I took a knee right to the pavement at one point in a way that would have taken me out of commission for a few days in the past and I did n't feel a thing.( I was a little sore the next day, but as I said the kind of fall I had would normally have been a much more serious injury). For the usual bumps and falls, these things really do the job( especially when the board knocks your knees or you fall on an elbow doing a trick). A word of advice for McDavid: I think there is a really big untapped market for you guys in skateboarding.

I went down on my knees full force with her in my arms without feeling a thing and was able to keep her back and head off the ice at the same time. on another occasion I went down on my knees after catching my toe pick on a corner, bounced, and slid the rest of the way on my butt. Hightly recommended for figure skaters.
