A friend of mind brought this temp camping. There was 5 of us and we comfortably with cots, we ’ re able to stay dry, protected and had a great time during heavy rains over night. I was so impressed that I commented that I was going to go home and write this review. I will buy this same tent soon.

Great spacious tent, esp for tall folks like us. Tent stayed dry despite VERY dewy mornings and the afternoon rain soaked ground. Fairly easy set up. No complaints. Hope we can find the straight wall add on- it would be nice in case it ever did rain. Love the bag it came with so packing it up and storing it is easy as well.

We did a lot of research before purchasing the Core straight wall 10x14 tent. Our decision was based on the size, quality and height…and with it not considered an “ instant ” tent, we felt it was very simple to set up. It ’s very roomy!

Bought this tent a long time ago, about fourteen years. Has held up great for that time. Ten min. set up time with two people. Hooked this tent to the back of my truck that has a cap. Worked great as a second room. I use the truck as a bedroom. Sleeve zips off for a third door option if using the tent alone. The only problem was when it rained one time and a pool formed between the cap and the tent on the sleeve. If it was on the right car maybe this would n't happen. The other thing that should be done to make set up easier is to mark the center of each tent pole. This is to mark the apex of the tent to tie the roof ties to. You will see what I mean when you set up. Would I buy this tent again? Yes. And I have never put any kind of waterproofer or seam sealer on and never had a leak.

I used the tent for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great!! My wife even enjoyed camping and I was n't sure that was possible. I heard from reviews that people said that it was hard to set up, but me and my friend set it up for the first time in the dark and only took us 10 minutes, very simple. They even have a video that shows you how to set it up, I would advise watching it first if you are unsure. Others said that it wouldnt fit back in the bag that it comes with, but again, I had no problem with it at all. The only cons were the tent pegs that came with it. They had no point at the end and bent everytime you hammered them in. I went to REI and bought some titanium tent pegs and problem was solved. The only other con was that when using the zippers, they sometimes catch the overflap fabric. Not sure how to fix it yet, but not a big concern. The tent is big and very roomy. I 'm 6' 5 '' and could walk around the tent with no problem. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the fit was perfect. Great tent, cant wait to use it again!

Love the idea of attaching this tent to my SUV. My wife and I have spent many a nights stacking stuff form the back into the front seats to make room for us in the back. This tent arrived and we headed out to go camping, first stop Holter Lake Montana, fee for camping sights vehicles on pavement tents on grass, you can imagine that we could not drive stakes into the ground when half would have to go through pavement. Headed out of Holter to camp at the Bridge where the access road to Holter meets up with the river at wolf creek canyon. Pitched the tent, pole, stakes everything and lit the barbeque and settle down for the night. Then the wind came and tent blew away. Lesson learned point the vehicle into the wind if known or possible( keep in mind, Eastern Montana is some of the windiest area in the United States. Packed up and headed home in the middle of the night. Two days later headed out to Yogo Creek Montana, found a remote site and set up camp, some wind but it was steady and we pointed vehicle into the wind. Everything else went off without a hitch, beautiful clear creek, camp fire and tent did fine in the 10 to 12 mph wind gust. One small problem, the straps that attach to the tent and come over the top of the vehicle and attach under the hood. When the wind blows is raddles those straps and makes a noise like a semi using air brakes. I will be going to the dollar store and buying some cheap pool noodles, slicing them half way and attaching them over those straps to stop this in the future. Over all glad I bought the tent, roomy and pretty easy to set up and break down.

