I garden, hunt, fish, camp and hike. To do any of the 4 things listed, I have to control the mosquitos. I would much prefer a Thermacell over any spray repellent. I read a negative review and had to respond. I wear my Thermacell on my belt and love it. It ’s wonderful to not have to cover my body in bug spray when enjoying the activilisted above!!!! I definitely recommend Thermacell, in fact, all Thermacells and refills are currently sold ou here in Fairbanks!!!! Thank you again for an incredible product.

Purchased this product to use the many times in the field/camping/hiking. It is perfect and well worth the money. The netting is a piece of cake to set up and take down. Can easily slide it to one side in case you want to just lounge in the hammock as a chair. Keeps all the bugs out, as well as provides a little extra warmth.

The Gaurdian length is a perfect match for my ENO Double Nest. Some other brand hammocks may be longer and require a little tweaking where the hammock suspension lines exit. Perfect for Coastal and Piedmont hanging. HYOH

[ I bought this shelter some time ago and I have used it on many outings with zero issues. The hammock is quite spacious to fit my large size( 6'7 '' and 315lbs). The sewn on bug netting works wonderful! I was on a reason weekend hike with a lot of no- see- um bugs that were never able to break though. I would highly recommend the tree straps they sell to hang the hammock. They give a lot of leeway for the spot you want to camp. The pack down weight is perfect for my style backpacking. Overall if you 're looking for a great three season hammock shelter without breaking the bank this is the one to buy!
Mosquito gear encompasses a variety of products designed to protect against insect bites during outdoor activities. This includes repellers that use heat or chemicals to deter mosquitoes, as well as nets that can be used over sleeping areas or hammocks. Additionally, there are clothing options treated with insect repellent to provide an extra layer of protection.
The effectiveness of mosquito repellers can vary based on the technology used and the environment in which they are deployed. Many repellers create a zone of protection by emitting scents or heat that mosquitoes find unappealing. It's important to consider factors such as wind and humidity, which can affect their performance.
Mosquito nets are typically made from lightweight, breathable materials that allow for airflow while providing a barrier against insects. Common materials include polyester and nylon, which are durable and resistant to tearing. Some nets may also feature additional treatments to enhance their insect-repelling properties.
The best time to use mosquito gear is during peak mosquito activity, which is usually dawn and dusk, especially in warmer months. If you're planning outdoor activities during these times, it's advisable to have your mosquito gear ready. Additionally, in areas with standing water or dense vegetation, mosquitoes are more prevalent, making gear essential.
Yes, using multiple types of mosquito gear in combination can enhance your protection against bites. For example, using a repeller alongside a mosquito net can create a more effective barrier. Layering protective clothing with repellent-treated fabrics can also provide additional safety, especially during extended outdoor activities.
