I fish the Mosquito Lagoon religiously! Lately, the water has been super murky from high winds. That leaves you with three options. Luck, bait that leaves a sent trail, or loud baits. I do n't like to smell like bait, or clean it out of my boat and even though I 'm Irish, my luck is n't that great! This thing will catch some fish! The vibration is intense. I could see the flash through the brown murk and it's durable! O caught at least 10 fish before I had to replace the plastic. I put a gulp shrimp on the spinner and the action got even better. Redfish, trout, snook and even tarpon were hammering this thing. When I got home, I threw one in my pond and caught several bass on it too. It's the best$ 3 I 've ever spent on a lure.

These are primarily intended as a chatterbait/bladed jig trailer. They are SUPPOSED to have subtle action that works well with a bladed jig: they have the right shape to create a baitfish profile and the tail jerks back and forth in sync with the jig vibrations. Some of the other reviewers might not have understood that. These may not work very well as a jerkbait or swimbait on the end of a jighead( not saying they wo n't-- they just might for you). The main competitor is the Yamamoto Zako- a bait that just kills bass on the bladed jig, but the RaZor ShadZ have the advantage of awesome durability. Z man's elaztec plastic is super durable but can not be stored directly adjacent to other plastics including other lures or certain plastic tackle boxes. It will definitely cause melting. Consider Z man soft plastics for what they are: durable, cost- effective, reliable bass killers; you have to accept they have to be put back in their own bag or separately in a Plano box.

In June, I used the chartreuse and silver Catch 2000 on the flats in Apalachee Bay south of St. Marks, FL. The water was tea- colored but clear, and there was a lot of lose floating grass in the water. After the fifth or sixth cast, something hit the lure so hard that it about yanked my shoulders out of their sockets. A second later, my line snapped and the beast( probably a cobia) and my Mirrolure was gone.

This is a great artificial. Cast it out, real it back in fairly fast and feel the strikes. I 've caught Red's, Snook, Lady Fish( I know but they 're fun to catch), and Mackerel( Spanish and King). A couple of years ago I switched over to Berkley Nanofil braid from regular monofilament. I love braid because it has no memory and I have never had a birds nest of tangled spinning line since I switched to Nanofil. However since braid is super slippery it is pretty difficult to tie a piece of monofilament to braid for a leader. I use a Palomar knot to attach the swivel to the braided line and I attach a piece of 10# to 15# mono, about 3' long, on to the other end of the swivel with an improved clinch knot.
