Have had the Stamina ATS 1405 Rower for a month now and have used it several times each week. It provides the workout I was looking for. The rower arrived in excellent shape, all parts were there, and it was easy to put together.

Bought the to complement my running and gym workouts. Was pleased that it was ready to use after E- Z assembly, tools were provided. Have used it daily for several weeks and it works well. The model with the multi function monitor allows for interval training. Only change made was to place the front supports on a 2 '' X 6 '' X 3' board to raise the position, which worked better for me. I rowed in college, the Stamina X Air brings back many great memories.

I ’ m very happy with it. It is very strudy and the seat is very comfortable. Usually most rowers skimp on the seats. Also the foot pedals are nice the straps keep them tight and the swivel movement keep your feet sturdy but comfortable. The machine is very smooth and quiet. purchased two months and just love the machine, good value for the money am 87 years old and use it every day.

I 've had this rowing machine for about three weeks now and put about 6000 reps on the machine without any hiccups or problems. First it took me about 30 minutes to put this together, which is longer than the manual said but I was able to do it by myself. Second, I have n't had any problems with the foot holds. I 'm 5'10 '' 180lbs with a size 11 mens shoe. Just secure the velcro tight across the middle of your shoe and go. Third, the machine seems to be sturdy and I hope it continues to hold up well. It's quiet and the seat slides smoothly without squeaking or making any noises. Lastly, the digital counter has worked just fine without any issues. I reset it after each use and it continues to track my total reps.

Once assembled works great! Ease to setup workout. Seat is a little hard and uncomfortable.

5 DonBC
As a shorter senior citizen, this model of rower is excellent. It was easy to assemble. The magnetic settings for tension are well gauged. I have had the rower for two weeks and use it daily in my workout routine. the slider seat and flywheel are quiet compared to air rowers. The seat is comfortable. The handle bar is soft and comfortable. The fitness meter is excellent providing lots of normally requested data on your workout. Weighing just 45 pounds, and having two wheel, you can easily store the system vertically. Would I recommend this model? Absolutely. The price is also reflected in the value of the rower- reasonable and excellent.

This rowing machine is wonderful! I did not want to give a full star down- rating for only a minor issue, so will leave my rating at 5 stars. The only issue had to do w/the LCD display attachment. There was a one of 4 screws that did not fit properly in the mounting hardware and my display ended up in a crooked position. However, like I said it's only a minor thing and does not at all impact the functionality of the machine. I 'm so glad that I purchased this rower!!!

Wonderful machine. I was able to put it together by myself in about 30 minutes. I am new to rowing machines, but I really enjoy the workout. I have found some beginner videos on Youtube. This is a fantastic rower. I was a little concerned it would be of poor quality due to the price compared to the others, but if you aren ’ t a peloton groupie and don ’ t need false encouragement tossed at you every five seconds, save some money and get this one. The water resistance is perfect, and once I get stronger the magnetic resistance is going to build on that.( If you do need some false encouragement, there ’s always Apple fitness+) It hooked seamlessly to my phone and the app works perfectly. I also enjoy the beginner classes where they don ’ t try to kill you in a 10 minute Beginner workout.

I love this rowing machine. I lost 10 pounds by using my Sunny treadmill and the six week kettlebell plan. I use this rower one day, then the next day I use the treadmill. So it's over other day with the two machines. I feel so much better and slimmer.

5 Andrew J.
The rower is easy to put together, good quality, and fun to use. It turns exercising into a game, instead of work.

5 Neko
We purchased this after doing a fair amount of research on rowing machines and we are glad we did. We get a good aerobic workout along with a balanced upper and lower toning. As Seniors we started slowly and gradually increased the intensity and length of time on the machine. This rower is well made, compact, and fun to use. No regrets here!

