5 Grimme
Resembles a Smithwick Devil horse that can also be used to walk the dog type of retrieve. Seems to attract Small mouth bass more so than large mouth bass.

5 Badass Bass Fisherman
Used to use Tiny/Baby Torpedos and thought I had the killer lures for bass on my favorite water. Have n't had the success I wanted lately as the propellers did n't always spin. Last summer I watched a video on Youtube of a guy killing smallies with a `` Whopper Plopper '' so I decided to give one a try. I bought the 90 perch and 90 pac- man. First afternoon out with these lures I caught 10 bass. That was my best day ever on this water. Two were 3 lbs plus; all were respectable sizes.( See picture) Just purchased three more: Bluegill, Frog, and 28 Bluegill. Gon na buy the T1000 and Chub( Yoda) next. May go up a size to see if they produce even bigger fish. Ca n't wait till the spawn to kill 'em again!!!!

The Whopper Plopper in my opinion revolutionized top water fishing. Caught a 4and1/2 pound largemouth on a sunny day in mid afternoon, after trying swim baits, jig, and other top water lures. Tied on a Whopper Plopper and the second cast had the expolsion on the lure.

5 Hookset
I 've owned many of the 75- 110's, and the ones I do n't lose to toothy critters stack smallmouth like cordwood! Tie one on and REMEMBER.... you ca n't fish this too slow! Just get that tail churning and wait for it to call in the hogs. Tight lines!

5 yungterp
big plops, big bass, even more fun. I like the black one

5 Billy bob 80

5 smann64
bought this because of intense fishing pressure on the lake I fish. I 'm the only one catching fish with a plopper. works great

5 Nater56
Used this bait by running it along the weed line and bass destroy it with vicious attacks

5 pecoto
I bought this for tossing around in my parent's farm pond. I have had good luck with Whopper Ploppers before but those ponds are full of smaller fish that ca n't always bite, and I wanted something a bit smaller to tempt them with. I got a strike on EVERY cast, including the first one. My streak only ended when a bigger fish BROKE MY LINE. They were biting good on topwater that day but ONLY the Whopper Plopper was getting hit that much. Something about these lures just drives bass CRAZY.

5 Alamo Gene
I have all color and two sizes! Bass love it!! Then the weather gets hot it will bring them in!!

5 Mkushski
This thing is awesome! The action it makes it crazy and it draws the fish in! Definitely recommend

5 Gary
Often overlooked because of the many new modern lures on the market, this one should be included in your tackle box. The classics never go out of style because they catch fish. There's a reason that it has been on the market for so long, it works. Period. Give it a try, you wo n't be disappointed.

5 Michael W.
I have caught more bass using one of these than any other lure! It's an agitator! It enrages bass to where they want to take it out and eat it at the same time! They do n't know what's in store for them when they strike! It has so many techniques available to lure them in! And I bought 5! I have back ups just in case and backups to back them up! Too many legendary fisherman have used them and sworn by them!

5 Jaxbassguy101
I have been fishing these for years and it ’s hard to beat a “ horse ” in the spring in Florida.

5 Doug P.
It has always been my go to top water bait. Wish I could get the perch in 1/2 ounce size.

Frequently Asked Questions For Topwater Prop Bait

Topwater prop baits are fishing lures designed to float on the water's surface, creating noise and movement that attract fish. They typically feature propellers or cupped faces that create splashes and vibrations, mimicking the sounds of prey. This action can entice predatory fish to strike, making them a popular choice among anglers.

Topwater prop baits are effective for catching a variety of freshwater and saltwater fish species. Common targets include bass, pike, and trout in freshwater, while saltwater anglers often pursue species like redfish, snook, and tarpon. The effectiveness can vary based on the fishing environment and conditions.

The best time to use topwater prop baits is typically during low-light conditions, such as early morning or late evening. Fish are often more active and willing to strike at the surface during these times. Additionally, using them during overcast days can also yield good results, as fish may be more inclined to hunt near the surface.

Topwater prop baits are often made from durable materials such as plastic, wood, or composite materials. These materials are chosen for their buoyancy and ability to withstand the rigors of fishing. The choice of material can affect the lure's action, weight, and overall performance in the water.

Choosing the right topwater prop bait involves considering factors such as the type of fish you are targeting, water conditions, and the time of year. Look for baits that mimic the local prey species and match the size and color patterns that fish are feeding on. Additionally, consider the water's surface conditions, as some baits perform better in choppy waters while others excel in calm conditions.

Topwater prop baits offer unique advantages, such as the ability to provoke aggressive strikes from fish that are feeding near the surface. They create visual and auditory stimuli that can attract fish from a distance. Additionally, fishing with topwater lures can be more exciting, as anglers can see the fish strike, adding to the thrill of the experience.
