I bought this about a month ago and was skeptical because I suffer from posterior tibial tendonitis and I* must* have the proper foot support. I 've worn Dansko for 25 years and I realized that I ca n't wear them anymore, so I tried these. In general, doctors have told me not to wear open heeled shoes because of toe gripping and my condition, but these shoes seriously have the best arch support that I 've ever had. I have some excellent Aetrex shoes but these are the best. I took this on my first trip to the western states and used them hiking in Estes State Park and Yellowstone, my legs were sore from the inclines and walking long before my feet ever where! The closed toe was protective on rocky trails, and the sandal was lighter and rubbed my ankles much less than other, heavier models of Keen sport sandals.