The Quest Overlook 6 person dome tent seems to work great for our family of 5! I would say 6 people in it would be cramped. Setup took about 10 minutes and was much easier with 2 people doing it. I love how the instructions are stitched into the carrying bag it comes in. Makes sure we will never lose it! I also really like that you can have the cover on or off the tent. Plenty of room for a few air mattresses inside. Overall my kids loved it! We are not much of a camping family but do enjoy putting up the tent in our yard and having an at home outdoorsy experience 🤣

Indymom46
Overall this is a really nice tent for the price. Everything is really well packed and instructions are attached to the carrying bag and really easy to follow. We did an outside practice run and it took about 15 minutes to unpack and set up and tear down the tent. We did not stake or attach the fly on this test. Also, unlike many tents, this is a tall tent, tall enough for a 6 foot man to stand upright at the tallest point. My favorite part is how easy it was to pack it back up into the carrying bag. It is roomy, not a tight duffel like many other tent bags. You could even store other accessories in the bag if needed. The basic tent without the fly would also be a great secondary tent to set up and use as a bug screen for meals during the peak buggy seasons.

The whole family is ready to go camping in this huge tent! Rated for six people, and you could definitely fit them all in( very spacious). Includes nice little gear pockets inside and also a gear/cargo loft which is convenient. I was even able to find a spot to hang a light inside. The base/floor is a thick tarp and will keep you very dry and is easy to wipe clean. I did a practice run setting it up inside before using it outside. It is possible for one person to set up but definitely easier and quicker with two people. Goes up in minutes with two people. It is very study, weather proof, and well made. The poles put a lot of tension on the fabric during set up, and it held up great- no rips like other cheaper tents I have used. Worth buying!

I bought it I think three summers ago. I only camp 8- 10 nights a year, so it's held up great. It's hard to find a tent that's completely open on top, save for the mesh screen. It's lovely to leave it open and look at the sky or observe the leaves/bugs during the day and hugely helpful for ventilation. It has pretty excellent bug protection and the color is just so dang pretty. If this one falls apart, I hope I can get the exact same one!

I bought this tent months to get ready for a camping trip. When the time finally came, rain was expected soon. Having never opened this bag prior, I found set- up very simple. The tent was up in a few minutes with the help of my wife. Taking the tent down was just as easy, tent was down and ready to go within 2- 4 minutes. Had the Storm Break 3 years so far, and maybe a couple/few dozen uses. At half the price of the similarly featured tents from the pro competition, it's an impressive tent IMO. It's a couple pounds heavier, but that has very little effect in my application( mostly motorcycle camping). I 've had zero problems with poles, zippers, stitching, fabric, or other parts/details. I 'm relatively careful and use common sense in setup and breakdown of the tent. I use a decent ground cloth to protect the floor and avoid exposure to sharp sticks and rock etc. Also avoid over tensioning the loops and holding points when staking and setting up guylines. I 'm careful with zippers and do n't force them or zip/unzip carelessly or super fast. In my limited experience, the zippers have been excellent. The vestibule flap zippers can be a bit fussy, and I simply use a finger to `` lead '' the zipper- pull path; this prevents the overlap fabric from getting caught in the pull. I 've used it in light rain and moderately windy conditions, but not in extreme weather. It has performed and held up just fine. Having read some of the negative reviews, I do n't understand how poles can just `` break '' or bend into some strange wavy deformed condition that some have claimed- that's odd IMO, and makes me wonder if those individuals are n't revealing the entire story/truth or maybe were careless? Setup is quick and pretty simple, and is doable in the dark if you 're familiar with the process and the tent. I really like the overall design and features: roomy, vestibules, inside mesh pockets in all 4 corners, interior hanger loops, the fly- great tent in my experience!

I 've used this tent for backcountry camping, hunting, using it as my tent while working wildfire in Alberta. I 've had my dog in it with my( 110lbs). and spent probably 50 nights in it since i bought it a couple of years ago. [ Was looking for a car camping tent, larger and more comfortable than the backpacking tent I 've had for ages. The DogHouse would sleep 2 very comfortably, you could sleep 4 if you do n't mind being a sardine. Steep sided walls gives the tent a very spacious feel. I could erect and take down the tent solo, but did struggle a bit the first time I pitched the tent to insert the tent pole into the final grommet. Also took me a while to figure out how to get the horizontal top pole out of the snap when breaking the tent down. Overall, the tent erected pretty quickly and easily in subsequent uses after the fabric stretched out a bit. Good ventilation, beefy stakes, seems to be a strong, stable tent, certainly fine for summer camping, probably 3 season. Worst conditions I 've been in are moderate wind and rain overnight, and the tent shed water no problem. I 'm assuming the fabric has a DWR coating, and it's unclear how long the waterproofing would last. I did not buy the ridiculously expensive footprint, just used a tarp close to the correct size and that worked fine. Tent material did catch in the zipper when zipping open or close the door. I wonder if anyone has solved this though.

