This simple water bottle is excellent for daily use. Note that it is NOT insulated and works best if you don ’ t plan on trying to keep your drink cold for long periods. It will “ sweat ” depending on the liquid temperature. I use it if I need to have some water for a quick trip of errands, but also works well when I need to mix some simple, powdered supplements. The wide opening and cap are rubberized and easy to grip, remove, and replace. The only thing I think would make this bottle better is if the cap was an attached flip cap rather than the tether, which is a little awkward, so I removed it. The transparent blue is great for giving it some style and visibility to see how much liquid you have. This bottle is consistent with Yeti's quality and durability.

Then, I used this product to filter water at a stream on a hike, and the flow was great and the product is so easy to use. I just strapped the bottle on my pack and could easily get to it to fill up and drink cold fresh water. It cleans easily and the filter worked great. [ Over the last couple weeks I tested this bottle while hiking. It's incredibly lightweight and easy to use. Placing the carbon filter was easy, just have to be cautious to not damage the fibers. Using on the trail was no issue. Simply pull from flowing water, put the lid on, and drink! I did n't notice any unusual tastes through the filter. Cleaning the bottle after a hike is quick. I appreciate that it's an easy to use system. The bottle feels high quality but the material is thin. I 'll be curious to see how it holds up after a year or more of use. [ I was genuinely impressed by how fast this filter flows, significantly better than other filters I ’ ve used in the past. Straight forward to use and clean. The bottle itself is slightly softer than a standard cycling bottle, which makes it easy to squeeze and noticeably boosts water output up to 2L/min when you need it. One important consideration: the filter components are sensitive to freezing and can be damaged if they freeze, so extra care is required in cold environments to prevent freezing. Beyond the sensitivity to freezing, I don ’ t question it ’s durability and ability to hold up in typical outdoor activities. Overall, this is an excellent option to keep on your mountain bike or in a backpack when heading into the backcountry. It offers the convenience of refilling from nearby water sources without sacrificing flow rate or usability. It is too big to fit in a running vest front pocket, but thankfully Katadyn makes filtration bottles that do! Katadyn Group gave me this free product to try.

[ I know this isn ’ t the 1st water filter bottle that can fit into a bikes water bottle mount but it ’s the first one I ’ ve used and I ’ ll tell you about what I love about it. The first is that it uses the same method to install the carbon filter to the nozzle as other Katadyn products. This method does not increase the size footprint of the product. I like my LifeStraw but to add the carbon filter you have to attach another filter to the original which almost doubles the size of it. Second thing is right out of the box there is no chemical taste from a new filter. Other brands require some filtering first to get the taste out. As a bikepacker I can see myself carrying multiple of these for long trips. I did some testing to see if this would work on other brand bottles and the thread pitch is different between brands so you have to use it only with the Katadyn bottle. The only thing I can think that would make this better would make an insulated version of it to keep it cooler on hot days. Highly recommended. Katadyn Group gave me this free product to try. Haven ’ t filtered water yet so 5 stars are based off looks and feel. The bottle is made of then squeezable plastic. I think this was the intention to get a better flow rate if using it to fill other bottles or bladders quickly and for ease of drinking from the bottle. This may lower puncture resistance but also lowers weight and bulk. The bottle is very light.

This bottle filter worked great! I used it on a self support kayak trip on the Middle Fork Salmon and was able to scoop river water and drink it immediately. The river water was very clear and clean so I did n't have any problems with the filter clogging. Your results might vary if used on a less pristine river. But I 'd highly recommend this filter

I am a fan of Katadyn Water Purifier Product. I bought 4 of the Bottles as gifts for my family members. We use them primarily for back country hunting in Wyoming so clean safe water is possible using Katadyn. The filter seem reliable, easy to clean, dry, and start use again after a trip. I have used the Katadyn 6 liter Be Free Gravity Filter for static camp, and the Katadyn Be Free 1 liter bag bottle is always in my pack empty but available for use when needed. My thoughts are the bottle being a little harder plastic would be more durable for use similar to a bike water bottle style but with the filter built in. New this Unit has a Carbon Filter. I find Katadyn Filters to be excellent, and I would recommend for back packers as they are lightweight& do n't easily clog for me.

We recently used this on a recent road trip as the dogs' water bottle/dish. It worked beautifully. One of my dogs was weary about sticking his nose in the dish at first, but he eventually got used to it. Pros: Really pretty/cool looking, works great as a waterbottle, dogs love having their own bottle( usually the humans have juice/ice in their bottles). It seems very well- made and sturdy. Cons: It has n't leaked so far, but if you drink and then immediately close it, a few drops of water( maybe a teaspoon at most) can drip out where water has collected under the lid. Do n't throw this somewhere right next to electronics. Also, there is a weird plastic `` handle '' that I have n't really found a use for, and it prevents me from sliding the bottle into a tight space.