5 Mom from Westchester
We assembled it quickly and easily( we are NOT handy people) and it works very well. I 'm a beginner so I ca n't comment on the display- I 'm just trying to burn calories, not race. I like the fact that it's higher than other water rowers because I have lower back issues, so the fact that it's a bit higher, and also that the back/seat is higher than the feet seems to alleviate stress on my lower back. The only `` surprise '' was that it is a bit noisier than other water rowers BUT I think that's because of the tilt of the tank. That said, I think the tilt makes for a better workout because it seems like you 're pulling the propellers through more water( pooled at the bottom of the tank) than you would be with the same amount of water in a flat tank. Frankly, when I tested the flat/level tank it felt `` too easy '' for me. Yes, I know it's about how fast I pull, but I like the additional resistance. It's not so much that it's noisy as that I ca n't watch/listen to anything unless I make it loud. My husband said you barely hear it in the rest of the house. I just wear earbuds so I can listen. One other thing to note: even though you can put an iPad on the lip of the display, you have to be sure to tilt it backwards a bit so the display does n't flop forward from the weight. Last, but not least, you ca n't beat the price( and nominal delivery charge) and availability. It arrived within a few days of ordering it. Great purchase!

After being in the market for a rower for 6 months and being torn between getting the After 6 months of being the market in the market for a rower and being torn between the Concept 2 model D or Lifecore's R100 rower, I decided to take a chance on the Stamina DT Pro. My hope was that this product could offer the R100's cutting edge air/magnetic row resistance technology but at the lower cost of the the Concept 2( C2). Additionally, I liked that Stamina was also throwing in the chest strap heart rate monitor with this package at no added cost. This rower took a little over an hour for me to put together. I did it by myself but knowing what I do now, I would definitely recommend you have a second person on hand to help assemble this. Doing it solo, at one point I had no choice but to stand the rower somewhat on it's head( the plastic fan casing). The case now shows stress mark from this, but does n't effect it's performance. First off, I will tell you there are 12 programs you can use, NOT 12 resistance levels as I had originally thought. There are 8 resistance levels. I am happy with these levels though. L1 is comparable to L1 on the Concept 2, but at L8 the resistance is much higher than L10 of the C2. Level 3 or 4 seems comparable to L5 on the C2. Just as with the R100, with the DT Pro, your times will be slower than what you recorded on the C2( unless of course you 're on something you were n't before). The reason for this I believe as that the C2 gives credit for `` coast ''. With the Air/magnetic types it's as if your paddling into a current, so basically if your oars are n't doing work in the water you are n't making forward progress. It saddened me at first a little that I most likely wo n't be smashing any of my PR's set with the C2, but I 'm already over it. This is more honest work. Distances are measured with the DT Pro in miles. I 'm used to meters, but after 3 workouts I 've made the mental transition.* note; I can see in the display screen that there is a `` Km '' above the `` miles '' but there is no way I can find to switch it to Km's. Does Stamina sell the Km version to those outside the U. S.? The stroke of the DT Pro is wicked smooth. This was what I signed up for! It is also much quieter than the the C2. The saddle slide is also very smooth. However, the edges of the seat are highly contoured. I am 6' 0 200 lbs and my fanny fits within the contoured sides just fine. I could see fitting in this seat being a problem though, particularly if your pushing the 300 lb weight capacity of this rower. The other important thing I noticed about the seat/slide is that while, yes, it is smooth, if your weight is properly distributed over the beam, if you lean your weight out to the left or right, however, there is very noticeable `` sway '' of the seat that could throw you off balance. I do n't know if this was intentional in the design to make it a more realistic rowing experience. I 'm also not sure how much stress from the sway the seat can take before it will breaks. The foot- straps are my biggest hang up with the DT Pro. They are 2 Velcro strips that do n't appear to be reinforced in any way. With the amount of force my feet snap back into these straps especially when doing short/vigorous sprints, I honestly ca n't see these things being long for this world. This rower is easy enough to move around on it rollers. Storing it away in it's upright position is slightly awkward though. This is because there is a knob that needs to be fully unscrewed an removed to allow the beam to pivot into vertical position and then screwed back in get in the horizontal/ready for use position. Not sure why they could n't have used some kind of quick release pin. Ohhh, one other really important note: Do n't forget to unplug from the power source before moving the rower. I 've already make this mistake twice. Luckily I did n't damage anything. Yes, you have to plug the rower in to use the monitor and activate the resistance settings. Overall, I would say I got what I wanted and for a good price. Time will tell though. I plan to be pretty rough on this rower. I will update this review in few months to note how its holding up.

