For size reference, I 'm petite 5' x 1 '' and have this in size XS. For a more fitted look, I probably could have sized down. One feature I like about the vest is the bottom drawstring as I am able to cinch it for a more fitted look. I bought this for a 60ish mile canoe trip some 20 or so of my friends and I do every year. I 've never taken a PFD on this trip in previous years because it's typically low water. But we had gotten a boatload( see what I did there) of rain and the water was raging so I thought I should pick one up in a hurry. This was a rush buy, but it turned out to be far more comfortable than I had imagined. I hardly noticed I was wearing it even after having it on for 10+ hours a day. The pockets make it very convenient to have smaller items readily accessible on my chest. Unfortunately, on day 3 during a moderate rescue, I left the jacket on the river bank and finished the trip without it. And although this would n't be my first choice for white water, I will still buy another one because I liked it so much.

I have n't been in the water with it yet, but it fit well( I ordered a Large, I 'm 5' 10 '' tall and weigh 150 lbs) and felt comfortable. I intend to mostly use it for fishing from a fishing float tube or standing in water fly fishing wearing chest waders and it 'll work great for those purposes. Found the zipper to be a little bit difficult to get started( the padding down at the bottom obstructs the zipper a little bit but it works OK once you get it started. Nice pockets, but as a fisherman I could always use more!). Neither of those issues made me rate it below five stars. First off I 'd recommend going a size down if you 're planning on wearing this with light and thin underlayers, but if you 're wanting to wear it with thicker items like the Canada Shirt, I 'd go with your true size. The main feature I love about this vest is how it does not pill easily. I 'm pretty hard on my clothing and wear things out quickly, but this vest really holds up. It's got plenty of pockets that make it a worthy travelling vest, and the G- 1000 on the shoulders ensures that you wo n't wear through them while carrying a bag or heavy load. This piece also keep you just warm enough without being too heavy.

I 'll admit when I picked this vest up I was a little hesitant on its warmth keeping abilities do to its light weight and fragile feel. Let's just say I was very impressed how well it works to keep me warm. This is a great little vest. I would think the full sleeve jacket version would be too warm for me on a regular basis in the spring time in the PNW so this is perfect for my needs of casual walking around and hiking in 40- 50 degree weather. Over 55 degrees walking around I start sweating with this and a long sleeve shirt on. Very happy with this purchase.

Great quality product. I ’ m 166 cm tall and I weigh 56kg. I bought size XS, which fits me, but if you plan to wear it with more layers or your sweater is thicker or oversized you might definitely want to size up. I love that it is insulated and keeps me warm on cold mornings. With 80g of Thermolite, it traps in warm air while wicking away moisture from my skin. It is windproof and water- repellant which is perfect for me. It also has a tall collar that helps keep the wind out. It is true to size and fits me well. The back is made of breathable spandex. I like that there are zippered pockets located on both sides of this vest with a stash pocket for small items located inside the outer pocket. There are also two inner pockets as well. It has a zipper and snap closure for added protection from the elements. The zipper is easy to pull up and down thanks to the extended pull attached to it.
