I bought this life vest to have on board a kayak since you know, that 's the law! Comfort was n't really a concern going into the purchase, knowing I would n't be wearing it much if at all. Price, however, was and I did n't want to spend$ 100 on something. This vest is actually really comfortable and fits well for a lower price point. I have a larger chest( 36D) and normally wear a medium or large top( 29- 30 '' waist), and the S/M fit perfectly. I can sit comfortably too, and the vest does n't ride up and the shoulders do n't push up either. For reference, I 'm 5' 3 '' with an average length torso.