[ I bought this tent to compliment my Copper Spur 2P tent for backpacking; needed something with a slightly larger footprint when camping with my partner instead of just my pup. Impressed with the quality, space, and design of this tent( expected as much from MSR). The rain fly is a bit wonky when needing to unzip from inside the tent; it slants down to the corner making it tough to open. I get the design intent, but it's not as user friendly as any other tent I 've owned. Keeps the rain out, which is the most important aspect. Like every tent out there, I would n't want to stuff 3 normal sized humans in it. It's great for 2 adults and my 75lb dog. There's room for some gear inside the tent, the vestibules from the fly provide enough space for full size packs under them. The pockets sewn inside the tent are great for stashing stuff sacks and small things, and I like the loops at the top for hanging a small lantern. It's on the pricey side for a 3p tent, but you get what you pay for. Good quality materials, a pack weight that's only slightly more than my BA 2p tent, and very easy to setup. I 've been backpacking with it several times already and it's a great piece of camp gear.

[ This tent is a little bigger than what we needed as a family( 3people+ 1dog) for weekend camping trips, but that's what we wanted. This is not a cabin tent so I do n't need to worry about high winds causing too much stress on the frame and tent seams. I love that I do n't have to stoop whenever I 'm inside the main part of the tent. The two vestibules created when the rain fly is on the tent are great for leaving muddy shoes outside but still under cover. There were plenty of pockets on the inside of the tent for our stuff and one great thing about them was that the pockets kept your stuff away from the walls... no morning dew on your stuff!!! Setup was simple; follow the directions on the tag of the tent bag. I tried to just logic my way through it the first time and one of my poles got a little bent... not bad, but I felt like an idiot. Followed the directions the text time and it went up easy. Also, 1 person can set this tent up, 2 people is better. 1 person can take this tent down without any difficulty. The rain fly has so many Velcro straps on the underside to wrap around the poles to help keep it in place. I used maybe 2 at each vestibule end and staked out the vestibules. The rest of the fly I left in place using only the clips to the main tent. We were n't expecting much wind so I did n't bother with the rest or the guy lines and the tent did just fine. Also, the seams are taped inside using some kind of flexible water repellant tape/adhesive... awesome!!! I ca n't say how many times I 've camped in the past and the seams are the first place where condensation forms and starts dripping... that's annoying. Taped seams should solve, or at the very least help with that problem. I would definitely recommend this tent.

[ Just what I was looking for. First two times it was used got decent rain and it stayed perfectly dry. Had very strong winds that collapsed one side( while nobody was in it and I don ’ t have it tied down, just staked) and it popped right back up when the wind stopped. No damage. The “ wings ” make it a little more difficult to set up with a good tight stretch on all sides, but I do love that extra space inside.

[ This is just a preliminary review, since I have yet to have the opportunity to use it yet. However, it set it up in my home. So far, it ’s pretty impressive, especially for value. Set up was easy, although a small hiccup with the fly. I was centering the vestibule zipper and things weren ’ t wuite lining up. I went back to the photo of the tent and once I realized that the zipper aligns with the wing, it was easy peasy. The tent is plenty roomy, and just love the wings. Whichever Marmot engineer thought of that is a genius!!! I thought it might just be a gimmick, but it ’s utilitarian and thoughtful. I also love the extra large doors which make getting your gear in a breeze. All the stitching looked great. Time will tell once I get this tent out in the outdoors, but so far, Im delighted with my Limelight 3P

I see alot of bad reviews for this tent, but I 've honestly never had any problems with it. First issue I hear alot about is that it leaks. I 've never had any leaks with this tent. I remember I ended sleeping in probably an inch of water one night, and not a single drop made it into the tent! Another issue that I heard of was that the poles were attached together. I can see why someone would find it annoying l, but I like it like that. I like the way they 're attached because I find it easier to set it up by myself. Overall, a pretty solid Tent that I would recommend!

