taller routes and multi pitch as mine is an 80m and I like the diameter of the rope as well at a 9. 4. It's not the lightest rope but I sill love it and do n't mind hauling it. I 'd recommend to beginners, intermediate and experts alike. It will get the job done and well. Just keep it flaked properly to avoid twisting.

[ I have been climbing for 30 years in total and in various iterations of this harness for a long time now. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of function, fit, and durability, and especially price. One of the things that I like most about it are the gear loops. A lot of brands put their loops too low on the harness in my opinion, which causes gear to hang down around your lower leg. I prefer things to sit higher so that everything is tighter to my body when I move. The harness trad climbs and sport climbs equally well. The only downside to it is the weight being a little on the heavy side. I prefer a 32 inch waist in pants and wear a size medium in this harness, which puts me at the bottom end of the fit and allows me to cinch the waist within a cm of all the way down. This puts the gear loops more towards the front. When you look at the size range for a harness, always make sure to consider that the measurement will be smaller than your waist size because you wear it above your hips.

[ I 've had a couple of Petzl SAMA harnesses that each lasted for years. The indoor/gym harness in particular stayed so fresh that people asked if it was a new harness for a couple years after purchase. But it was really the fit( with just a little padding), foolproof elastic leg loops, and bomber durability that brought me back for the 3rd time. [ I bought this rope about 7 years ago and am getting ready to retire it. It's been a great rope. It handles well and works great for top roping and sport( I 've taken it on trad climbs too, but just been the follower). It's a little thicker than lots of ropes out there now, but great for durability and an excellent beginner rope. It was stiff at first but after a few falls and uses it's great. In my pack I can fit my shoes( on the outside), harness, a 70m rope, belay devices, anchor materials, and a helmet with some room to spare. Especially like the mesh pocket on the outside for shoes and lid bag for phone, snacks and even a small zippered pocket for keys/wallet. Nothings getting lost at the crag. [ A simple, rock- centric piece of equipment. The size is perfect for a day of cragging or multi pitch routes. The shape and design make it super easy to load and unload. It's streamlined without all the fussy straps and buckles that typically get hung up in tight approaches or hauling. No ice axe loops either, this is a pure rock pack. I like that the main compartment is accessed with only one top zipper... there's no reason to have a zillion ways to get inside a 40L bag. I can load it with a large rack and webbing, a rope, water bottle and jacket with room to spare. It feels solid on my back, and carries great. The top compartment is roomy, and also accessible with a single zipper, and there is a realistically- sized zippered pocket for iPhone and/or keys. The waterproof outer material seems bomber, and built like a tank, except for the webbing strap on the waist belt which seems a bit thin, but no big deal. The waist belt itself is sturdy enough and includes small gear loops on each hip. The included mini tarp is a thoughtful touch, though I personally wish it were larger. Outside mesh pockets for shoes and chalk bag are a nice convenience. There are other similar packs out there, but this one was a big bang for the buck. Lastly, it's cool looking, I get compliments all the time.

This helmet is so comfortable and light I forget I have it on. I repeatedly hiked out of ice crags and alpine environments not realizing I ’ m wearing my helmet until I knocked it on the roof of my car while getting in. The best helmet is the one you don ’ t know you ’ re wearing. I previously had an old petzl hard shell helmet and while comfortable, you knew you were wearing a helmet. We ’ ll see how this holds up long term, but after most of an ice climbing season, it ’s still pristine.

I 've used this solely for outdoor rock climbing so far. It's been amazing. The helmet is extremely breathable. It manages to stay on your head while your shifting it around, due to the highly adjustable fit. Numerous people have used it, and its been well liked due the the adjustability. I have used it in cold and rainy weather, and it fits seamlessly into my Mammut Eiger Extreme shell. Overall a great helmet for getting into climbing.

I 've purchased many helmets for climbing/scrambling, and this is by far my favorite. It is lightweight enough that I barely notice it on my head or attached to my pack, it's extremely comfortable, and it fits over a hat if I want to wear one. I also like the low- fuss adjustments of the soft nylon straps in the back, which other helmets that I 've tried often make out of hard plastic, which can be uncomfortable. It fits snug, and though I( thankfully) have n't had to test its performance in a fall/during rockfall, I have no doubt it will do its job. I was a little worried about the durability of the exposed foam, but after carrying it through a heavy hailstorm and generally banging it around in the back of the car or on whatever summit I take it off on, I ca n't spot a single dent.

[ This is a good low profile( particularly top to bottom length) alternative to the Rock Prodigy Training center if you are looking for a good hangboard and have limited space( i. e., just a doorway and no dedicated space in an rental apartment). While it does n't have as many holds as the Training Center, it has more than enough to be of benefit regardless of your ability- I currently max out at V9- V10 outdoors and I get a good workout on the board( I can see the holds being difficult at body weight if you are just starting out, but that's where you set up a pulley system and take weight off; if you climb harder you do the same but go one handed). It does have features that the Training Center does n't quite have( crimps). If you are not accustomed to the Training Center, let me just say that these are not your typical hangboards. The two piece design is one of those extremely simple, but extraordinarily useful innovations( more usable holds, more comfort- you are trying to minimize injuries to your shoulders). Further, the holds are well designed- they went out of their way to make them comfortable and non- tweaky. A lot of thought seems to have gone into designing a hangboard that allows you to build finger strength while minimizing pain and injury.

I bought this after training on the rock prodigy training center( RPTC) at a friends garage. The pockets on the RPTC never felt quite right. The large pockets were too large and would pull on my skin and the smalls were too difficult without taking off a good deal of weight with the pulleys. The drafted pockets feel way better on the forge. They are slightly angled downward so there is no gap created by the first joint. The variable depth rail is also smaller compared the the RPTC. The thumb catch on the crimp is fantastic and keeps you from putting too much pressure on the index. The texture is a bit finer and more comfortable than the original. Altogether, this board is more difficult than the original. I would say if you are pulling in the v6 range and want a great hangboard then look no further. The Anderson bros market this board as complimentary to the original suggesting you buy both. However, I see no need for this after trying out both boards. The forge is more difficult, but much more ergonomic. Hangboarding should get you stronger, not build your pain tolerance.

Got this for glacier travel. It's not the absolute lightest and smallest on the market, but it's comfortable and very easy to put on and take off. Gear loops work well. I have n't tested it in really extreme conditions yet, but I anticipate it holding up well. My only( minor) wish is that it came in a color besides white; it has n't gotten too dirty- looking yet, but I anticipate that will change as I use it more!

Have used other light weight harnesses especially BD. While they have served great and fine but needed more security for glacial peaks& mountains like Denali and Rainier. I bought this originally for rescue in my job as a ski patroller and have found myself bringing it on every ski touring trip where I may need a harness instead of my BD Couloir. While the Mammut does not pack down as small it is more robust and comfortable. The small bit of extra size and weight is negligible in my opinion.

I got this as my first rope, and I must say it was the correct decision. I have used it on all my climbing adventures, and I have n't noticed any damage through numerous falls. It's been rubbed up against rocks and has maintained the integrity of it's sheath. It's a rope I found just works with belay devices, and does n't have any of the annoying characteristics of some ropes; it does n't slide through or require excessive weight to let slack out.

This rope is extremely durable and reliable. I 've used it on lots of single and multi pitch routes on granite rock and it shows little sign of wear. I love having the dry rope over the regular crag rope; you 're always prepared for the weather. The first few uses the rope can feel really stiff but that works itself out rather easily.
