5 Garett M.
My son is on snow, 4+ days a week. He ’s blown through a number of other gloves that are more expensive than the spark. I wear other Black Diamond mittens that have always been durable, warm, and comfortable. I ’ m anticipating that these will last longer than other more expensive gloves that my son has worn. Black Diamond makes great product.

5 Mackenzie W.
I ’ ve only bought this pair because my 5 year old pair was stolen. Through probably 40+ patrol days a year and countless ski and touring days these are consistently the best moderate cold gloves I ’ ve ever had. The leather is durable and the insulation is perfect. It ’s an excellent glove. Only con: BD gloves tend to fit a bit big for the size and it isn ’ t consistent across all gloves. Best to try before you order

5 Stephen B.
Hands down these are the best gloves I ’ ve ever worn. I ’ ve had other name brand gloves but the quality of these surpass every other brand.

5 MICHAEL M.
I use these gloves for projects where i need the dexterity of fingers. Like the spark mitts, these had a tight wrist area to keep the snow and cold out and warm and roomy finger area. Also like the leash strap on each glove so they hang off your wrist when you take them off.( No more losing them in the snow)

5 John D.
I mostly use these for winter backcountry skiing. Easy to get on and off. Warm enough and lots of dexterity. Very durable.

The only winter gloves my husband will wear! They are warm, keep his hands dry, and fit well. He uses them for everything from shoveling to skiing.

5 Stephen
Will be using them all winter. I am a full time ski instructor. They feel good and look like I will have warm and dry hands!

5 Doug
Found them on sale and had a gift card so thought I 'd give them a try. I love them! As long as you take care of them by washing them with NixWax and use leather balm they seem like they could last forever!

5 Jason
I do love the new gloves. I used the size chart and I feel like the XL was the right size for me. The look and material are of a high quality. They keep me warm in cold conditions skiing. For future builds I wish:- They had a zipper pouch for hand warmer and doubles as a vent. I would recommend these gloves and would purchase again.

5 mary
I use these gloves for snow shoveling and ca n't praise them enough! They keep my hands warm and dry and have the right amount of flexibility so I can use my fingers. I bought a pair for my neighbor's birthday after she admired mine and she loves hers, too!! Highly recommend!

These gloves remind me of TNF stuff from the 80's, amazing quality and thoughtful design with high end materials.

5 Gichan
These gloves keep your hand dried very well. I have n't used under several weather yet, so I am not sure about waterproof from rain& snow yet. I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

5 Debbie
I love my new gloves. Used them in the rain and they kept my hands warm and dry. Fit is perfect too.

[ Very comfortable and flexible gloves. These seem warm and will be great for outdoor winter chores due to the durability of the leather and the waterproofing.

5 HillaryF
[ High quality 3M Thinsulate gloves. These gloves are super warm and soft on the inside. They look rugged with their leather on the outside. Perfect for working outdoors or outdoor activities. They arent stiff meaning you can actually feel what youre trying to pick up. Even come with a removable wrist strap so if needed you can take the gloves off and still know where they are and then quickly put them back on.

5 LindaL
[ The Wells Lamont HydraHyde insulated gloves are perfect for cold weather hand protection. The leather repels moisture but stays flexible. The insulation keeps hands warm in cold weather. I really like the knitted wrist as it keeps snow out. These gloves seem very durable. The downside to these is that my dexterity is n't great when wearing them. My fine motor skill tasks are a bit tricky. Overall, these gloves keep my hands warm and dry, and they are affordable to purchase.

5 GabrielL

Bought these to wear for the games when it gets really cold, and ended up wearing them every day to walk my dogs in the winter! Super warm, highly recommend.

