I received this knife as part of promotional bonus for signing up to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation about one year ago. I love this little knife. I own my own Machine Shop, where I specialize in restoring old cars and trucks, and I use this knife constantly for opening boxes of parts and cutting heavy duty rubber hoses for heaters. I have yet to change blades. I have read some of these other reviews where the owners are complaining that their knives broke while they were skinning an elk, or something like that, but chances are they were abusing the knife. Any tool will fail if its abused. Use this knife as it was intended and it will last a long time. Thank you.

[ I got this as I was in need of a versatile folding knife and this is just it! From skinning to opening up way too many Amazon boxes, this thing cuts through anything with ease. I was worried about the durability of the blade considering it ’s super easy to change, but it ’s yet to break off or bend. The handle is super comfortable and as I mentioned earlier, the blade is super easy to change out and it actually does not require tools like says. If you ’ re needing a good folding knife with lots of versatility, look no further!

I bought one Gerber Strong Arm( FDE) and liked how useful it was that I bought another in Black. As a former Marine who is used to carrying a KaBar, the Strong Arm is more useful to me. I like the shorter blade, the grip, and the pommel. I sometimes like to Scout Carry a fixed blade and the Gerber Strong Arm is a great knife for that type of carry.

I have been looking at an electric knife sharpener for two years and Smith's Handheld Electric and Manual Knife Sharpener, was a pleasant surprise. It does a good job on mostly deer hunting knifes( from old carbon steel to new stainless steel). It was especially useful for sharpening some knifes that had been relegated to the tackle box etc. becuase they were too difficult to keep sharp. Would recomend for any hunter who wanted to speed up their knife sharpening chores!