My wife and I have owned this tent for six years now and are completely satisfied! 2 summers ago we had 3 days of heavy constant rain while on a camping trip and did not get wet at all! My family and i are all avid canoe trippers and for the past 6 years this tent has not let me down!

[ We got this to get back into backpacking with a 6 and 2 yr old and it fit all of us perfectly with a nice packed size and weight to split between mom and me. The unique pole setup does effectively make the tent feel roomier at the sides. Entry zipper has a sharp turn that feels like it will require repair down the road.

Easy to set up... very quick. Great for 2 grown men. Very large vestibules on each side are amazing. Great for car camping, rafting... other places you do n't have to carry far. Sturdy lookin design.

[ Very spacious and functional tent for 2 people. The wings are a great addition to store gear without taking sleeping space, and the rainfly performs very well in inclement weather. Small enough for a weekend overnight backpacking trip

[ I 've used this tent for many years of backpacking and car camping and it has held up great. The setup is easy and intuitive, probably one of the fastest tents to set up that I 've owned.

[ So I bought this tent for a trip into the Angeles mountains with friends and it was great!! It ’s the little things that matter with this tent. You have ample room with the vestibules areas and the poles are colored coded so it only took me 5 minutes to set up the actual tent. I got my socks wet during the trip and clothes hanger worked perfectly along with having more than enough room inside.

As I write, it is 2024. I have had the tent since 2016. I use it as a 1- person tent. I average about 45 days a year in this tent. It is not uncommon for me to pitch it, and leave it set- up, for 14 days at a time... this long UV- exposure use is hard on tents. I have had zero problems with the tent. Never got wet, never blown away, no repairs, zippers are still 100%. It is, of course, pretty darn snug if used by two people... but, that's the nature of 2- person backpacking tents, regardless of make/model.

When I ordered this tent I took a chance since I had never heard of this brand. I ’ m glad I did. It looks to be a high quality tent at about half the price of other brands. The seams are well sealed which is usually not the case. I set it up to seal them at it wasn ’ t necessary. I will probably be looking for this brand more often.

My 2p Marmot Tungsten has been very reliable. It kept me dry through a few very heavy downpours in the Midwest. With doors on both sides, access remains easy whether I am by myself or have a tent mate. Perfect for myself and my hiking gear. Rainfly can be used multiple ways for either privacy, easy access or wind- flow. For the price, it is durable and reliable.

This spring I took the greatest leap of adolescence and bought my first tent independent of my family. I knew I needed something that toed the fine line between durability and portability, as I would primarily be using it for river trips and backpacking. After an extensive and frankly obsessive research process, only the Tungsten 2p met my many demands. After some agonizing, I decided to take the leap, despite never owning a Marmot tent before. I am so glad I did! My first night in this tent, my dog and I stayed warm and dry despite the inch of snow that fell on top of us. This tent vents in a way that frankly I did n't know was possible and feels relatively spacious for being just a 2 person. I would say it can comfortably fit two average sized people and two medium sized packs. I have used it now for an entire spring and summer season in the peaks of the San Juans and various river canyons of the Southwest. Never once have I awoken to a drop of condensation nor had it rattle in obnoxious winds. Its quick and easy to set up solo and can pack down incredibly small. The wide open mesh top allows for spectacular star viewing and perhaps best if all, it's a spectacular color! I could n't recommend this tent enough if you need something light and durable or just want to make a wise investment in an introductory tent. 100/10

[ First: Th tent is n't nearly as dark- colored as the picture indicates- it's light grey and white. Very easy to set up and comfortable inside. Vestibule is roomy. The shorter pole segments make a big, positive difference when packing a bike! The bag is great if you want the Molle straps, otherwise I do n't see the advantage( and it does n't fit the best with my handlebar bag system.