5 Snug as a Bug
My husband and I are HUGE Kansas City Chiefs fans! We never miss a game. For me, though, it was always watching from the warmth of my own home. My husband has been trying for years to get me to go to a stadium game, but I just ca n't deal with being cold for any long period of time. Even though we have friends over on game days, he has always wanted me to have the whole football experience of pre- game tailgating, parking lot cook offs, and hearing the thousands of fans cheering for our favorite team. I could just never do it. That was before someone introduced us to ActionHeat! From the first time I slipped my ice cold hands into those warm and toasty Chiefs gloves, I was sold. I got a couple other Action Heat items and I was ready to partake in what was soon to be one of the funnest times I 've ever had watching the game! I finally got to experience what everyone kept telling me I was missing out on, and I WAS!!! Thank you so much ActionHeat. You guys REALLY changed everything! I will continue to purchase your gear and recommend these gloves, especially, to EVERY cold- handed, warm- hearted lover of Football I come across!! I 'm definitely a FAN of ActionHeat for life!!

Fit is good, quality is good, love the color combo and appearance. Have n't used the liner on a cold day yet to see how much warmer they are. Dexterity is good for a thick glove. Not typing texts with these but can uze zippers, adjust goggles and helmet, the basics you need on the mountain. Have n't check in the rain either but it wo n't be long to test that. Honestly all gore- tex is n't what it once was in the 80s. Pay for a name but it really does n't deliver that way it used to.

I got these for my son who spends a lot of time either shoveling the snow or playing with my grandson in the snow. We have had a lot of below zero windchills, and it becomes very dangerous for frostbite without the proper gloves. He absolutely loves these! He says they are the best gloves in below zero windchills! When temps are less harsh, and he takes my grandson outside to play in the snow, he says his hands are nice and warm! I highly reconnend these gloves for outside play and below zero windchills.

5 Jim54

5 Kodiak
I purchased these for myself at 50% off. I would recommend these at that price point, but not at$ 20. The xl size is a bit smaller than other xl gloves, and wo n't fit a liner glove for skiing. I still love these gloves and will continue to use them. HOWEVER, I did gain some more experience with them. Doing astrophotography in Arches in 21 degree weather taught me that I 'll need to add another layer and use hand warmers with these. They were fine while the blood was pumping, but when it came to waiting around, my fingers got numb. They would be perfectly fine for anything above 32 degrees. The pull tabs and large openings made it easy to get my hands in and out quickly. Adjusts at the wrist and opening for a tighter fit.

I skiied over a hundred days this past season and used these glove liners every day. NO problems! I use them under a pair of heated outside gloves which were not keeping my hands warm enough. With these liners my hands stay plenty warm even in very extreme Colorado Rocky winter temperatures. I usually run them on medium and they last 4- 5 hours.

5 Kim
The liners fit in all my gloves.. Love the setting options. I have not used them for over 3 hours or below 30 degrees. Given they have a battery pack and they make the wrist area tight and bulky..... you can adjust the battery location in the top OR bottom compartment of the liner.

I could n't decide between the snow gloves and the premium gloves and just decided to try the cheaper ones first to see if they heated up enough for a Wisconsin winter. Yuppers, they do. So with the money I saved not buying the snow gloves, I got some more 5volt batteries, so my hands do n't every get cold if I can help it. Shoveling snow or brushing off my car I wear these gloves and they have n't let me down yet.

5 Jamie
I usually buy the Grabber hand warmers during the winter in order to slip them inside my gloves to keep my hands warm. When I saw these heated gloves in the store, I thought it was such a clever idea. It saves me money and I feel better about not using so many disposable hand warmers. The battery packs are slim and not even noticeable inside the zippered pocket on the cuffs. They are convenient and easy to use and recharge.

5 Cassidy
I wanted to try a set of battery heated gloves that heat fingers, and you can definitely feel the heat in these gloves. I have poor circulation around my hands, so the heating from these gloves helped a lot.

5 loggermike
I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. I could even take the mittens off, use my fingers to put some nuts on bolts, and put the mittens back on.... No problem. No more painfully cold fingers.

5 KMRM
Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. Also love the tough exterior on the palm side-- seem like they will be long lasting. Hestra is my new favorite brand-- I also bought the white leather ones for cross- country skiing.

