I just visited London, walking 25k- 30k steps each day over the past four days. I wore these pants each day and have never been more comfortable! It rained on me, every single day while I was walking, and with no umbrella, the water repellant worked great. They are not water proof( neither is the jacket), so there were times when I could see that water had gotten into the material. But I never felt that I got wet, thanks to these pants and the matching jacket that I also wore on one of the days. I never leave clothing reviews, but after what I just put these pants through, and how well they have held up, they deserved a public 5 star recognition from me!

As always, the Smith Summit Pants deliver. This is my third pair, and I ’ ve owned every generation so far. The redesigned knee pockets are now placed more toward the front of the thigh instead of the side. I ’ m still getting used to this change and not sure yet if I prefer it, but the functionality seems about the same. I ’ m happy they brought back the snap button on the rear pocket — much better than the zipper from V2. The single- layer knee pockets are still a small letdown compared to the older double- pocket design. The added soft, stretchy lining on the inside of the waistband is a nice touch — feels great and adds comfort for all- day wear. Overall, still one of the best pairs of pants I ’ ve ever owned. I was kind of skeptical getting these considering the way the size is listed. Since I am tall, usually I have to be careful and most stuff is too short for the inseam length. I am 6 ’ 3 ” and 185lbs. This is my first Fjallraven pair of trousers. I 've previously bought from other outdoor brands. Pros: Material seems high quality and very breathable even with long johns underneath. It feels durable and the stitching is immaculate. It has a lot of ventilation pockets and deep storage pockets. Deep pocket placement is great so items wo n't poke you while walking or squatting/sitting. The ankles are slightly flared so thick socks and boots can fit comfortably. They also have buttons so you can do a tighter fit. It is comfortably high waisted and makes movement smooth/easy. I have a curvy figure and the fit is very flattering. No crotch seam. Cons: there are questionable too many seams, which squeeze on you when squatting or bending the knee, but the pants may be flexible because of the seams. It is not a stretchy material so your size is very important. It hugs your waist, so it is not easy to put the pants on as a curvy person. Once it's on, it feels like a second skin though. It does run small. I was hoping a large would let me wear a base layer, but it just barely fits. With the amount of seams, a base layer will probably protect your skin from seams digging in. Will update once I take it out for a few weeks.
