[ This vest is very cozy! It is pretty thick( yet lightweight) and will certainly keep me warm during the winter months. It's nice on days when I want some added warmth, but do n't want to wear a jacket or coat. A great transitional piece. So far, I have worn it a couple of ways- with a fitted long sleeve t- shirt( pictured) and with a thick hoodie. It worked very well both ways! It does fit on the looser side. For size reference, I 'm petite 5' x 1 '' and have this in size XS. For a more fitted look, I probably could have sized down. One feature I like about the vest is the bottom drawstring as I am able to cinch it for a more fitted look. The side zippered pockets allow me to secure my items without needing to worry about them slipping out. Overall, I highly recommend it!

[ This is my first puffer vest. I usually wear a slimmer top layer, but this vest is warm! I got a Large, but could probably fit a Medium better. I knew I wanted to wear a layer( or two) underneath and sized up. This vest( and my added layers) would have fit fine as a medium. I 'm on the shorter side, around 5'3, and this was a great length. The pockets are well lined and warm. The zipper is smooth and the flap covering it does n't let the cold air through when snapped. My only dislike was cold air coming in the sleeves, but that is a vest- related risk, regardless. Great style and it will get a lot of wear.

I 've had mine over 2 years, and it is finally showing some age... slight gives and tears in fabric, but hey, I 've put it through the ringer... use it 3 to 4x a week. I never did use the water bottle attachment though. Too floppy. UPDATE: So my first review was 7 years ago. I bought another vest because I finally am seeing some wear on the Velcro straps on my first vest. It is still usable, but over time, it has gotten dirty and I figured just get another one. I still bike with it but I am also power- walking up hills with it. I love that the weights are dispersed on the back and front because then you do n't have an uneven pull just on your back and risk injury. This vest is solidly made- the stitches in my older vest never tore( although the fabric thinned creating small holes where the weights constantly rubbed during the work outs- but after 7 years of excessive use- that's nothing!). My new vest is black. At first I thought I 'd be disappointed because black holds in heat vs the grey, but then it also wo n't show dirt as much either. The DSG running vest arrived right in time for the late fall/early winter temperature drop of Wisconsin. Perfect weight running vest for below freezing mornings. Does excellent job blocking cold winds and keeps my core warm. I have used this vest for many early cold mornings and have been extremely happy with the breathability. Vest has extremely large pockets for those who like to carry phones, nutrition packets, etc. Only thing I would change about this vest is adding some added reflective areas. The small strip in the back reflects very well, but some in the front would be good. I have overcome this issue by just using my clip on safety light and it stays mounted well on the pocket area. Definitely recommend this vest for cold weather runners.

First off I 'd recommend going a size down if you 're planning on wearing this with light and thin underlayers, but if you 're wanting to wear it with thicker items like the Canada Shirt, I 'd go with your true size. The main feature I love about this vest is how it does not pill easily. I 'm pretty hard on my clothing and wear things out quickly, but this vest really holds up. It's got plenty of pockets that make it a worthy travelling vest, and the G- 1000 on the shoulders ensures that you wo n't wear through them while carrying a bag or heavy load. This piece also keep you just warm enough without being too heavy.

