I 've had next to no backslashes while casting 1/4 ounce lures in breezy conditions. Without tightening up the reel. Low profile reels sit well in the reel seat for palming them. I personally like the carbon fiber reel butt a lot, which is very nice looking and adds to the lightness of the rod. Nice lightweight rod especially paired up with my JDM Metanium.
