I have had this bag since 2017 and I beat the crap out of it and it has held up beyond my expectations.. The only thing I wish is that I could wash it better, because I am so hard on my stuff. I would put one more strip of padding on the bottom of the area for the laptop and two way zippers for the front little pocket, One other suggestion is for the side pockets where you can put your drinks it would be cool if one of those was a little longer, and you could zip it up.... This bag is very well made, nothing has come apart, nothing has had to be replaced and all the zippers are intact at almost 8 years since purchase with daily use!

I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I love how the laptop sleeve has a false bottom so when you place the laptop in the backpack it does n't accidentally knock the surface the backpack may be resting on. I use the sleeve next to the laptop sleeve for files, and it has enough space for everything I need without being too big or too small. Comfortable, no worries. This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible- even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on- slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go- to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

This pack surprised me on the upside. For my daily needs, I only need 16 liters, but I carry a 13 '' laptop and want good organization. This pack delivers. It's a very good design and great materials. Well thought out internal organization. My only gripe is the fabric used for the top quick access pocket feels like cheap sweatshirt material. It is exactly what I was looking for in an everyday pack that I can also use for day hikes. The pockets are great, the straps are all adjustable and there even a whistle on the chest strap. Lots of options for attachment of items such as poles on the exterior of the pack. I love the small fleece pocket at the top of the bag. The outer pocket is great for putting wet or smelly items in. The water bottle pockets can be a bit of squeeze if you have a full pack for a Nalgene but it still fits. There is also a hole for a hydration bladder to fit through. I was looking for a bag that had plenty of room in a main compartment, while also being able to hold a laptop and smaller items( pens, small tools, notepad). This bag fit the need great. [ I ’ ve had this new backpack for a little over a month now and I ’ m really enjoying it. From a work standpoint, there ’s a cushioned area for my laptop, iPad& other work files in the main pocket. In the secondary pocket that is sealed with Velcro, I carry all of my laptop cords and other miscellaneous supplies. I ’ m surprised how well the Velcro seals and nothing falls out. The side zipper allows me quick access to whatever I need. On top there is a small zipper pocket for my pens, pencils, and a calculator. There is also a water bottle holder on each side. But what I like most about this bag is the blaze orange interior, which helps me to see items that get buried in the bottom of the bag that would normally be difficult to see if it was lined in black. This is ingenious as I ’ ve never had a backpack with this coloration on the interior. I thought it would be annoying, but it is very helpful. I ’ m new to mystery ranch, but I am now hooked on their products! I have a new hunting backpack that I recently purchased, and it is outstanding! When fully packed with all my work stuff, it weighs approximately 12 pounds and with the adjustable shoulder& chest straps fits& carries well. I ’ m very satisfied with the purchase of his backpack and it is well- made, so I expect it to last me years.

Made extremely well. Loved the hard bottom of this considering I mostly fish kayak and canoe, keeps things dry. Looked forever for what this thing will hold with no info on storage capacity. Pulled the trigger and was pleased with what I could fit. Main compartment holds 3 3700 size boxes, you could add a 3700 thin as well but its pretty tight. The front pouch will hold a 3600 box without much room to spare, I loaded mine with a 3600 thin terminal box and a thin 3500 box. Pouches on the side of bag will hold the small Flambeau spinner bait box. I used top pouch for plastics, holds like ten bags or so comfortably. Great bag and comfortable to carry fully loaded