5 Ama898
Obsessed with this rower! I 've been looking for a rower for a while now and decided on this one. I 'm so happy I did! I was needing something to replace running as a good cardio workout, but something that is easier on my joints. This rower is perfect for just that. It challenges my endurance as well as my strength with several different programs to choose from. I keep it in my bedroom for early morning rows while my daughter is still asleep and not only is it quiet enough to not disturb her, but it also conveniently folds up to save space when it's not in use. I would highly recommend this specific rower for anyone in the market for one!!

5 SomeGuyWhoLifts
This is the absolute best rower I have ever used. The quality of the build is shown through its smooth operation and quiet nature. Both my wife and I have been using it at night after our daughter goes to bed, while during the day I have used it as a HIIT trainer — and it serves both functions extremely well. I can not express recommend this product enough. Minor issues I had with it in the beginning( i. e. counting in miles instead of kilometers) have fallen by the wayside.

5 REDD
I purchased this rower to add to my home cardio equipment. I was well pleased with the ease of assembly. It operates quietly and offers a number of programs and tensions to work with. A good product in my opinion!

5 BIGB
The Stamina DT Pro Rower is well made and a great value for this type of fully programmable performance. The dual magnetic and air resistance is a real plus, making the rowing action smooth and steady. My son is using it for strengthening and I 'm using it for strength and cardio.

I love this rower. The seat is comfortable and the resistance is great. The full arm rotation feels great and I love using the videos with it. The HR Monitor does not come with it and is separate, but I use my watch and it ’s fine. Assembly was tricky and required two people, but quick. The operation is very quiet, except the pedals click clack. The device looks sleek and I have plenty of room to slide all the way back. My husband is 6 ’ 1 and had no issues. I have a tough time keeping my feet in the pedals if my shoes are too wide or sole too thick. It ’s tricky starting the session and holding the rowers with the phone in the clamp. The water bottle holder is large. The metric display is small and can be difficult to read the legend, but once you get used to it, it ’s fine. The actual numbers are displayed in much bigger format. Overall I really love it and am glad I bought it.

5 Tammie M.
Easy assembly. I wish the foot pads were easier to adjust for smaller feet and not just moving the velcro. Was also expecting a bit more resistance as you increased it. I 've worked out with it twice now and do like it.

5 Donna B.
I love that you do not lean down to row- this is great for your back and opening up your lower back as your posture is in line. Smooth operation, easy to follow set up instructions.

I 've had my rower now for several months and initially had issues with the meter not connecting to the app. I had replaced another rowing machine in favor of this one to specifically connect to the app. Sunny Fitness sent a replacement meter and everything has been working great ever since. The machine is small enough to fit in our small area home gym and is easy to put up out of the way and take back down and move to where I need to for use. It's a basic rower for those wanting to introduce rowing in their fitness plan. I enjoy having rowing as an option in my weekly fitness rotation.

