Very effective compression short-- used with or without the cup. The inner jockstrap holds the cup in place effectively, though it can be worn without the cup and provides great support. I used them on a 6 day bike tour this spring as my only 'off bike' undergarment and need to tell you I looked forward to their comfy form fit each day after the long ride in my riding shorts. My wife says 'it's gross' not to wash them every day, but I did n't and they did just fine! So, they have earned a place in my weight conscious panniers. Thanks for a great product!