[ Lightweight, sturdy, easy to put up…this is a great little one person tent. My only complaint is that Big Agnes should include the footprint because the test is quite delicate and requires one.

[ I bought this tent predominantly for backpacking or car camping. There is a chance I could bike pack, but that was not part of the decision to get this tent. I chose this slightly heavier tent over the regular backpacking tent because I wanted the decreased packed length. This allows me to put it in my backpack horizontally, and I keep the entire tent+ poles together. I chose a one person to keep the weight and volume down. I also appreciated having the loop straps on the top of the fly. During the BWCA trip last week, I frequently had wet socks, wet pant legs, and what other things to dry out. It was also windy during the trip. Once, I did put clothing in a pine tree. My friend later told me he picked up my stuff from the ground. After that, I always put my wet stuff under the loops on the tent. I love it! I had been concerned about the darker color of this tent compared to the backpacking tent. However, the color in the pictures is misleading. When I 'm inside the tent, I ca n't call it cheerful on the daytime but it's not dark and dreary. I do n't think it will soak up heat of the sun anymore than any other non- white tent will. I do like that it blends in better with the environment. I did purchase the footprint that also extends into the vestibule space. I 've previously had a tent with this feature and found it helpful. However, my friend has a BA tent with a traditional vestibule and he put a piece of plastic in front of his tent door. In the BWCA, the areas that we pitched our tents were often dirt. I found I had a lot of dirt on the footprint which kept me from sitting on it, etc. Meanwhile, my friend just simply lifted up his plastic and shook it out. We did get rain, so it's possible my gear under the vestibule stayed dryer. That being said, I do question if I 'm in this similar situation if I could just fold the vestibule back on itself and under the tent. And a grassy or less dusty situation, the footprint extending into the vestibule would be great. Otherwise, this review will likely apply to both the backpacking and bikepacking versions of this tent. My 8- year- old LLB 1- person tent I labeled my coffin tent. I do not feel the same way about this BA 1- person tent!!! This tent is a little wider, and I definitely have more headroom. It has a vent above which was a key deciding factor for my purchasing this tent. I hate tent condensation in the morning! I have a normal width sleeping pad And I can straddle it on hands and knees to adjust it and blow it up a little bit more. I can kneel in the tent and bend over in a squat to further make adjustments. I am 5 ft 7 in. ALL of the wonderful storage pockets kept so much off of the floor of the tent that it gave my body more space to move around. This is wonderful no matter what size version of this tent you get. I had a light jacket, a hat, and a shirt in the big pocket on the roof. The zippers on the tent open and close beautifully. Nothing got stuck. With the zipper on the fly I was a bit more careful, but all I did was extend a finger first in the direction I was traveling and that kept any material from getting caught. I am still figuring out all of the toggles, especially on the right side( facing tent) of the fly. It is very nice to open the doors wide, even if I do n't use the awning feature. THE VESTIBULE is Wonderful!! The vestibule in my old coffin tent would n't fit my backpack. With this BA 1- person tent, My 65- L ULA Catalyst backpack, a bait holder bag, shoes, my pfd, and a sm dry bag fit under the vestibule AND I still had room to enter and exit the tent. The vestibule rocks!!! The only thing that I do n't like about the vestibule is that there is n't a second smaller one. I do n't know if any 1- person tent has two vestibules. However, while this does allow one to set up the tent in smaller spaces, you are very restricted which way your vestibule faces. For ex, you may have to choose between setting up the tent so the foot faces into prevailing winds for safety... or setting up so you can open the vestibule doors and have a beautiful view of the mountains or a lake versus woods and weeds two to three feet from your vestibule if you set up for wind management. Setting up the tent was easy. The first two times I put the ends of the crossbars in the fly, it was effortful and I was concerned that I would do damage to the fly. Afterward, the material loosened up and it became easier. Clipping the fly to the footprint when I 'm also using the tent body is just a little awkward because cord material gets in the way of the clips. Guying out is much easier, quicker with the new adjustment pieces. There are two pieces of velcro to attach to the tent poles at the head of the tent. In the stake bag, there are multiple Velcro pieces and I 've not been able to find out what those are for. I bought two MSR groundhog stakes for two reasons: BA should have provided 1 more stake and I wanted two longer stakes to better anchor the tent in higher wind. During our BWCA trip, we did get a little rain but we got high winds during that time frame. Under these circumstances and with my roof vent open, I did n't get rain inside the tent. Also, with what both my friend and I felt were straight line winds, no rain got in the tent from under the tent fly. That being said, since the fly edges tend to sit up a bit higher from the ground to allow more ventilation, there was a lot of dirt and wood matter splash up against the wall of the tent. Luckily, the solid part obtained body goes high enough that nothing got inside. The inner tent remained dry. Packing down the tent and putting it and the poles in the available bags is okay. The bags are just wide enough if you pack things well. The stakes and their bag came packed inside with the tent and fly. I am a little concerned about the stakes being pushed in the bag with all of this other delicate material. My friend got upset with me because he felt I was taking too long to tear down the tent. I kept the fly on the tent body and attended to fold it all up together keeping the mesh on the inside, then stuff it in the bag. My friend felt I should just stuff each one in separately. I 'm not sure what's best, I just want to protect this more delicate material. That being said, my biggest concern for the material was when I was packing away the tent. Having the footprint down certainly protected the floor of my tent from any damage. Pros: mostly everything! Roof vent, large, practical vestibule, material loops on exterior fly, large tent body entryway, VG zippers, vestibule doors open wide, lots of interior pocket storage, a 1- person without being too confined, usually adjustable guylines, quick setup, appears to handle high wind well, why is not too dark, reflective elements on the tent keep one from tripping, fly zipper also zips from the top down, well- made. Cons: I guess the tent/tent pole bags could be lighter and the bags just the tiniest bit larger dia. The daisy chain loops are very small and not terribly practical. BA should include the missing stake. I would like for BA to also sell the bikepacking and backpacking poles separately. I could see someone wanting to own both depending on what situation they would be using the tent. I would also like BA to advertise that the traditional footprint and the extended footprint will fit both bikepacking and backpacking tents. Otherwise, the rest of my review will apply

