I did spend on my normal Olympic bar but got this one to save money and get skull crushers in. First thing I did was a practice curl and noticed the noise. these are great for a good pool work out. they are a bit `` heavy ''( more floatation) but you can use slower movements or keep them more shallow for less of resistance, and move them faster or push them further under water( or do both actions at the same time) for more resistance. they seem to be holding up well so far but I have not had them for very long. hopefully they will continue to hold up in my 3 times a week hour long pool class at the gym.

Great bar. solid and does the job. Of note the product description has its weight as 60LBS but it actually weighs 50. It says 50 on the side of the packaging and I confirmed on a scale. Other than that great bar for deadlifts.

Easy curl barbell
I purchased the Body Solid OB47B Olympic Curl Bar a few weeks ago. I love it. It is well built and should meet anyone ’s expectations. When I received the bar, it was covered with exes grease for shipping. It came with a small toe tag note explaining the grease. I only wish the note was in a bigger size to draw quicker attention to it.

This is a very good curl bar, only problem I have is the bar seem to have or is trying to develop rust. I guess they didn ’ t keep it oiled, but other then that, this is a very good curl bar for the price. I would definitely order it again if I had to

I got this bar about a month ago. I started using it out of the box as soon as I got it. I had to clean the sleeves because they do n't spin as freely nor as quuietly as they should. I bought a 12mm Hex Wrench so I was ready to clean them. The bolts were tight, but not as tight as bolts I had on the Tricep Bar that I also have. The bolts were a little dirty. I had to brush off some grime from the threads. After greasing the contact points, the sleeves spun freely and quietly. The black finish looks good and it also protects the bar from rust.

I have been using this bar for 2 months. I use it for 150 to 175 lbs sets and the bar does not deflect at all. What I like best is that the handles are in perfect alignment. so, this gives me great balance to work both sides of my back. Great bar.

Pretty good construction- welds at bar/collar junction seem pretty well done. Hollow but side walls of bar pretty thick. Not sure about weight capacity, but seems like it would do fine with 200- 250 lbs. Definitely increases range of motion. Allows for about 3 '' in grip width variation, so you can emphasize outer lats or nearer to spine pretty effectively. Collar fits perfectly over olympic bar ends. I 've not tried the smaller collar over standard bars, but at least it's an option. Personally, I feel the price for this particular item was a bit high. From my research it was comparable to commercial bars of greater thickness and weight capacity. However, this was readily available and in stock from Dick's, so that became the selling point for me. I would recommend the bar to others, but I would suggest to see if it goes on sale or if a coupon becomes available before purchasing at full price.

I purchased the Bowflex SelectTech 2080 set this previous Thursday. I was originally looking for the fixed set of straight and curl bars, similar to the ones at the commercial gyms. 100% better than my cheap cap weights, you can grip it better with the bigger diameter bar, when you do military presses over head the weights do n't spin on the bar as my cap weight did, weights slides on and off the bar really good, and the bumper coating is really good.

It's a decent weight set. The problem I have is that when I called customer service to ask if the bar was one piece, I was told it was. I wanted the one bar strength in order to increase the weight. They were wrong. It is a 3 piece bar that is screwed together. It seems sturdy but I 'm not sure exactly how much weight the bar will hold now.
