I will jig( sharp- n- short twitch- like hook sets repeated on a fairly loose drag setting on my reel- to prevent snags) this minnow with a tiny 1/32oz jighead on the 2 ” model- so it fall through the water slowly. When I do this, the lure is worth every penny. I bought this product over six months ago and I am only on my second minnow! This lure and technique is incredibly effective! Get it and start twitching it off the bottom of you body of water. It ALSO works in muddy water. Which blew my mind. I am so happy with this lure! I do think the stock jighead is too heavy, so just swap it for 1/32 or 1/24. Only go 1/16 for letting the current drift the lure.

I bought 2 of these reels for my wife and me. Being disable, we need easy smooth reels- these are so smooth. We tried them yesterday trolling for trout in a deep lake with great success. I have many Okuma Cold Water reels and all work generally well( the reason that I will continue to purchase). The line counter is the least reliable aspect but all of the reels continue to work after years of service. Dick's was the best place to purchase while they were on sale. She had been using a 9' 6 '' big box store, generic kayak and enjoyed it. She took her maiden voyage on her Loon 120 and absolutely loved it! Initially was going to get her the Loon 106, but fortunately when I called I spoke to a staff member who explained the the 120 is better suited for a smaller stature person such as my wife. Tracks like a dream and does not require constant correction! If you are considering the 120, go for it, you will not be disappointed!

I have a cockpit kayak and do n't like the enclosed feeling. Tis is a great kayak. I much prefer the sit- on- top design. The seats offer very comfortable back support. The ability to paddle solo is a great feature.

It took a few weeks before I could take this beauty out on its maiden voyage, but once I did it did not disappoint. I launched it from a local dock on a nearby lake and took my two kids out on what was a choppy windy day on the lake. The stability and handling of the kayak was superb considering I had my two most precious cargo on the deck of the kayak. The lake was extraordinarily choppy with 3' waves, but the kayak was stable and I was able to navigate using some previous skill. It remained a safe and fun voyage although short lived due to the roughness of the lake. The kayak did not disappoint and was beautiful to en- devour. Make sure you know where you plan to store it and how to maneuver it to where you want to store it. At just over 12' long, it is sizable.

Have used the canoe(s) to fish the upper- James for many years. Wanted something I could throw onto my shoulders to carry, or load onto my SUV individually( when my youngest was 6). We eventually were caught in a hydraulic and the canoe was destroyed, but I bought a replacement a week later. Have done solo river camping trips, but I use a 16 footer with a 2nd person. The seat- backs are a must since I am 6' 5 '', and now my oldest is 275 so the canoe can handle 500+ lbs. Yes the bottom is flat, but we run class 2's, plus drag it over many rocks in the riffles.

I purchased an Old Town Saranac 146 for lake fishing with my daughter. It was a perfect canoe for the two of us, with plenty of room for gear and refreshments. I added a small removable outrigger where I mounted a small electric trolling motor to help hold our position in the lake on windy days. When I fish alone, I use the third seat as my station to keep the canoe flat. I added a comfortable removable swivel seat at that center station for those days when I fish alone. The canoe is light enough for me to single handedly lift up on my SUV roof rack for trips away from home. All in all, this is an excellent vessel, good quality and well made to which I look forward to many years of use.

The saranac 146 is a nice size boat for 2 people and hunting gear. After getting home with it, I found the front cap to be loose from several rivets that had failed. I fixed it by installing bolts and nuts... just wanted it to be acknowledged. The adjustable back rest are really great and useful and the seats are comfortable. The 146 is light enough to be handled with ease by one person.

The Perception Rambler has a bit of weight to it but between the two of us we can easily carry it to the water.
