[ Makes an excellent base layer for outdoor sports activity. Just used mine on a ski trip in very cold weather and it was perfect. I wont hesitate to buy more of the CARHARTT base layer product line.

These Undergarments were a gift to my son. He wears them daily and he says they are great. They keep him warm and I 'm going to order more for him un the future. I would definitely recommend these to my other 3 sons and anyone else who is looking for the same type of clothing. Thank you Carhartt... excellence always!

Bought these to use as an alternative to fleece lined work pants. Much prefer these as it provides more flexibility, yet keeps you warm. They fit well and pair with my canvas work pants. I particularly like the idea that if the weather warms up enough, I can simply take them off, whereas with lined pants, you 're stuck unless you keep an additional pair of pants with you. These launder well too. The seams in them are placed well so there's no `` tugging '' or tightness. To me, they 're a great cold weather investment.

5 RonaldR
[ Really good and very warm comfortable insulated pants.

5 ToddS
Had the chance to trial these on a field test, very warm and durable. nice snug fit, plenty of room to flex and move. No need for extra layers with these, wore with Carhartt lined bibs and was very comfortable all day

5 DanielF
I received this set of base layer pants for a Carhartt Crew Filed Test to test its warmth, comfort, and durability in real world working conditions. This is by far the warmest and most comfortable set of base layer pants I have ever worn. I wore them over the winter in Colorado and Wyoming in cold weather, heavy snow, and strong winds. I was warm and comfortable no matter what Mother Nature threw at me. They wick away moisture and move with me all day. I would recommend this base layer for anyone who works outdoors in the winter.

5 PatrickK
Received these thermal pants for Carhartt field testing. They strike a nice balance between being very warm, lightweight, and comfortable. Wore under double- front jeans or canvas pants in single- digit temperatures with negative wind chills and my legs stayed warm while moving/working. Their light weight is nice for putting in a pack if it gets too warm while hunting or hiking. They are also comfortable to lounge in in warmer temperatures! Pants are true to size and seem durable, however, I have heard thread stretching when I put them on from time to time( I wear size large and am between a 34- 36 waist).

[ Great thermal. Very heavy very warm. Pleasantly surprised it did not shrink when I washed it.

5 CurtisK
I ’ ve used it for skiing and also just lounging around the house. It ’s extremely comfortable and quickly becoming one of my favorite shirts.

5 MicahB
This is great base layer! As far as the appearance parameter goes, I suppose that is limited by the user. But the shirt itself is great.

5 AlanL
I work outside at our airport, mostly outside for hours at a time, sometimes in and out in and out. This piece surprised me. It ’s warm, breathes and I don ’ t get sweaty going from cold to warm. I ’ m 5 ’ 7 165 43 chest 33 waist. I went large and got a perfect fit. I ’ m usually between medium and large in Carhartt so, I have to gamble on everything I buy. This is a winner for me.

I received this thermal shirt as part of the carhartt crew field test and let me just say they are amazing. The fabric is soft and silky and they fit true to size. I wore them under my Jean's and tshirt to work and they kept me just the perfect warmth. I wear them about 3 times a week and wash them as well and they seem to be holding up great so thank you for a great product. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for warmth and comfort

5 Babyd
I received this thermal shirt to test from carheartt crew and I absolutely love it! It is very comfortable and fits perfectly. I love the moisturizer wicking fabric! It has hidden thumb loops to make it easy to put on your jacket. I would definitely recommend this thermal to family and friends.

5 AndreaJ
I received the Base Force Midweight Tech Crew Thermals as part of a Carhartt Crew field test and I'am so happy I did because I love these thermals! My favorite part is the thumb loopholes that keeps your thermal shirt in place when you layer over top of it with jackets or sweatshirts. The thermal is very comfortable and kept me dry at all times. It has sweat wicking& prevents odor. You can not go wrong with this thermal and I highly recommend it.

5 MELANIEW
I couldn ’ t be happier about being chosen to field test this set! As requested I wore these as much as possible( 3- 4 x a week)! These are honestly the best thermals I ’ ve ever worn!! Whom ever designed these thought of everything!! From the warm ultra soft moisture wicking fabric that keeps you dry and toasty, to the stay in place thumb holes in the top for comfort, you couldn ’ t ask for better thermals!!

5 MehganM
Love the deep purple, top base layer! It fit really well and was long enough despite my 5' 11 '' height. If you are a C cup or bigger, you might want to size up, but for anything smaller it should work. It's odd that this was long enough but the matching pants are not as I 'm very proportional. In any event, I 'm grateful to have this top and I love the feminine color! Thank you!

It's a great fit i will get another one but this time in medium size. It's a hit& miss on my end.

