I threw out my line with a Lindy hellgramite watsit jig, tap the line to make the bobber wobble and bam! The shellcracker went crazy. I caught shellcracker that you could barely get your hand around.

Great slip floats, I just wish there was a chart or something to show how much weight they will float. I got the 1/2 pencil floats they just barely stay above the water with 1/16 jig alone. So I 'd say the 1/2 pencil would be perfect with 1/24 or lighter

I 've fished three sizes of this float in upstate NY with a lot of success. I 've got a few stick floats for the purpose and they work fine, but these little orange floats are a bit easier to move up and down the line and shotting them down seems to be less fussy.

These bobber stops work very well-- especially for rods with small diameter guiides that other bobber stops get stuck on. I find it's not even necessary to trim the string, which is recommended but hard to do. Just tie one on and leave the excess string on-- it saves work and does n't interfere with the functioning of the bobber stop. It also makes the bobber stop easier to see.

It allows you to see the light clearly and you can see it underwater as well as it's going down. I use the 5 '' and Walleyes between 16 '' and 30 '' never seem to feel it go down.