5 Jozeph H.
So far so good with this rower. Pretty easy setup, basic tools can speed it up quite a bit, but the tools that are provided works fine as well.. Use on the highest setting and it's a great work out, in the future I may find that I could use more resistance. Dual rails feel very stable. Retractor seems to take a few pulls to adjust to the level you are on, but once you get going it works great. Nice quiet operation, can hear tv/ speakers while using no problem. Body is not overly heavy, comes with pads/ feet to store upright to save space when not in use. Improvements I suggest are that you are practically sitting on the floor. Even elevating the height a slight amount would give this a more premium feel. Granted maybe this is normal, it's my first row machine I 've owned. My feet are fairly large( 13's) and I have found that they come out of the pedals pretty easily. Adjusting the strap placement has helped quite a bit, but I still find myself tightening/ fixing straps during the workout.- most likely a user error. Have n't tried a class with it yet, but ca n't wait. Overall happy with the purchase

4 ARCADIO J.
The machine performs as expected and is smooth and quiet. The large number of resistance levels is much appreciated. As a matter of strictly personal preference, I would have loved a slightly larger screen but can live with this one. My# 1 suggestion is to have the instruction manual edited by somebody who has majored in English.

Recently purchased through Amazon and it works great! Great price and better quality than I thought it would be for the price. Quite happy with it. Not as comfortable as sitting on the couch, but I guess that's not the point...

5 Daniel form Canada
I just assembled the rower 2 days ago. Assembling instructions very clear and straightforward, it took me about 45 minutes to complete the assembly. Since then I used it twice and am happy with the results. I used to workout with a rowing machine at the gym, and like this one better, as you can use your arms in a wide opening, as opposed to the ones in the gym that you only bring your arms back and forth. Up to now I am very happy with the workout and best thing is I do n't have to leave the house to do it. The only complaint I have is that it does n't have a heart monitor, which is a very handy feature. I know that including it would raise the price, because of the need to install sensors and another function in the display, but I would be prepared to pay the difference, if it was a reasonable one. I am used to the HR monitor as I also have a static bike at home, and this one ahs the HR monitor and it is very handy. I will post a new development comment in a couple of weeks, after using it more times.

We bought this to start rowing( instead of cycling), so although we 're `` beginners '', we come from a lifetime of exercise. It's an excellent rower that's a direct comparable to the Concept2( think clone). The rower itself is perfect. The only element that could be improved is the computer/display. The data a rower wants altogether during a workout is spread across two screen modes, but it's not a large issue since one display mode shows the most used basic data. The Concept2 computer/display is far more evolved/refined, but the Ethos display lacks nothing important( although I will never know why folks want to see calories since that metric can not be accurate unless it takes into account body factors outside the computer's data).( In all fairness to the reader here, I 'm not convinced the power/watts metric is fully accurate but hopefully I 'm just wrong on this.) I hope Dick's guides improvements in the computer/display going forward. I 'd even be willing to upgrade the computer someday if new versions are released with more refined sophistication- the machine is really worthy of further improvement work.

Frequently Asked Questions For Strokes per Minute Rowing Machine

Strokes per minute (SPM) refers to the number of complete rowing strokes taken in one minute while using a rowing machine. This metric helps users gauge their workout intensity and efficiency. A higher SPM typically indicates a more vigorous workout, while a lower SPM may suggest a focus on strength or endurance.

Improving your strokes per minute involves focusing on your technique, maintaining a consistent rhythm, and gradually increasing your speed. Incorporating interval training can also help, as alternating between high-intensity bursts and recovery periods can enhance your overall performance. Additionally, ensuring proper form will allow you to row more efficiently and effectively.

For beginners, a strokes per minute range of 20 to 24 is often recommended to build endurance and develop proper technique. As you become more comfortable and experienced, you can gradually increase your SPM to challenge yourself further. It's important to listen to your body and adjust your pace according to your fitness level.

Strokes per minute can significantly impact the effectiveness of your workout. A higher SPM generally leads to a more intense cardiovascular workout, while a lower SPM can focus on building strength and endurance. By adjusting your SPM, you can tailor your rowing sessions to meet specific fitness goals, whether it's improving speed, power, or stamina.

Yes, different rowing workouts may have varying strokes per minute targets depending on the goals of the session. For instance, endurance workouts may focus on a lower SPM to promote longer, sustained efforts, while high-intensity interval training might aim for a higher SPM to maximize calorie burn and cardiovascular benefits. Setting specific targets can help you achieve your desired fitness outcomes.
