I lost my pair of Alenuihaha Maui Jim's and these are the sunglasses I got to replace them. I 'm not saying these are nicer than Maui Jim sunglasses but I like how these fit my face a little better and do n't hit my the top of my ears. They are a little lighter, which gives them a cheaper feal, but they are$ 60 sunglasses, not$ 260 like the Maui Jim's. [ I bought these for backcountry snowboarding primarily for the peripheral guards on longer brighter hikes and have yet to test them for that use case. However I did get a chance to test them for some summer riding in OR and they were quite comfy and stable going down the mountain. They definitely are a bit quirky in appearance but I got a lot of compliments/inquiries about them.