When selecting a room tent, consider features such as size, ease of setup, and ventilation. Look for tents with multiple rooms or dividers for privacy, as well as those with good airflow to keep the interior comfortable. Additionally, check for weather resistance and durability to ensure the tent can withstand various outdoor conditions.
Room tents are typically made from durable materials such as polyester or nylon, which offer water resistance and UV protection. The tent poles are often constructed from lightweight aluminum or fiberglass for stability and ease of transport. It's important to choose materials that balance weight, durability, and weather resistance for your specific camping needs.
Room tents are ideal for family camping trips, group outings, or extended stays at a campsite. They provide ample space for sleeping and can accommodate additional gear or furniture. These tents are also great for festivals or events where you need a comfortable shelter for relaxation and socializing.
To enhance comfort in a room tent, consider factors such as insulation, ventilation, and sleeping arrangements. Choose a tent with good airflow to prevent condensation and maintain a pleasant temperature. Additionally, using quality sleeping pads or air mattresses can significantly improve your sleeping experience while camping.
Durability in a room tent is influenced by the quality of materials and construction. Look for tents with reinforced seams, sturdy zippers, and a strong frame to withstand wind and rain. Regular maintenance, such as checking for wear and tear and proper storage, can also extend the lifespan of your tent.
Yes, room tents come in various styles, including cabin tents, dome tents, and SUV tents, each offering unique benefits. Cabin tents typically provide more vertical space and room for standing, while dome tents are often more aerodynamic and easier to set up. SUV tents are designed to attach to vehicles, providing additional living space and convenience for road trips.
