I have been on the hunt for a longer raincoat that covers my rear. I have a `` regular '' length Columbia raincoat that I love. This one is great and will be in heavy rotation. I got the Greenscape color. I am 5' 5 '' and wear a women 's 16. I got an XXL to be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. It is generously sized. I might have been able to go XL. I knocked a star off for 2 things that others have raised here. The hood is pretty much useless as it either falls in your eyes or flops backwards. Point 2 is that in my other Columbia rain jacket you can tighten the cuffs with a strap to stop water or wind from blowing up your sleeve. The Weekend Adventure has one snap that tightens the cuff by about an inch. That is not going to keep water or wind out.

I bought this jacket before a 5 day backbacking trip in the mountains during late August because of warmth, weight, and compressibility. It was plenty warm enough for cool evenings and at high elevations. But the best feature of this jacket is the hood. The hood fits so well around your face and neck. This has become my favourite layer under my shell for cold winter hikes when its- 20 and the wind is blowing.

It has even performed perfectly on walks in temperatures well below freezing. I ’ m just over 5 ’ 6 ” and 150 lbs, athletic build and medium works well. This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It 's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It 's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it 's in it 's pocket turned carry pouch, it 's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I got this for an upcoming trip to Ireland. I am 5' 1 '' and a size 25 waist but I got a size S so I can still wear sweaters underneath. It 's so cute and exactly what I was looking for! So far I 've worn it during heavy rain while walking my dog and I stayed completely dry. I like the little flap on the hood so rain does n't get in your face as easily. I like the adjustable waist and hood. I would 've preferred buttons or some other way to secure the front flap as opposed to the velcro but it is n't that big of a deal to me. It feels well made and is warm without making me hot. It does look like a heavier coat because of the insolation but it 's pretty light.

I bought the Lawernce Jacket and matching pants in Alpine Green and when I wear them together I get asked if I work for the forestry service so maybe I should have gone for another color. It 's a great jacket with lots of pockets in the right spot. I appreciate the cell phone leash and the goggle whips built in. It would be nice if the front zipper pull was a bit bigger or had a cord on it to make zipping up with gloves on easier like the pocket zippers have. And the collar could be a bit roomier to Zip up when wearing a neck gator.

I havent tested in temps below zero yet or rainy conditions but I 'm sure if you added a shell over it would be fine

[ I did not research any 3- in- 1 jackets before going to the store and I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted this one. I always wear a small size in coats but definitely need a medium to be comfortable. I love omni tech and require that from a winter coat. This jacket has been very warm so far and being waterproof in Oregon is necessary. I never thought I 'd separate the coats, but less than a week after purchasing, they became the perfect separates on a warmer vacation. The hood is not insulated but stays on through the wind. I wo n't need the ski skirt option and it 's not a nuisance. I will note that it might be easier to dry the jackets separate after washing, or at least pull inner sleeves out or they will not dry timely. I 'm very pleased with this jackets, more than I ever expected.

I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. It is also roomy enough for layering underneath, and I enjoy the big pocket for storage in the back. 10/10 would recommend.
