... and let me tell you why. I 've been on the hunt for an affordable, lightweight, rollable and packable stadium seat/chair for canoe camping. You ca n't see it in their picture, but you can remove the padding and the metal bars( which are wrapped in padding and different fabrics) that are on the sides to help it keep its shape. It's almost like they knew folks might want to remove some pieces, so they made it so you can easily take them out and put them back in. I 'm returning to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in a couple weeks and I 'm sick of going and having nothing to lean on at camp, sometimes logs but it's still uncomfortable- my back just hurts every trip. I was able to remove the back and bottom cushions and the bottom bars. I found that to keep the chair usable I had to leave the back bars in. The construction seems pretty solid, and if something happened I think I could mend it easily with some fabric thread and a good needle. Very elated to stumble upon this option, as there seems to be very little out there for what I was looking for.

I purchased this seat in hopes that it would give me a little more support than the original seat in my kayak. I did n't even remove the old seat. I just inflated the lumbar back( fabulous) I must say and sat it in the kayak over the original seat. The new seat is a little higher on my back and the lumbar area gives me the support for a very comfortable ride. I have had back surgery in the low back area and when I would spend time on the water, I always had back pain. I tried flotation cushions to raise me up higher or behind me to give additional support. Now that I have this particular seat I no longer have to put any additional padding anywhere. I love that we can zip off the cover in case of spills or dirt. This is also the same weight of yoyr typical folding chair so not too heavy to take along with you.