This is a really great vest and especially the design is perfet as it is sleek, functional and provides both warmth and protection for the shoulders. Picked this up a few days ago to replace a lighter vest that was too fiddly( too many tiny weights), did n't hang the weight comfortably or tightly( I 'm 5'9 '' and 160lb, athletically muscled with a 31 '' waist and S- to- M shirt size), and was exceedingly dorky looking. Having tested this on a hike and loading at- home weightlifting, I 'm very pleased. Pros: 1) 75lbs is a solid amount of weight at a reasonable cost.$ 200 is same as the 60lb Ethos vest, and much less than plate carrier and vest systems you need to buy weight for separately. Enough mass to progress with for a while. 2) reasonably finely adjustable but not fiddly. 3lb and 6lb increments mean you can dial in progressive overload well, without having to mess around with a ton of weights that take excessive time to load/unload. 3) pocket and weight system is very easy to use and adaptable. Big velcro pouches could fit other things- if you want to be able to increment in other multiples of 5#, buy or make( e. g. sand in a ziploc) yourself a 2lb or some 1lbs and they 'll fit securely no problem. Weights included are tightly packed sand, I think, inside of vinyl plastic containers, so you could probably also make/buy denser weights- lead fishing weights or shot, for instance- to get it even heavier than 75#. 4) I love the fit system. It has a zip on the front, and a single very large velcro waist belt that can be pulled as snugly as you like. I have n't tried any inverted exercises or jogging, but the attachment and fitment system should get tight enough to support that. Sits very comfortably, placing the weight nicely on the strong part of the shoulders, and you have two ways to get it on/off( overhead with the zipper left zipped, or unzip and take off like a jacket). Note my sizing above- other than the waist belt there's limited adjustability to the chest circumference, so YMMV. 5) style. Look, no one's winning runway shows wearing a weight vest. You 're going to look like cosplay SWAT or a terrorist. But, this one is n't bad- it's bulky like all heavy weight vesta but carries it nicely distributed around the body, and is certainly is not the most ridiculous vest I 've seen. Can also easily throw a light fleece vest over the top of it What would I change if I were a product designer: 1) I can not comment yet on durability, which I see was a ding on the 60# from Ethos on this site, so will be looking out for fraying. 2) it does n't have a cell phone/ keys pocket. I would n't trust the weight pouches for keys( they have gaps at the corners), and they load sideways while being too short for most modern smartphones. Wear something else with pockets to keep your phones/snacks/earbuds/etc in. 3) I wish it had a loop on the back/at the neck to hang up for easier loading/unloading 4) it does n't have any D- rings or similar built- in attachment points to hang stuff off, for added modularity.

I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. The 6 straps allow proper fit no matter where the space is needed. Another plus to the Outfitter Universal is it's easy to get the paddler some ventilation on hot days. The jacket rides well on the body allowing for day long comfortable paddling. We can buy any pfd and continue to use 150 of the Outfitter Universal. Hope you check them out. [ This vest has me so excited for the the cold weather! At 5 ’ 2 ”, this synthetic fill puffy vest falls right above the knee for me in the front and is a little longer in the back. I love this feature for times when I will be sitting outside. I am a special education teacher and part of my job is walking and spending time outside in the community with my students daily, even in the cold Pennsylvania winters. It is a comfort to know that I now have this outerwear that is not only waterproof, will keep me warm due to Nike ’s Therma- FIT technology. The fit is roomy enough that I can comfortably wear layers underneath while not needing a scarf as the collar zips up to my chin. Along with being warm, I love that there is a slight pattern on most of the vest, but it is subtle enough to keep it from being overwhelming. It is stylish, yet comfortable and practical for movement, which is always what I am looking for in clothing for both work and in my personal life. The feature of removing the pads slowly is awesome. My youngest has all the pads in and my oldest has two pass removed now and is learning to swim great. It keeps them a float quickly rising them to the surface if they jump in the water. It does n't shift on them at all when tightened appropriately and also not invasive if they are n't in the water. They do n't mind walking around with it on. I love that they can be independent in the water at this age.

If you are looking for something that completely holds child up and out of the water with no attention from you, then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something to help your child actually learn to swim on their own, there is literally nothing better- or even close!!! I have been looking for this exact product since last summer, as I used it for my 2 older children and there is nothing even close to as good to teach a child to swim on their own. They are now 16 and 14, and could swim 100% independently at 2 and 3 thanks to this product. Flotation in both front and back, unlike traditional bubbles, but without arm flotation, like the newly popular puddle jumper, which restricts arm movement to correctly `` swim '' properly. Puddle jumpers are great if you want a ton of flotation, but too much if you want to actually teach to swim. But this Swimways `` vest '' allows you to slowly and gradually reduce the amount of flotation by removing 1 pad at a time from the front or back or both. You can control if they are leaning too far forward or back by adjusting the number of pads. By removing 1 or 2 pads at a time, you can reduce the amount of flotation gradually, so your child can get used to less help and having to do more to stay afloat and learn to swim until eventually swimming on their own. Other devices go from 100% flotation to 0- where this goes 100% to 90% to 80% and so on down to an Independent Swimmer!!!!
