1st PFD. The Fisherman has more adjustment straps to get a snug fit and the is more comfortable than the other comparable PFDs I tried on. The rigidity of the 2 front zippered pockets is also a plus, IMO, over the other comparable PFDs because they act as trays to set gear on when making fishing setup adjustemnts. However, some of the other comparable PFDs seem to have more gear storage options/pockets than the Fisherman but comfort and adjustment was more important to me than gear storage volume. Plus, more gear in and on the PDF equals more weight which may not be a good thing in an emergency situation whilst on a lake or river.

[ After looking into multiple other brands as well as the super popular NRS Chinook, I came across their brand new Raku model. It ’s thin backed instead of the traditional high pillow back cushion that may interfere with the very high back seats on some kayaks such as the Hobie Pro Angler series. Overall the quality is superb, fit is great, and the added pockets make keeping my phone, keys, and wallet secure while I ’ m on the water. NRS makes a quality product and one you can count on with your life in this case. The difference in the sizing is purely based on the length of the straps. I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. The 6 straps allow proper fit no matter where the space is needed. Another plus to the Outfitter Universal is it's easy to get the paddler some ventilation on hot days. [ Bought 2 of these for my 2 y/o and 5 y/o and it fits great on both kids. Took it out to the lake and both the kids flipped the inflatable raft and took a dip in the lake. Worked just as expected and kept the kids floating upright until we could get them back high n dry in the boat. They 're not too bulky either which is a plus but saftey wise give it a A+.

When she fell off the kayak out in the middle of the lake, the handle built into the back made it easy to get her back on the deck.