5 Cab123
I purchased one of these and liked it so much I went back and got another one. The fit is perfect. But I did have to size up to an extra large which I have to do with all Carhartt space layers for their shirts. But I like the fit and I like the materials. I wear them at work and it's a lot better to sweat in these than it is a cotton shirt. I believe these are the newer models also as they do n't have the sewn on Carhartt tag. Nonetheless they are still quality shirts but are a little on the pricey side at$ 50 each. But still worth it in my opinion.

5 KR17
Warm and comfortable. Wore all day skiing. Did not disappoint

Little expensive for a base layer but it does its job keeping you warm. I used it a few times and it does work. I will say get one size up runs small. I am 6ft and 185 and my normal is L but had to get an XL.

[ I bought these for my husband who happens to love Carhart. Moosjaw had the most competitive pricing and shipping rates. The product got here fast, and safety packaged.

[ Best value for your money as far as base layers go. You can spend 3x more on Smartwool or Icebreaker if you are looking for the best with a hefty price tag. Overall, this lives up to Carhartt ’s name

5 Bobby
[ I knew I was getting a good shirt because this is my second one. It fits snug enough to keep out the wind. It wicks and dries like an athletic shirt. Since it is 100% polyester, it is likely more durable than most. It keeps its shape and looks better than most.

5 Kaiii
[ Carthatt is a quality brand that is made affordable. I used this for my snow trip and it gave me warmth so I do n't have to layer too much. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Frequently Asked Questions For Workwear Base Layer

A workwear base layer is a type of clothing designed to be worn next to the skin, providing insulation and moisture management during physical activities in various work environments. It is typically made from materials that wick away sweat, keeping you dry and comfortable throughout the day. This layer is important because it helps regulate body temperature, allowing for better performance and comfort in both cold and warm conditions. Additionally, a good base layer can enhance overall mobility and flexibility, making it easier to perform tasks effectively.

Workwear base layers are typically made from a variety of materials designed to provide comfort and functionality. Common materials include synthetic blends, which offer moisture-wicking properties, and wool, known for its warmth and breathability. Many base layers also incorporate features like stretch for ease of movement and durability to withstand tough working conditions. These materials work together to keep you comfortable throughout the day, whether you're on the job site or outdoors.

To choose the right size for a workwear base layer, start by measuring your chest, waist, and hips to find your measurements. Consult the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary between brands. Consider the fit you prefer; some may opt for a snug fit for layering, while others might prefer a looser style for comfort. Additionally, think about the type of activities you will be doing, as this can influence your size choice.

When selecting a quality workwear base layer, consider materials that offer moisture-wicking properties to keep you dry and comfortable throughout the day. Look for options with thermal insulation to provide warmth without bulk, as well as breathability to regulate temperature during physical activity. Additionally, features like flatlock seams can enhance comfort by reducing chafing, while a snug fit ensures that the base layer stays in place during movement.

Workwear base layers are designed to provide comfort and moisture management, making them suitable for various seasons. In colder months, heavier options can offer insulation, while lighter styles are ideal for warmer weather, helping to wick away sweat. Many base layers are made from breathable materials that adapt to changing temperatures, ensuring you stay comfortable throughout the year. Overall, they can be a versatile addition to your workwear wardrobe.

Workwear base layers enhance comfort during physical activities by providing moisture-wicking properties that help keep the skin dry. They are designed to fit snugly against the body, reducing chafing and allowing for a full range of motion. Many base layers are made from materials that offer insulation while remaining breathable, ensuring that you stay warm without overheating. This combination of features makes them ideal for layering in various work environments and outdoor activities.

Mid-weight workwear base layers are designed to provide a balance of warmth and breathability, making them suitable for moderate temperatures and active use. Heavyweight base layers, on the other hand, offer increased insulation and are ideal for colder conditions or when you need extra warmth during low-activity periods. The choice between mid-weight and heavyweight options often depends on the specific climate and the level of activity you expect to engage in while wearing them. Both types are typically made from materials that wick moisture away from the skin to enhance comfort.

Workwear base layers are designed primarily for layering under other clothing, but many can be worn as standalone pieces depending on the style and fit. They often feature moisture-wicking properties and comfortable materials, making them suitable for casual wear or light activities. However, it's important to consider the specific design and intended use of the base layer to ensure it meets your needs when worn alone.

To determine the best fit for layering with other workwear, consider the thickness and material of the base layer. A snug fit is ideal for the base layer, as it helps trap warmth without adding bulk. Additionally, ensure that the base layer allows for ease of movement and is compatible with the outer layers you plan to wear. Checking the sizing chart and trying on different styles can also help you find the right fit for your layering needs.

Workwear base layers are designed for a variety of activities, particularly those that involve outdoor work or labor in colder conditions. They provide essential insulation and moisture-wicking properties, making them suitable for tasks such as construction, farming, or any outdoor job where staying warm and dry is important. Additionally, these base layers can be worn during recreational activities like hiking or skiing, where comfort and temperature regulation are key. Their versatility allows them to be layered under other clothing for added warmth and protection.
