[ This is the second time I have purchased these shorts. I finally wore out the first pair which I purchased 2 years ago. I know the shorts are designed for fishing and ocean- related stuff. Yes, I use them for everyday wear as well as for the sport I play which is Lawn Bowls. The side pocket is great for holding everything from my lip balm to my measure for bowls. The only thing I find that is not so good is the stitching along the bottom of front pockets had to be resewn as this just does n't seem to hold. Other than that This is a great pair of shorts.

I work outside, and finding comfortable shorts that are n't too short is definitely tricky. I would suggest sizing down, based on the size chart I needed a 2X, but I tried on the XL in store and they have PLENTY of room. They have a 6 '' inseam, which is a little longer than I usually like, but will still be comfortable. Rated durability a 3 because I have n't really put them to the test yet.

I wear a women 's 14- 16 depending on the bottoms and the 14 fits very well. They have a little give in them as well which is nice. I love that the slightly longer inseam helps prevent them from riding up in between the legs when walking( I find it annoying when my shorts do that). I hike with my phone in the back pocket and have not had any issues. I also like that the front pockets are very deep! The side zipper pocket is not very big but is still useful for things like keys and tissues.
