Both on extra cold nights when I need 5° more insulation as well as camping on 80F+ nights when I want some coverage but my main 0° bag is far too warm to tolerate. Y'all know how you need at least one leg under the covers no matter how hot it is? This is perfect for that. I ca n't speak to the recovery aspects of the ceramic coating as my pre- release liner was simply for durability testing.

The sleeves are a bit long but they do have velcro to adjust and tighten them around the wrist. It's roomy but great for layering, though I think if he were ever to pull out the inner layer of the thin down shell, the outer jacket would be huge on him. The length is great for his longer torso, it covers his butt well. He had requested no hood and this one is detachable( not easy to find a decent ski jacket without a hood!) so another win!

It has a divider inside so you can fit six bottles/cans and slits on the top for the bottles to stick out, which is pretty cool. It even has a bottle opener attached to the side in a little pocket so you do n't have to go searching for one! Per chance you want to use it for something else you can take the divider out. The strap adjusts and is comfortable on your shoulder. This caddy is pretty awesome. I will get a lot of use out of it.
