These are all new for OluKai in many ways. The footbed has a softer and more pliable rubber giving the entire flip flop a higher impact resistance over any terrain. The ride is almost luxurious like a custom orthotic. It has a high arch and the shoe is built a bit wider. I would say they run 1/2 size larger. I wear a size 11. 5 in running shoes and I purchased a size 11 in the Ahi Kai and are perfect. Highly recommend these as you sporty/water do- it- all flip flops. [ I bought these last month on recommendation from my daughter and her boyfriend. I ’ ve had some water shoes for the beach- the kind with straps all over. Though I have had them for a few years, all of a sudden they decided to give me blisters. I ’ ve never had flip flops because they always look like you are walking around on a chunk of foam, are flat as a pancake and super uncomfortable. These Hokua sandals feel like wearing tennis shoes, with arch support, but are light weight and cool on your feet. The black leather looks great! Like flip flops for an adult!
