I 've played for about a year now and have taken many lessons. Early on I bought an expensive paddle with excellent reviews. But I was getting frustrated with consistency and accuracy and took a chance getting this paddle because it promised control and accuracy over power. I 've had it for less than 2 weeks and it has totally changed my game. I feel like the king of drop shots now- they 're so easy and intuitive- the paddle feels like an extension of my hand. The spin created makes aggressive speed- ups that stay in- bounds so much easier. Off center hits do n't twist the paddle like before. Lacks the absolute power of my other paddle, but this works to my advantage because I do n't hit as many shots long and now focus on accuracy and finesse which ultimately wins more points.

We got a table that came with some paddles that were just the dimple rubber glued to the cheapest wood you can imagine. I hated the feel. I got this one because it had the soft, flat rubber but it was n't as expensive as some of the others. It does the job. The feel is good. I 've only played with Joola paddles, starting with the Hyperion 2 last year, then Perseus 2 amidst all the Gen 3 churn. Just got the Perseus 4, and it's definite upgrade- a much better paddle than I am player! The balance is definitely different than the Perseus 2, much lower and feels better to me. It has more power for returns and drives, but just playing with it twice I rarely hit it long( which I was doing all the time with the Perseus 2, while I adjusted to it from the Hyperion). Volleys are great, and best of all it has really good feel on drops and dinks. Spin is good too- you can see in the photo that the spin does n't come from surface grit so much as a woven pattern on the surface, which hopefully will last a long time. Great paddle- recommended!

I ’ ve tried a number of paddles over the last year… From CRBN, Pickleball Apes and Honolulu. All of them were solid offerings…. But when I tried a demo of the Airbender 16 at my local club, I knew I had found my paddle.
