[ If you enjoy fishing streams for bass, trout, or whatever, this should be your go- to. Don ’ t let anyone talk you into a medium, and make sure it ’s the Walleye series. My recent purchase replaces the exact same rod.

This rod is perfect for fishing in my kayak. The shorter butt helps with space with limited room. The quality of the rod is great as expected from St Croix. I love the feel of the rod when fighting a fish.

I bought this about 2- 3 weeks ago and it hasn ’ t dissapointed. The action in it is amazing, and I don ’ t have to just yank the pole to set the hook. Overall I think this is an amazing investment.

I finally had enough money to spend on a st croix rod. I 've always wanted one, but was hesitant. I bought the Mojo Yak rod and I 'm very pleased with it. I bought the medium action, but it definitely feels like a heavy action rod. Very good quality components.

I ’ m a St croix guy and this rod is TOUGH! The mojo series is light weight and durable. Very sensitive and comfortable to hold. The 7 ” medium is a great rod for plastics and wacky rigs. A great all purpose rod in my opinion. The split grip helps with casting while keeping it short and low profile for kayak guys.( I like it for the weight reduction). 10/10 rod. Will continue to add more mojo to my collection.

I purchased this rod with the main intention of bass fishing, but seems like it can be used for many species so far. I purchased a medium heavy and paired it with the Abu garcia Revo Ike I have no complaints so far. Would recommend this rod in a second.

Frequently Asked Questions For St Croix Walleye Rods

When selecting a walleye rod, consider factors such as length, power, and action. A longer rod can provide better casting distance, while the right power and action will help you detect bites and control your lure effectively. Additionally, look for features like sensitivity and durability to enhance your fishing experience.

Walleye rods are typically made from materials like graphite, fiberglass, or a composite of both. Graphite rods are known for their sensitivity and lightweight feel, while fiberglass rods offer more durability and flexibility. Understanding these materials can help you choose a rod that suits your fishing style and preferences.

The ideal rod length for walleye fishing usually ranges from 6 to 8 feet, depending on your fishing technique and environment. Shorter rods can provide better control for casting in tight spaces, while longer rods can help with distance casting and trolling. Consider your fishing conditions when selecting the appropriate length.

Rod action refers to how much of the rod bends when pressure is applied, and it can significantly impact your fishing success. Fast action rods bend mainly at the tip, providing quick sensitivity and responsiveness, while slow action rods bend throughout the length, offering more flexibility. Choosing the right action can enhance your ability to feel bites and set hooks effectively.

Different walleye fishing techniques can benefit from various rod styles. For instance, spinning rods are great for finesse techniques, while casting rods may be preferred for heavier lures and more powerful hook sets. Trolling rods are designed for long-line fishing, allowing for effective lure presentation at various depths.

Durability is crucial in walleye rods, especially if you fish in rugged conditions or target larger fish. Look for rods made from high-quality materials that can withstand wear and tear, as well as those with reinforced components. Additionally, consider the rod's warranty and reputation for longevity to ensure a worthwhile investment.
