Though I live in a warm climate and do n't need thermals much, they are great when they are needed. Had a pair for years that fit well, was comfortable to wear, could work outside in them. They wore out so I got another pair. They fit well and I expect good things from then.

[ I bought this for a trip to Yellowstone national park. The color is a bit different from the photo in natural light. Less coral/orangish as I expected. A bit darker and a bit more pinkish. But it's still really pretty and of course warm and cozy as the other Smartwool 250 I owned.

[ I am addicted to smartwool 250 baselayers. They always keep me warm and hold up wash after wash. The material doesn ’ t pill at all. I wear them all fall and winter.

Connie
[ I purchased this and the smart wool 250 bottoms for camping/hiking. They are exactly what you think they are and do exactly what you want them to. Warm, lightweight, doesn ’ t stink, comfortable to sleep in and definitely a base layer option for hikes should you want one. I purchased the set on the mystery gift promo- 100% worth it. Value value value.

Bought these to use as an alternative to fleece lined work pants. Much prefer these as it provides more flexibility, yet keeps you warm. They fit well and pair with my canvas work pants. I particularly like the idea that if the weather warms up enough, I can simply take them off, whereas with lined pants, you 're stuck unless you keep an additional pair of pants with you. These launder well too. The seams in them are placed well so there's no `` tugging '' or tightness. To me, they 're a great cold weather investment.

[ Really good and very warm comfortable insulated pants.

Had the chance to trial these on a field test, very warm and durable. nice snug fit, plenty of room to flex and move. No need for extra layers with these, wore with Carhartt lined bibs and was very comfortable all day

I received this set of base layer pants for a Carhartt Crew Filed Test to test its warmth, comfort, and durability in real world working conditions. This is by far the warmest and most comfortable set of base layer pants I have ever worn. I wore them over the winter in Colorado and Wyoming in cold weather, heavy snow, and strong winds. I was warm and comfortable no matter what Mother Nature threw at me. They wick away moisture and move with me all day. I would recommend this base layer for anyone who works outdoors in the winter.

Received these thermal pants for Carhartt field testing. They strike a nice balance between being very warm, lightweight, and comfortable. Wore under double- front jeans or canvas pants in single- digit temperatures with negative wind chills and my legs stayed warm while moving/working. Their light weight is nice for putting in a pack if it gets too warm while hunting or hiking. They are also comfortable to lounge in in warmer temperatures! Pants are true to size and seem durable, however, I have heard thread stretching when I put them on from time to time( I wear size large and am between a 34- 36 waist).

[ My old lady and I have the smart wool top and bottom 250 base layer set. They are exactly what you expect from smart wool. Great quality, the warmth I needed, and pretty useful in most conditions. If you need a base layer or something lightweight to wear on a chilly/cold night- These are useful and for great value.

[ At first these pants feel sort of itchy but once you 're moving around in them it's very comfortable. I first wore them in 35- 40F under normal hiking pants and was too warm while moving. They do regulate body temp well but I wo n't be wearing these hiking unless it's below 35F. I 'm also not a cold bodied person and I move fast.

[ I am an avid walker and must have my daily jaunt or I will go bonkers. I have hiked in all weather from the cold sub temps of Minnesota to the rainy and windy winters of Texas. Having warm thermals are essential. Searching online reviews, Smartwool keeps popping up. My wife and I bought two sets each of tops and bottoms and she just simply loved them instantly When ever the temp dips she gleefully pulls on her Smartwool NTS and a shell and she is out the doors. The material is just the right thickness and the seams are well hidden. It instant warms the body and as claimed, do not smell after a few uses As for durability we have to wait and see. We have other woolen garments and we can see these products appear to be durable. No regrets buying them but regrettably the color choices are limited due to stocks available.

[ I bought this several weeks ago and have worn it on several chilly( and hilly) NE dog walks. It provides a warm, yet breathable layer under my light down jacket. It fits very close to my body and adds very little bulk. I appreciate the generous sleeve length. I have yet to launder it as I wear it as a middle layer.

When searching for the best winter underwear, consider features such as moisture-wicking capabilities, insulation, and breathability. Look for materials that provide warmth without bulk, allowing for comfortable layering. Additionally, a snug fit can help retain heat while preventing chafing during physical activities.
High-quality winter underwear is often made from materials like merino wool, synthetic blends, and thermal fabrics. Merino wool is known for its excellent insulation and moisture-wicking properties, while synthetic materials can offer durability and quick-drying capabilities. Understanding the benefits of each material can help you choose the best option for your needs.
Choosing the right style of winter underwear depends on the activities you plan to engage in. For high-intensity activities like skiing or snowboarding, opt for lightweight, moisture-wicking options. For more sedentary activities, such as lounging or casual outdoor outings, heavier thermal options may provide the extra warmth you need.
Yes, different winter underwear options cater to various body types and preferences. Look for styles that offer a range of sizes and fits, including options designed for a more athletic build or those that provide extra room for comfort. Additionally, consider the rise and length of the underwear to ensure a proper fit for your body shape.
Fit is crucial when selecting winter underwear, as it affects both comfort and performance. A snug fit helps trap warmth and prevents cold air from entering, while also reducing the risk of chafing during movement. However, it's important to avoid overly tight options that may restrict circulation or cause discomfort.
Absolutely, winter underwear is designed to be worn as a base layer for outdoor activities. It provides essential insulation and moisture management, making it ideal for layering under other clothing. Choosing the right base layer can enhance your overall comfort and performance in cold weather conditions.
