Definitely happy we picked this out. We wanted a cooler that did not look like I was dragging around scuba gear or dry bags. We just needed something simple that we could take around to sporting events or outdoor concerts and this executes that task brilliantly. We enjoy using this much more than our old cooler because we have two free hands now plus the old cooler's zippers would scratch our arms when reaching in to grab drinks out of it. 5/5 for a no fuss cooler. We are taking it to Hawaii on a family trip and using it as a carry- on for the plane ride.

I 've done both with it and it holds just the right amount of food and drinks for my and my family. This backpack is not like others in that it has a cooler in it. So not only was I able to bring my drinks and food with me; it was super cold too. The backpack is fully insulated and waterproof and holds up to twenty eight cans. I really like that the straps are padded as my back gets sore easy. It has a front pocket perfect for my keys and such. Outstanding! Purchased the ICF 18 a month ago and used for 8 days straight without any problem. We found our perfect temp was 34 degrees. This cooler was spot on with the temperature although the smaller compartment above the compressor was just a few degrees higher. We opted to use that area for soda cans and items that weren ’ t as sensitive to temperature. The main area kept things really cold. I used a refrigerator thermometer before our trip and felt the internal thermometer was spot on within a degree or two. For longer trips or families the 32( size wise might be better), but we are happy with our choice! The unit was powered with a portable power supply that kept our Igloo running all day while driving with power to spare! To be fair, the Igloo was in a climate controlled car nearly all the time. Hope this helps and we would highly recommend the Igloo ICF 18. It is also very quiet as someone else mentioned. The cooler( fully loaded) was also manageable for a couple of seniors to lift in and out of our car. Good job and Thank you Igloo!!!

If you love cold drinks driving to hot states in the summer or any time this is a great cooler that will do the job. This is highly recommended as opposed to thermoelectric coolers if you need to travel with medication that must be at a certain temperature. The only drawback is that all compressor coolers are heaver by design. The bail handle seems strong enough by design to handle to full weight of the cooler. Where the bail handle attaches to both sides of the cooler body, this is why I gave this cooler 4 stars. It seems to be loose fitting and flimsy at the ends. The handles will just fall down to the sides when let go. The cooling and holding temperature work as designed and the compressor will stay off for about an hour to cool again at the set temp.( 42' F). I recommend the cooler, wish the price was less, great overall satisfaction.