Frequently Asked Questions For Best Winter Gloves for Extreme Cold

When selecting winter gloves for extreme cold, consider insulation materials that provide warmth without bulk. Look for waterproof and windproof features to keep hands dry and protected from harsh weather conditions. A snug fit at the wrist can help retain heat, while additional features like touchscreen compatibility can enhance usability. Finally, consider gloves with reinforced palms for improved grip and durability during outdoor activities.

To determine the right size for winter gloves, start by measuring the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Use a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string that you can measure against a ruler. Once you have the measurement, refer to the sizing chart typically provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary. It's also helpful to consider the type of insulation and lining in the gloves, as this can affect the fit and comfort.

When selecting gloves for extreme cold, materials that provide effective insulation are crucial. Synthetic insulations, such as Thinsulate or Primaloft, are popular for their lightweight properties and ability to retain warmth even when wet. Natural materials like down offer excellent warmth-to-weight ratios but may not perform as well in wet conditions. Additionally, gloves with waterproof and breathable membranes help keep hands dry while maintaining warmth, making them ideal for harsh winter environments.

Yes, certain styles of winter gloves are designed to provide enhanced warmth for extreme cold conditions. Mittens, for example, often offer better insulation since they allow fingers to share warmth, while gloves with thicker insulation and waterproof materials can help keep hands dry and warm. Additionally, gloves with adjustable cuffs can help seal in heat and block out cold air. Look for features like fleece linings and thermal insulation to maximize warmth.

Winter gloves designed for extreme cold typically feature advanced insulation materials and waterproofing technologies to provide enhanced warmth and protection against harsh weather conditions. They often have a thicker construction and may include additional features such as adjustable cuffs, reinforced palms, and ergonomic designs for improved dexterity. In contrast, regular winter gloves may offer basic insulation and are suitable for milder temperatures, making them less effective in severe cold environments. Overall, gloves for extreme cold prioritize both thermal efficiency and durability to withstand challenging outdoor activities.

Winter gloves designed for extreme cold are ideal for a variety of outdoor activities where warmth and dexterity are essential. These gloves are well-suited for skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing, as they provide insulation and protection against harsh weather conditions. Additionally, they can be used for winter hiking, ice fishing, and other activities that require extended exposure to frigid temperatures. Their design often allows for both warmth and functionality, making them versatile for various cold-weather pursuits.

Waterproofing is crucial in winter gloves designed for extreme cold, as it helps keep hands dry and warm in harsh conditions. Moisture from snow or rain can quickly lead to discomfort and reduced insulation effectiveness. Gloves with waterproof materials provide a barrier against wetness, ensuring that your hands remain protected during outdoor activities. This feature is especially important for those engaging in sports or extended exposure to cold, wet environments.

Mittens generally provide better warmth in extreme cold conditions because they allow fingers to share heat, reducing the overall surface area exposed to the cold. This design can be particularly beneficial for activities where dexterity is less critical. Gloves, on the other hand, offer more finger mobility, which can be advantageous for tasks requiring precision. Ultimately, the choice between mittens and gloves depends on the balance between warmth and dexterity needed for specific activities in harsh winter environments.

To ensure the durability of winter gloves in harsh weather, it is important to choose gloves made from high-quality materials that are designed to withstand extreme conditions. Look for features such as waterproofing, insulation, and reinforced seams, which can enhance the longevity of the gloves. Additionally, proper care and maintenance, such as cleaning and drying them according to the manufacturer's instructions, can help preserve their performance and extend their lifespan. Regularly inspecting for wear and tear will also allow you to address any issues before they compromise the gloves' effectiveness.

When selecting winter gloves for extreme cold, comfort and fit are crucial for optimal performance. Look for gloves that provide a snug yet flexible fit, allowing for dexterity while keeping warmth trapped inside. Consider materials that offer insulation without bulk, as well as features like adjustable cuffs to prevent cold air from entering. Additionally, ensure that the gloves allow for breathability to keep your hands dry during active use.
