I bought these for shin guards for softball( pitcher), after getting drilled in the thigh last season, I know it's matter of time before I take one in the shins. I 'm 5' 10 '' and went the 15 '' guards and they fit quit well. They cover a few inches above the knee and right above the top of my cleats. Very light weight so they do n't slow you do n't while running. Highly recommend for shin protection, hockey or softball.

The shin pad articulates at the knee AND the ankle, which enables you to bend your leg at an even greater angle to get more edge into the ice. we usually go through one pair a season. if your are ordering online keep in mind measurement is from bottom of pad to middle of knee. I measured his old pads overall size. so now i have to return for smaller size.
